Though I've never actually bought anything from the store, I've tried on numerous pairs of shoes there over the years, and have always been really impressed by the quality of the shoes as well as the wide selection. The staff at Mischief are really helpful, and don't mind you trying on half the store (something I've done quite a few times!), as they too are shoe lovers and understand how important it is to find not only the perfect fit but also the perfect style for you. Stocking popular, fashionable and quality brands like Nude, Soles, Clarks, Chaos and Harmony and Paolo Vandini, Mischief caters to both men and women aged about 16 years onward. A little pricey is ol Mischief, but this an example of the whole 'what you get is what you pay for' scenario. Every pair of shoes in this store is made from excellent quality materials and is on trend with the latest European fashions. If you're in Newmarket and feel the need to treat yourself, take a peek in Mischief - it's well named - you never know what you'll be leaving the store with!

When i last wondered in here, my nephew (4) was really taken with some of the shoes! He would pick out the fanciest, shiniest, most sparkly high heel and bring it over to me and ask if I'd like to try it on. I was starting to worry about his love of shoes but thought he could obviously just appreciate quality as much as I can. I noticed down the back there are a few shoes on sale. This is a pretty important thing for me because most of the prices are well above my price range and so sale items are unfortunately my only option.

I don't know how they do it (or why, actually, come to that matter) but this store sells shoes from brands such as Vans, Converse, Nike and Adidas at way, way cheaper prices than I've seen anywhere else in the city. We're talking around $80 for a really good pair of ladies Adidas running shoes (elsewhere, these tend to be over $100, often much more) and a huge range of colours of classic Vans plimsolls for around the same price. It's by no means a cool shop and I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for good quality leather shoes or anything cutting-edge fashiony but if you're looking for cheap runners or street shoes at much cheaper than the stores in the city centre, this is your place...just don't tell anyone else!

I've been back a number of times purely because of the price and I haven't regretted it once. It's the kind of place I head when I realise my Keds are letting water in and I need shoes fast, or when I'm struggling to find a present for a hopeless male friend who never seems to be able to look after footwear... his shoes be talking, a lot! There's a pretty massive range of shoes at this place (hence the name?) and they're all ridiculously cheap. While you won't find all the big brands here, there are enough good brands to choose from.

Foot Locker always does pretty well with footwear and I like the range of women's shoes here. There are some awesome colours, some a little too adventurous for my taste, but still great to look at. I'm probably one to go to Foot Locker for a more casual shoe like the Chuck Taylor, but they do offer great quality athletic shoes in different brands, so there's lots to choose from. Foot Locker seems pretty limited in their clothing. They do excellent tees, and usually have good deals on these. However, as far as official team merchandise goes (NBA for example), there's not much on offer. They've got a handful of sportswear clothing for men and women but that's about it. It isn't the biggest Foot Locker store I've visited, so limited space could be the case. If you join the Foot Locker loyalty club you get 10% off every full-priced purchase, and any discount is a good discount. Really handy if you're a regular and just to have on hand when you need it. Foot Locker is awesome for footwear but I'd suggest elsewhere for clothing.

I especially love the sales, which give really impressive discounts, but as it's mid-range in price and not often leather, you won't break the bank if you buy at full price. This is also a good place to shop for flats, which can be hard come by. Two recent favourites have been shiny ballet flats with a collage of colour photos print all over, and a cute pair of peep-toes made of Mexican-style colourful woven cloth, with contrast black and white striped satin bows. Heart. Seriously. As a bonus, everything I've bought from there so far has worn really well, so it seems all to be good quality, plus the sales assistant is great at giving you tips about shoe fit and care.

The girls at Mi Piaci were an absolute godsend, suggesting several different options to try. They even let me put on my dress so I could make a more informed decision. I ended up walking out w not one but two pairs of shoes - isn't it amazing the difference great customer service makes!
