My son recently teased me about an Easter basket and I…read moreneeded to remind him, I literally flew to Belgium to secure Easter chocolates from at least 7 different Belgium chocolatiers to prep his Easter gifts this year. If that doesn't keep me out of a nursing home, I don't know what will! Bestie and I finished our morning waffles and the chocolate shopping began. We went in every single shop and others around town. Thank goodness for cool temps because we had so many treats! This is a beautiful area to spend some time. We left with an extremely robust selection. A couple of my Easter bunny's from Mary's broke in transit back to the states but most everything else remained in tack. I loved admiring all of the store fronts decorated for Easter.

I didn't end up buying anything since I was leaving Brussels that day and didn't want to lug more around but still enjoyed looking around and walking through it.

I am super grateful there is a Pierre Marcolini shop located here because I adore his chocolates but it does slightly hit the wallet. There's also a good cheese shop and I hit up Di for girly stuff at the same time. I haven't had much luck with the bread shop so tend to avoid it. There's also a C&A (similar to Macy's or JC Penney) which has great bargains from time to time. The one store I hate to shop at here is Proximus - don't get me wrong, am very glad it's here but the lines are so long, they either need to staff up, or expand store footage or have more seating. The people at the help desk (located in the middle of the mall) are always very friendly and there's always some sort of goodies available. Also suggest that you go thru mall magazine (also found at the help desk) because sometimes there are great coupons and deals to be found!

Little selection & no real place for a bored husband to wait, whilst his wife trails the disappointing shops. Sure there is a 'cafe' with no real selection. But beyond that... bugger all. The last time I was there; there was a vinyl market going on. Which I found quite interesting, it was a Sunday. Unexpected, yet surprised: you don't see those quite often, right? Expect being a convenient markethall, on calmer week days the gallery has interesting bars, restaurants and stores to offer. There's most likely always an afterwork drink session going on there on Thursdays. It's convivial, it's lively, it's fun. It's easily accessible (right across the Central Station. As you walk through the hallways you will be confronted by many men trying to sell you their clothing or jewelry. They are not aggressive although they do not enjoy the answer NO. At this point, you will know that you have entered the China market section, full of nail salons with women approaching my wife for manni - pedis. Our first stop was Beauty nails. I got a Manucure for 10€. It was a Manicure. I also got a Pédicure esthétique Homme for 25€. It was an Esthetic pedicure. I was guided to the chair for the Pédicure first. Unfortunately, I was soaking in the water for quite some time before being served. The Pédicure ended up being pretty bad. I was seated for the Manucure right after. It was sloppy throughout the service and ended up being worse than the Pédicure. Our next and last stop was a shop called GIFT STORE BRUSSELS. We walked inside. There was a variety of items. I got a keychain. It was 1€3. I also got a sweatshirt. It was 27.00€. I was happy with my items. The service throughout my time here was efficient and friendly. I didn't have any issues. Overall, I had a decent time here and it was worth the stop. Date of visit: 05/04/2025
