Just moved to Bluffton in May. Our precious Westie, Charlie, was staying in Chicago with a family member until we were settled. Charlie arrived with a transporter on Friday and was a mess! She desperately needed grooming and a bath ASAP! We called a 5 local groomers & RUFF CUTS was the only shop to call back immediately! Derek at RUFF CUTS "squeezed in" Charlie for a wash & groom and did a wonderful job. Charlie (and I) felt so much better. I am so thankful for Derek taking her on such short notice and doing an amazing job! Thank you Derek and Dina! We found our forever groomer. I highly recommend RUFF CUTS!! read more

Derek at Ruff Cuts was recommended by acquaintances in my community for excellent work. WRONG! I took my well trained, calm Cavipoo for a trim specifying his head to resemble a Cavalier spaniel since that was his bone structure. The curly body was to be cut short with a sanitary cut belly. His tail was to be left as a plume with about half the hair length. What I received was an incredibly sloppy job. His face was shaved as if he were a Poodle with no shaping. Clumps of hair were left around his lips and nose. Clumps of hair were left on his underside. Even long clump of hair was left on his tail. Fur between his paw pads was not shaved, although that is standard fir Poodle mix dogs. Hair inside his ears was not plucked. I took my dog to his vet the next day and they said it appeared ear hair was only cut not plucked as is standard with Poodle mixed breeds. I will NEVER use this business and I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I left my golden doodle with a dog sitter. When I got home he was so mated that he had to be shaved. Rough cuts did a great job.

We recently moved to Bluffton & were looking for a dog groomer in the area for our 3 year old (80 lbs) Australian Shepherd. I picked Ruff Cuts due to the positive reviews and convenient location. They did a BEAUTIFUL job on our dog! The staff were very friendly & very knowledgeable on how to groom him. The cost was right in line for what I have paid to groom him in the past. He looks so handsome! It can be stressful finding a new groomer, I am glad that is behind me as Ruff Cuts will be taking care of him from now on. Thank you Ruff Cuts!! read more

I absolutely love the way my Golden-doodle is groomed here, friendly and knowledgeable, I have tried several and this place is the best!

I got a call to say I needed to come and pick up my dog immediately because he jumped out of the groomers arms and hurt his knee. They said I needed to take to the vet. This is the second time I have been to Ruff Cuts with my two dogs. I was very happy with my first appointment, my dogs were happy and well groomed. I understand accidents happen, but they could have at least apologized, or called to inquire how my dog was after they dropped him on the floor. I would not have written this negative review, if they had shown some concern, I probably would have returned as a customer. Unfortunately, the poor handling of this accident has caused us to leave this review and not return. read more

The spot on Yelp was misleading. I wish to thank Ruff Cuts as excellent. My fur kid is a rough customer. The Techs made it so much more simple than any other place Every has. Instead of looping my dog into several neck hanging devices after telling them that she doesn't like to have her nails done. They would still hang her by her neck. The awesome people at rough cuts one person grabbed up my dog and cuddled her while the other lady just clipped her nails no drama no trauma and I really appreciated that. The bath that they gave my fur kid was awesome. I could pet her and not have miles of fur flying in the air afterwards. Thank you so much.. we will be back soon read more

I hesitate to say how wonderful this groomer is because they will get so busy I'll never get in again! But this is hands-down best groomer I've ever taken my dog to. We just relocated to the area with our female Bernese Mountain Dog who needs monthly grooming to stay "pretty". We had tried a different groomer the month previous, wasn't happy with the reception or results. So, we tried Ruff Cuts and I wish we had gone there first! Dina & her husband welcomed us in like old friends and Dina was totally attentive and understanding to our list of "needs" for grooming and dealing with our "lazy" dog. The dog was immediately at ease in the shop, not overwhelmed, and no fussing which she usually does as soon as we walk in. When I came back to pick her up I couldn't believe how much work had been done in such a short amount of time! She has never looked or felt better! Silky shiny smooth and absolutely not stressed at all! To top it all off, when I went in to pick her up, Dina & her husband took the time to chat, recommending a pet sitter, local restaurants and even where to look in our house hunt. Ruff Cuts is not only a great groomer, they are good people with a fantastic & friendly small business. You don't get too many of those anymore & we are so glad we found them! read more

I took my first dog there to be groomed a month ago. He is a wheaten terrier and they asked me if I wanted the standard cut. He looked wonderful. Yesterday I took the Airedale who looked like a giant stuffed toy. She was so furry her eyes were almost covered. They asked of I wanted the standard Airedale cut and I said yes with no beard. I couldn't believe my eyes that this sleek spectacular dog was the same one I had dropped off in the morning. I am more fussy with my dogs haircuts than my own. Moving from Boston, I had access to good groomers both in quality of cut and in a bright clean setting. I've had the former here but not the latter. Now I found both, this is a lovely clean bright setting and they do a wonderful job at a fair price. Really nice people there as well. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I scheduled a first time appointment for my dog. I was told my dog would be finished around 3. At 10:30 am I receive a call that the "groomer" couldn't handle my dog. My terrier is well socialized. She has been to other groomers with no trouble. I now have a dog with top half of her hair cut. They didn't even try to give her a bath or let her rest and try again. The poor thing was just scared of a new place. Moral of the story- don't trust a place that doesn't ask for vaccination records! read more
