My "little" problem was surgery that badly reopened and had to be quickly fixed, so at about 1:00am I entered in the Klinik. The (non-english-speaker) night watchman told me where to go, and there I find the (English-speaker) night nurse. And she was reassuring as an old grandma, professional as an experienced woman, enthusiastic as a young girl, friendly as ... can someone has all that quality and yet be real?? She saw the wound, applied first aid, called Dr W. (too bad his name wasn't Dr Who :) ) who started speak to me in Italian, unbelievable! And he was really great too! To make a long story short, when I went out I felt extraordinary well! I had two follow up: a few days later I returned there for a planned visit, to check that everything was right. It was in the morning, and a young lady doctor (very nice :) ) takes care of me. She was maybe at the end of her courses - the name "Chirurgische Klinik der Universität München" let me suppose that some are students completing their class. The second planned visit was after two weeks, to remove the stitches, that was perfectly done by a young man. Both cases there was a supervisor, and both cases I felt really well treated. I hope that no one has ever to go in a clinic, but if you really have to, consider this place!

Emergency room, three-days hospitalisation, out-patient follow-ups. The emergency room was about a 45 minute wait on a busy Monday evening, the insurance, hospitalisation and discharge processes were all hassle-free. The amenities in my double-bed room were also exactly right, neither luxurious nor too spartan, reminding me of the amenities during last hospitalisation experience of about 5 years ago in Stanford Medical Center. The foyer is also a unique selling point at rechts der Isar. It's a welcoming space with lots of glass, comfortable leather couches and leafy views. There's also a newsstand, barber and small cafe serving fruit, snacks and also ice-cream this time of year. As a in-care patient, it's especially nice to have a destination when you're up and stretching your legs. There was only one nit, and perhaps it's a professional sensitivity: the hospital is entirely offline. Meaning, no WiFi in the patient areas, patients or doctors, no electronic documents, lots of redundant paperwork and information gathering. Documents are not shared between the in- and out-care areas of the same team, they're re-done. E-Medicine at rechts der Isar is probably a decade behind, when I compare it to the US. And let's not mention the entirely paperless Finnish system. Most importantly, the care I received at rechts der Isar was top-notch. Competent and fresh-faced team of doctors, friendly and efficient nurses, a holistic approach, mixing both innovative and time-tested methods to getting my injury fixed and me back on my feet.

NEVER EVER AGAIN! STAY AWAY FROM IT! Even one start is too…read moremuch! I live in Germany ans speak German as well, however there is something off about this hospital. Very unprofessional staff. Nurses are unfriendly and Doctors don't care much about patients! I had to go to ER due to chest pain. A Neurologist showed up after 5 hours waiting and still admitted me into a wrong department! Even I told her that as well as my cardiologist contacted the hospital that I shall be admitted into a rheumatology department as all my lab and ultrasound results showed the heart muscle is fine etc... For a day staying in the cardiology department I did not get a proper treatment and I asked to leave as I had so much pain and none stop fever. After my complain to nurses, a doctor showed up and decided to run some blood test. I requested to receive the lab results to my home that I could take them to my next doctor appointment. she wrote it down and promised that it will be there in one week. After three weeks the results never was by me and I had to go there to pick them up in person. An unbelievably unfriendly-rude nurse was in the department of cardiology, refusing to give me results even my name was in the system, I had my ID with... Anyway, the result was not even completed and my specialist doctor had to run all the blood test all over again! Klinikum Bogenhausen needs a complete turnover. This is not a place for patients. It is a mad hause! NEVER EVER AGAIN!
