Check out this quick story of mine. On August 16th, 2013, Tina picks me and my party up from Kaukauna Wisconsin to go to Tinley park Illinois (south of Chicago) for the Black Sabbath concert reunion. Everything is going fine...then in Racine on I-94, the heater hose system failed and antifreeze was blowing out. Now this happens to anyone or any vehicle. It was a manufacturers design issue due to plastic parts from the factory..... The Limo is very well cared for. At any rate, Tina finds ( after much trying in the yellow pages) that no one is willing to come get us (rental cars including enterprise, cabs, even people off the street to drive her back up to Mitchel field airport in Milwaukee for an offered $100 cash so she can rent a car to finish driving us there). She has only one concern....getting us there and on time to the show. She is not concerned about the fact that her very nice limo is stuck far from a car mechanic. Suddenly, after she talks to the semi mechanic at the truck stop we are at who informs her he cannot legally work on the limo, does he offer up a quick fix and what does Tina do? She stuffs a $100 bill in his shirt pocket and we are on our way!!!!! We were there for 30-40 minutes and I thought the $1400 I spent on the tickets, and the fee for the Limo were all for not....but not only did Tina come thru, she gets us all the way to the venue which was near Joliet (almost to Indiana) and we walk to our seats and after about one minute, the show starts and Ozzy is standing right in front of me!!! This only happened because of Tina and TNT limo and their dedication....not to mention the fine gentleman who fixed this problem. I am telling you, if you want a quality ride with professional service from people who care, your only choice should be....TNT limousine service in Menasha Wisconsin. I was at Appleton Flight Center last week for EAA. They were super busy, but took great care of…read moreme. I read others saying that they raised their rates during EAA. I am not sure what people expect as they had to increase the staffing for the traffic. I was called the night before my planned departure to confirm the time and get a fuel order. I indicated that I would like them know the day of. I called that morning and indicated that I would be taking 30 gals per side, but to wait until I was at the plane (old habit). They said I would likely get a delay in fueling. I allowed them to fuel without me there. On preflight, I found that the tanks were topped off (70 more gals than planned). I mentioned that to John, the lineman and Mary at the front desk. They both said they would let their manager know. On Monday, I got an email from Bob Woods, the manager, apologizing and letting me know he had credited me the difference I paid with what my home fuel cost was for the excess 70 gals. A great leader, who exceeds expectations, makes a great operation, and I can see why they are so good.

We had flown our WWII C-47D from the Yankee Air Museum in and landed directly at Oshkosh to participate in the Warbirds displays for a couple days. Our original plan for returning was to get dropped off with our luggage near our plane when we were finished with the Airshow. Then we would take off from Oshkosh. But due to the traffic in and around the Airshow as well as complications for getting our group and our luggage to the plane for departure, our pilot decided to fly the plane from Oshkosh to Appleton International Airport which was also closer to our hotel. Then we could all meet up there to board the plane and depart for home. The air traffic was much lighter and there were virtually no vehicle traffic problems getting our group to the plane. The Platinum Flight Center at Appleton International Airport is where we met to board our plane. They operate facilities to service and fuel charters, Business flights, private planes, etc, as well as passenger services and processing. They are located on the opposite side of the airport grounds and everything looked new, clean, and well maintained. They even loaded and delivered our luggage to and onto our plane for us. This could be useful for future airshows as well.

I was born in the early eighties and missed growing up in the seventies, unfortunate? perhaps…read more There was one place though that transcended the changes in home furnishings and decor that progressed through the late seventies and into the early eighties. This place was my grandparents home. Built in the late seventies it kept the same tacky decor for much of my childhood, running up into the early nineties. Blue Shag rugs, crushed-gold velvet couches, gaudy fake chandeliers, fake wood paneling, oil canvases of mountain views, "cottage cheese ceilings". All of these were to be encountered in any trip to my grandparents humble abode. I missed it. And then recently I had to book a motel for two weeks in the Appleton, WI for a gig at the nearby paper mill in Kaukauna, WI. I called them up and received an agreeable weekly rate. After the end of my first shift I headed to my reserved room in the early morning hours. When I walked in I whisked away back to my childhood and visits to my grandparents home all over again. The brown shag rug, the fake wood paneling, the oil canvases of mountain views, huge glass ash trays, the smell of years of hard cigarette smoking absorbed into the once white now yellow curtains, a small chairs with ball casters in front of a tri-level desk\ dresser. It was all very reminiscent of my days of yore in the home of Octavio and Dorothy. A couple times I found myself swilling Schlitz or Blatz from a can just to give the added effect of the late seventies complete with Electric Light Orchestra playing from the mammoth alarm clock\ radio. Good times, indeed. The sanitary conditions of the hotel were acceptable, although the fact they could only clean my room between the hours I was sleeping during the day was somewhat bothersome, but no big deal. Fresh towels and wash cloths were constant. The women whom took my reservation was very helpful and courteous as well. She kept me on the weekly rate even though I had stayed over the two weeks. The conditions were decent as well having a laundry mat in house as well. I found their refrigerators to be quite lacking in size, honestly. But, then again it kept a twelve pack, sausages, and jarred-pickled beets and cabbage cool enough. Some of my fellow brothers in the trade stayed in the same motel during the job, but in the older side and they complained about much, but also said it had lower rates on than my room, but much smaller. I found the "Snugg" to be such a gas that I invited some fellow boilermakers over at the end of the job for some beers early in the morning, oddly they did not share my fondness of the decor, perhaps they didn't have enough LaCross Lager.

The desk clerk who I spoke to told me that they were booked up for the days that I wanted.
