Listen Ruby's is a staple. Great burritos, vegetarian and vegan options, dank hot sauce. BUT what a joke their pricing and 'rules' can be. They wanted to CHARGE me to remove an item from my burrito, yes I said CHARGE ME. Also, I ordered 4 burritos, over $30 worth of burritos, and they charged me for hot sauce. BURRITOS SHOULD COME WITH HOT SAUCE PEOPLE. I understand, charge for extra but not even 1 per burrito? And .50 for that tiny cup? Give the people their hot sauce!!! My first time here, for a hot tea, soda and two burgers with a side of fries, the price was great. It was $30. However the Tea wasn't great. Place is amazing but the bathroom is dirty. Burgers were 6.5 out of 10. Grilled cheese was 8/10 (sister says 10/10) and the fries were also 8/10. The service is okay everyone is really nice but they forgot our fries. Stumbled across Ruby's on Gennessee by accident, decided to try it, and had a pretty good experience. Definitely adding this to my list of tasty places in Medford that can accommodate dairy sensitivities and veganism. They have 4 different non-dairy milks, vegan cheeze, tofu, and tempeh as well as multiple falafel options. The prices and wait time were reasonable too. Here's what we ordered and how we liked it. Homemade chai with oat milk: Strong start, poor finish. Deliciously aromatic, unique flavour, good spice tingle, low sweetness level. Started out very tasty but as time went on it became a bit bitter somehow (no teabag left in or anything like that). If I get one again some day, I would only do a small size and drink it quick before it gets bitter. Very unique chai, worth experiencing. Rose latte with oat milk: Pretty good! Strong black coffee flavor with no undue bitterness, this drink was sweeter than the chai but not very sweet which was good. Smooth mouthfeel with the oat milk. Overall a pleasant, unusual latte due to the rose flavor which was well proportioned (subtle rose flavor and aroma without being weird or too strong). Unlike the chai, this drink stayed tasty to the last drop an hour or so after it was made. Ashland burger: Okie dokie. Better after applying some mustard to it. If you drag along an un-adventurous carnivore, they won't starve. Falafel salad (with yogi sauce excluded and replaced with a vegan cilantro sauce): Also okie dokie. The cilantro sauce was pretty good but the falafel was kind of hard yet doughy. It's very possible the falafel's texture was victimized by the long drive home before we ate, so probably better if you're eating in. The salad was decent but not very substantial so we added diced tomato and olives which really helped. Reubenstein. AWESOME. Favorite thing we had at Ruby's and the best vegan reuben I've ever had. The bread was so good and so was the marinated tempeh and the sauces, yum! They mean it when they say the mustard is spicy but the spice level wasn't vicious, just assertive. Quite a filling sandwich, too. There are more menu items we want to try so we'll definitely be back! read more

The breakfast burrito is so amazing, I never get anything else. Today they suggested the hot toddy, assuring me it was the best hot toddy ever. It did not disappoint. Imagine the most perfectly spiced cup of chamomile tea...then add a perfect subtle boozy kick. Amazing. It's a great little place, great ambience, a kick ass music selection, and always great service. My husband has tried other things (the Riley's cheesesteak, which he now swears he will order every time...my small taste was delicious), and had never been disappointed. For night shifters - it is appreciated that they serve adult beverages first thing in the morning so you can have a beer after getting off work. So today, was utter bullshit. Placed an order to go over the phone which has never been an issue. Steak burrito, extra steak extra peppers. RBG burrito, fries crispy. Was told it would be about 30 minutes. Okay no big deal. Get there 35 minutes later andd had to wait outside in line with all the people ordering and dining in. 15 minutes later i get to the counter, pick up order and go home. Fries, soggy as fuck. Not one was crispy. My steak burrito had zero extra steak and zero extra peppers. What it did have is half HAM and extra cheese! I am allergic to ham!!!!! What the fuck is this crap, so now i have a burrito that i cannot eat, and literally just threw $10 into the toilet. However, my wife's burrito was what she ordered, we think they made 1 1/2 portions and added a tiny bit of steak filling. People order some food for a reason, not expecting food they did not order that they literally cannot eat. Thank you for making me sick today. If this is the food standard of this place (which usually is pretty good) then stay the fuck away and just skip the process and just go into the bathroom. Ruby's has become a local favorite of mine and that's hard to find nowadays. The service crew is very welcoming and ready to serve you. The kitchen is always making great food and I'm constantly trying different meals there. Also, their coffee gets you going and even for an afternoon 'pick me up'. Go check them out! Hello, I wanted to give my two cents on my visit today.. I've been here many many times and have always had great food, wonderful chefs that make unforgettable burritos.. however today was by far the most uncomfortable experience so far, the front cashier had a chip on his shoulder since the call in to picking up the food. Answering the food calling me "bud" and not having patience to work through my order having good customer service. So you can believe I'm going to talk about it. It can take years and help from many hands to build and empire but only takes one to tear it down. My opinion fire the jackass in front with personal issues that take away from him being the best part about "Ruby's" Have a good day, I suggest the food but not the experience. I really like this place...in Ashland and I have for years. Medford, what is going on in Medford? Do they spray chemicals in the air to make people unqualified to prepare food? It is like every where I go, my food is awful or doesn't make any sense and the quality lacking. I also don't seem to notice any consistency at most local food businesses either. Maybe the business courses are lacking in schools here? Anyways, this is my third time trying this location and the first time was great. They can't seem to make the food the same as in Ashland, and the second time I decided to get a burrito and the top half was eggs and the bottom half was all greasy potatoes. Never had a burrito divided in sections like that. The third time, I just threw it away bc it was so burnt and greasy. It's just upsetting because Medford doesn't have much and then finally something and it is a let down. Went to try for the first time, let me just say i won't be back. I ordered the chorizo burrito and the burrito was stuffed with multiple things but i could not taste ANYTHING accept the guacamole. The whole burrito had the texture of mush, yes i get chorizo has that texture but the peppers, onions, and beans were horrible texture. I love chorizo but the chorizo has zero flavor. My boyfriend got the Argentina burger and asked for it to be medium, it was so hard and well done with once again ZERO taste. The fried egg on top was so hard it looked boiled. I love a good bloody marry and the yet again... no taste other than tomato paste. It came with lemon wedge, nothing pickled. A total cost after tip around $40. I've worked breakfast lines and it's not that difficult to separate a the white from the yolk. If it's a matter of principle, then good luck with that as you chase away $40, 2 top tabs. I'm a travel nurse. Did my ER night shift. While working this place was recommended for its great breakfast burritos and proximity to the hospital. I got the RBG burrito with meat and medium heat. The first bit was bland and everything in it tasted the same, like spice but not bad. The second bit I was feeling some heat. The third bit my mouth was on fire. I started looking at the burrito. It started getting worse. The heat got so bad I instantly new. They f'ed with my food. I eat hot food often but this was next level. The pain was extremely bad and I just became more and more angry.
