Ruch became my new OB GYN after Adams Patterson moved from Kirby. Let me tell you; they baked the cake! Iced the cake and put a cherry on top! My 1st appointment was an annual visit. The staff was friendly, fun loving and professional. I shared with NP, Jess Rider, yearsss old complaints. She immediately ordered a sonogram, found the issue then involved Dr. Bishop. Who went on to create an action plan to eliminate the issue permanently, within 4 months of my initial visit. Dr. Bishop was also compassionate in creating a short term plan for comfort & relief in the days and months leading to my procedure. They treated me like a person & resolved every concern. My wife went here and dropped as a patient at 15 weeks pregnant all because she told them she would prefer to not have a c section (our previous kid had shoulder dystocia at 8.6lbs) we had a 5 min visit with a second doctor Dr butcher trying to meet all of the faces that could deliver our baby. When she brought up the issue my wife said to 2 of her questions that she knew there was a risk and that she would want to try still for vback but if medically necessary would do a c section.(this is at 10 weeks 4 days pregnant). We then get dropped from them and told because my wife "said" under no circumstances would she get a c section. This is a lie and putting words in her mouth. She didn't even offer to explain what the risks were or ask why she didn't want a section or even try to discuss further than "do you know that there are risks" yes (we do know but don't know what they are.) And would you still want to try if it's a bigger baby. Yes (what woman would want to have a surgery cutting there gut open and making recovery longer. But we are open to it. also had she explained or asked why instead of the brief minute of these 2 questions we would have asked. I had surgery in April. I was very impressed with Dr. Laura Bishop's attentiveness to my care. She not only retrieved my medical records but actually read them prior to my first time appointment. She included medical information in our consultation that I had failed to mention due to an oversight! During and after my procedure she kept my family informed and they felt comfortable with her as well. I knew that I'd come to the right place and will continue referring others to her. P read more

Ruch clinic should be shut down. Go to mid south Obgyn instead. Front desk staff should learn how to speak to people dignity and professionalism. I was an eye witness in the waiting room and witnessed how they tore down this poor child while she was waiting for her mother to park the car. They wouldn't see her until her mother paid the copay-and instead of being nice and hospitable to her, they were rude as hell. The doctor accused her of being aggressive to the staff???? When the poor girl didn't do anything except show up to her appt. wow..... this place is a wreck. Avoid if possible. read more

I waited ~ 6weeks to write this review to "cool off" as I've never written a review for a Physician as it is can be an emotional and stressful period for patients, so wanted to be more objective & understand that it's not alway fun to visit a physician... I had a visit with Dr.Bishop for the 1st time since Dr.Long, my Physician of almost 3 decades retired in 2021. I do not live in town anymore and was appreciative of being able to see a female physician (Dr. Bishop, as she had available appointments), while visiting my family. I had called several weeks in advance asking for a diagnostic mammogram requisition (as i had a scheduled appointment and knew it might be more difficult to schedule). By the time I had the conversation after multiple attempts calling, messages, and delayed responses, it was too late to schedule. The Ruch Clinic is terrible at getting back to patients. I have now left 2 messages (called the office, left message on nurse's line) and wrote Dr. Bishop via the portal last week... ZERO response. I did not "debate" as she put in my chart, but asked why I was needing a repeat pap smear when I had a negative one recently (within the standard of care ACOG & cervical cancer screening guidelines 3-5 years). After her rude comments, basically disinterested and cold, despite me asking a valid question (As a patient, I had a right to know... I suspect it was for billing not for a medical indication as I've had several negatives over the recent years...if she had just checked the chart which I asked her to do. She also never corrected the date of a procedure (7 years difference which matters) I had (I can see in the portal tonight). She also bad mouthed Dr. Long twice, which was totally unprofessional as she was a previous colleague and clearly beloved by many. Dr. Bishop has a poor bedside manner, I get that it is a tough field (I have OBGYNs in the family), but do better. I did not get a satisfactory explanation that I could fully understand (with legs spread apart, not dignified) and rushing out of the room . Also, this is the 1st time I have never had a breast exam during my annual visit (although she documented that she did one in the chart). What? Didn't realized as a patient i'd have to point out current up to date guidelines or remind my GYN to do a breast exam ( I did not remind her b/c I was so taken aback by her bedside manner and only remembered later as I recounted this encounter to several friends/family members). She recommended an ultrasound, which after she sort of explained, I agreed to based on her expertise and the office accommodated me during my in town visit, which again was appreciated. The ultrasound tech was great, however, again, Dr, Bishop came in, reviewed labs (sort of, good thing I knew how to interpret them), but did not listen to a standard lab value that was actually improved. Just her cold, "uh huh" and moved on. The procedure was extremely painful, no offer of topicals or pain meds or even a paracervical block or anxiolytic. I have since discussed this with other GYNs (and also read prior to this) and she said not indicated. Well, other GYN's do give some pain meds (or recommend over the counters prior to the procedure), or a block or even topical. Yes, if you look on a pathology slide, there are nerves that are close to the surface so it could actually blunt the affect a little. Well, I bled ~ 3 weeks after a failed procedure (which had not happened before I saw her or had that procedure). I filled out the paperwork to have my medical records sent to a new physician for consult in my area. ZERO response... all this she says, oh "you need surgery under anesthesia" no real explanation and of course, 2nd day in a row with my legs spread and vulnerable, just cold, heartless and in a rush to her next factory patient. What a disappointment in this clinic. I stuck with Dr. Long as although it was fast and still felt like a factory (churn & burn patients), she still had a good bedside manner, answered my questions and treated me like a human. This occurred ~6 weeks ago and I am still upset (several of my close friends/family in the area also asked bc they were searching for a change or a new physician... they know not to go to her (and likely the Ruch Clinic). I would not recommend Dr. Bishop or the Clinic anymore, I had for years. 2 stars instead of one for "working me in for an Ultrasound" and calling around (way too late) for a mammogram, those things were not above and beyond when they don't listen to your concerns when you call. While her medical decision making may be sound (for the ultrasound and need for surgery... not for a repeat pap smear based on standard of care guidelines), I would not choose to have L.Bishop perform my surgery and will not be returning to her in the future. read more

Everything good about the Ruch clinic left when Dr. Long retired. I had been going there since I was 16. I tried Bishop, horrible. Tried Taylor, horrible. Dr. Long was caring and informative with great bedside manner. When she left, I had to again choose a Dr. Somehow I got Taylor hoping that after all these years and 3 babies, she would've grown as a Dr. She was only worse. So cold, rushes you, & seriously acts like you're on her assembly line. When wanting to have my tubal reversed, she very coldly told me too bad, go do IVF. I was in shock. That hurt considering I really wanted another baby. Think long and hard before tying your tubes. Most women regret it after. She also did an unnecessary medical procedure on me which the front desk staff MADE me pay half upfront having me believe I needed it since it came from a dr's mouth!. They aren't the nicest either. It was very quick prob so I couldn't look all this stuff up. After researching the procedure done since nothing changed and speaking with other doctors I learned she didn't need to do any procedure and my issues were coming from my last c-section with tubal ligation & an ovarian tumor removal (12 cm). My body was simply trying to heal and she unnecessarily traumatized it more when I have several autoimmune disorders so that didn't help my body at all. I called my insurance and informed them of what happened. They handled the clinic from there and I never got another call about paying off the other half of an almost $500 procedure/biopsy but I also never got my 1st payment back. They are a cash grab business and that's all they seem to care about. The front office isn't pleasant, neither is the manager Carla, & DrBishop & Taylor should have to go do more training in dealing with patients but after 26 years of me knowing them being there and not picking it up, I don't see it happening. Bottom line, when the office manager doesn't care how things go, no one is gonna care to do their job properly. I realized well over a year later that they overcharged me with the birth of my last child because I only stayed overnight due to COVID being everywhere. We just wanted to be home with our other kids but no adjustment was made. That's my fault for not thinking to check back. But they sure make sure they get every last cent even if your baby comes early. You better not miss your payment schedule even by a day or you'll get a call. They're very demanding about money. Remember to fill out a health questionnaire online through the patient portal and provide insurance prior to your visit. Even though I did my part to complete these things ... It was 15 minutes from the start of my visit to be asked to pay co-pay. Another 1:45 to see the doctor. Side note: I am not sure why a clinic would get a height and weight if they do not plan on asking the patient to take off their shoes. Also, make sure you ask for a blood pressure cuff that fits your arm. If you get one that's is too small and you are obese then the reading will be falsely high. On the other hand if your arm is tiny and the cuff is big then your pressure will be falsely low. Overall, I have noticed that the wait times at this clinic have doubled. It is probably due to the fact that physicians such as Dr. Chauhan, have gained popularity/patients in the community. It's nice that the clinic keeps you busy by shuffling you into various waiting areas to give the impression of a shorter wait. Bring an iPad to pass the time .... read more

Since my original provider at Ruch Clinic retired, I have found the care to be very impersonal, from the nursing staff to the physician attending to me. My new doctor is Dr. Taylor. I realize that a new doctor needs time to get to know a patient, but my experience was that sher was completely disinterested. Going to the doctor can be stressful in any case; it helps tremendously when the doctor has a friendly and caring bedside manner. I have been going to the Ruch Clinic for more than 30 years. I had my first visit with Dr. Alicia Wright in December 2017 to get my annual pap smear. I was referred to her by my PCP after my former OB-GYN doctor retired. I have Cigna health insurance was not asked to pay any co-pay or co-insurance for this first visit. Dr. Wright ordered a bone-density scan, which was performed at the end of January 2018. Ruch Clinic called me and told me that I would have to pay $109.00+ for the procedure. I thought this was odd since I have insurance and Ruch Clinic is in-network for Cigna, which means there is a contracted price for this procedure. I paid the $109.00+ and then when I received my Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from Cigna, I did not owe Ruch Clinic anything. Not only did I have to call them to get the results of my pap smear and bone-density scan, but I have made at least 7 calls since February 8, 2018 to their Billing Department trying to get my refund (in either check form or credit to my credit card). As of March 12, 2018, they still have my money. Apparently refunds are only performed by the Billing manager (or supervisor) once per month on a day that her decides. Very Terrible experience! Refused my insurance which I was fine with and volunteered to pay full price just to get an understanding of what was wrong with me with a provider whom o was familiar with. Rebecca made me aware that they did not accept my insurance, brought Cindy into the conversation and announced to the whole room that they would not accept my insurance and I immediately asked her to lower her tone I could hear her perfectly fine. No need to scream it throughout the waiting room. I paid my 100 dollar deposit fee no problem CASH and proceeded to fill out my paperwork. Rebecca proceeds to have a phone conversation with a lady in the back Carla about my case and Carla then came up front and felt the need to further explain to me that they could not see me due to my insurance and maybe I should go somewhere else unless I chose to pay out of pocket which I already explained I was fine with WITH A RECEIPT IN HAND of payments already made! These individuals made me feel EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE considering that I was a prior patient of them for MANY YEARS WHEN I WAS COVERED UNDER CIGNA! Waste of a clinic! read more

I had a wonderful experience with the Ruch Clinic at Humpreys. I had my annual exam, NP visit, and blood work done all in under an hour. Everyone is very nice and professional.
