I love the Ruff House. They always recognize my dog, call him by name, and they are very caring towards him and his anxiety!

Ruff House is excellent. We have used them for the last couple of years and they have been nothing but fantastic with our dogs. We have tried other places and know when something isn't right by the reaction of our dogs. One time while boarding for a week, one of our dogs stopped eating due to anxiety. I later learned that the manager herself sat down with Ginger and while petting her, hand fed her so she would eat. Another time, one of the dogs rolled in another dogs poop. They gave him a bath free of charge. Many places keep the dogs in kennels, allowing them to come out once a day. That does not happen at Ruff House. Believe me I personally checked! Our dogs like going to Ruff House and we will continue to take them. read more

Been taking my dog Phoebe to this place for months, there was an incident that involved a scrap inside one of her ears, and yes they didn't call us (they didn't notice) but they apologized and made things right by offering almost an entire week of free boarding for their mistake. Finally moving away to another state and honestly after working with these people, I couldn't recommend them more highly. They are really nice people and know what they are doing, don't let the bad reviews turn you off from this place. They treat us and our dog like family. Great staff. A little hard to find and the first impression of the facility is lacking in the 'wow' factor that seems to be more prevalent in some doggie spa care . The staff more than makes up for this with a friendly, professional attitude, that genuinely cares for the animals, and a facility with full service capabilities. read more

I took my pup Toby and he loved it! He got groomed and looks so awesome now! They were also really fast and I was able to come pick up my pup after a couple hours! It was awesome! read more

My wife and I were in Provo in our RV in September. We have a 1 yr old golden doodle. We do not like leaving her in the RV when we are gone for more than a few hours. Doing some internet surfing we found Ruff House in Orem. We took her there 3 days while we were gone. She loved it. It was good for her and gave us a peace of mind while we were gone. Everyone working there were great to talk to and get information on how she did. The only regret I had was that they are not open on Sunday. Would not hesitate to recommend Ruff House. read more

Whenever we go somewhere we bring our golden there, he is always so happy can't wait to get out of the car, we get him back happy, clean, and that makes us happy. Would recommend to anyone. read more

I LOVE this place! I have a rescue weimie that was abused and has lots of issues. I take him almost every day so in the morning I am usually treated to a happy dance, and a demand to hurry up and go. The folks at Ruff House have been supportive, compassionate and understanding. They keep an eagle eye on the dogs and are always proactive in communicating with me about how my dog is doing. Don't use this kennel! We just sent my dog, Charlie there for the weekend and he came back limping with huge gashes in his paws, a cold, and a completely different personality. He was a happy, energetic dog and now he is just withdrawn and winces when we come near him. I don't know what happened there but it was very bad. They were completely unsympathetic and unhelpful when we called about it. Stay far, far away from this place. I want to cry that my dog had to spend four nights there and was likely being mistreated. :( read more

This place is wonderful! We live in California but visit family in Utah often but can't have our dogs at the in-laws house so we have to board them. Boarding places in CA keep the dogs in kennels all day with the exception of quick walks, don't allow you to bring their own toy/blanket, and are VERY expensive. Ruff house was so great in letting us bring a blanket from home to keep the dogs happy. They're staff is very friendly and gave us an update the next day on how they're doing. Also, I love that they have "play time' for the dogs instead of being kenneled the whole time. We have 2 German shepherds so exerting their energy is super important. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

One star only because I can't leave zero...DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! We took our dog in for a bath and while the price was good, we saw as they drug her to their back room that you're not allowed to see and you could see how terrified she was. I will say our dog is more skiddish, HOWEVER, she's been to the groomers before and does just fine. When we picked her up she was not herself AT ALL. She peed herself about 3 times from being so scared, she wouldn't focus on anything (she's very well trained), and couldn't walk straight. Plus the wash they did was terrible. They barely cut her nails and she smelled like she had been playing in poop. The staff there was the least comforting and rudest. They did not care when I informed them that she is more skiddish and would be a little more scared. They said "she'll get over it real quick here". I'm sorry but as a dog owner, those words are your worst nightmare. You expect to be able to trust the people you leave your dog with and from the beginning nothing felt right about them. Sad that companies exist like this. And I don't know if it's the company or just the staff. They clearly did not care about the dogs or their jobs. Do yourselves a favor and splurge a little more to get your dog groomed elsewhere. NOT WORTH THE EMOTIONAL PAIN THEY CAUSE YOUR DOG. read more

My dog was bit, they super glued the holes where he was bit and hoped it would slide by. We called in, no apology all they said is they would role back the tape and call us back. Never got a call. I think this place is just cheap and that's what keeps them busy. read more

When we first got our puppy ruby she was so high energy we didn't know what to do with her. A friend suggested ruff house for daycare here. And it's definitely changed our lives for the better. I rest easier knowing my dog isnt locked up at home for 9+ hours a day. And Becky and her staff are so attentive towards her. I get weekly if not daily updates of how shes doing there. Plus I came to find out they've been teaching her new commands as well which made our training easier having someone else enforce it too. read more

Left our dog Maxi one day for daycare. They told me one of the dogs there wanted Maxi to play but she wasn't interested. She just enjoyed resting in the sun. Took her the next day and she was happy to go again so I know she enjoyed herself. We are helicopter parents when it comes to our dog so we were very happy. She got her nails trimmed and a bath before leaving and they did a great job. Thanks Ruff House. read more

I took my German shepherd here after confirming that Ruff House was familiar with the de-shedding needs of this particular breed and they confirmed that German Shepherds were one of their main De- shedding clients. I went through the process of getting the account setup and my wife drove 30 miles to take our dog for grooming. Ruff House called my wife about an hour after she was dropped off and said she was done. That was strange to me because I had already paid for a bath, nail trimming and the de-shedding. When my safe arrived to pick our dog up the dog was still wet. So she was not even brushed effectively let alone de-shed. I emailed Ruff house who after looking at security cameras confirmed that they had made a mistake and that they were very sorry and that they would make right. I have called and emailed 3 times since and they will not contact me. This was the biggest waste of 80 dollars that should have been a simple process. If you love your pet and want it done right then please go elsewhere. read more

Not sure how anyone can give this place any stars! Wouldn't let me give zero stars. I boarded 2 dogs here for 4 days. One dog needed an immunization, not Bordetella he was up to date on that but thats what he got! When I picked them up one dog couldn't bark he was so hoarse. I couldn't breath inside the place the smell was horrific! When I got my dog and their bed into the car I had to keep the windows down because of the smell. They had to have been living in their excrement/urine for the last 4 days. I had to throw the bed away. Both of my dogs had kennel cough, they were sick over 3 weeks. One was noticeably thinner, ribs showing! They even brought the kennel cough home to my Shitzu that wasn't boarded there! If you love your pets don't leave them at Ruff House! read more

I brought my dog here a couple times without incident and left a glowing review, but have since rescinded it. The third time I tried to bring my dog here, she seemed TERRIFIED. She kept pulling away from the door, and dragged me back to the car, eagerly jumping back in when I opened the door for her. This is totally abnormal behavior for her, she's a very outgoing dog and is always curious to go places. She didn't need to tell me twice. We turned around and never went back. If you want to take your dog somewhere it will be loved and handled well, try Sydney's Bed and Biscuit in American Fork. It's a bit of a drive for me, but Sammy is ALWAYS excited when we get there, they take great care of her. I wish I'd read these reviews before taking her to Ruff House. I don't know what happened to her, but she was obviously traumatized in some way. Stay away! read more

I had a previous review here that was deleted. Hmm. Our dog was attacked and killed while staying here. I was assured on two occasions that the smaller dogs were not mixed in with older dogs while they were playing. That is not true. He was eight pounds the other dog was a full size lab. There is an intermediary place for dogs that have the "same temperaments." Their only explanations for what happened were that I should understand that dogs are unpredictable and my dog "must have looked like prey" to the other one. Be forewarned that this is standard practice for them and your smaller dog could get hurt or killed. read more

When I tried to find the location I could not find it it just wasn't there so then I called them, and when I called them this girl answered the phone and said "hi is this best friends in Orem?" And I didn't understand why she was asking me that, so I said "uh I called you so I don't really get why you're asking me that" and then the girl said "oh I must have the wrong number" and then hung up... what the hell. I had work at 10:30 and I wasted 20 minutes of my time driving to this place that wasn't there and no I am late for work and my dog has no where to go. DO NOT GO HERE mainly because if you did there would be nothing to go to read more

This place is lousy. It is in a run down warehouse in the back of an auto body shop. The bigger problem is they were too lazy to do the required work to do a good job grooming your dog. The groomer came out to ask me what I would like. I gave very specific instructions on the length of hair to be left. Even specifically told her not to cut the hair around our dog's head. Because they are ignorant and lazy they simply shaved her completely including our dogs head. They cut the hair as short as they could everywhere. I highly recommend not taking your pet here. I will obviously not be returning. read more

I could not be more pleased! We took our sweetheart Agnes to the Ruff House for the week of Thanksgiving. At the end of her stay, we were given a report card of all her feedings and her overall health. They took such great care of my dog and really treated her as if she was their own. I couldn't be happier. We will for sure use Ruff House again. read more
