I do not typically leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share this experience so others can make an informed decision. We paid $72 each for a 4:00 PM tee time and arrived to find there were no carts available and a delay in getting on the course. We were told we could use the driving range while waiting, but there were no range balls available either. Once we finally got a cart, there was no starter, no ranger, and no apparent management of pace of play. A group of 6-7 golfers was holding up the first hole, and despite calling the pro shop, nothing was done. To add to the chaos, there were also kids fishing in areas of the course near the fairways. The bunkers were extremely below expectations, and the overall operation felt disorganized from start to finish. There was also a wedding taking place near parts of the course, though due to the delayed start and slow pace of play, we never made it far enough to see how much it impacted play. For a course that regularly charges over $100 during peak times, the experience simply did not justify the cost. Save your money and consider one of the many better-run courses in the area. read more

It's a cool course with several unique holes and is enjoyable to play but lacks in some important areas. Driving range provides free balls to warmup though it was mats only on my visit. There are no ball washers or bunker rakes and only 1 bathroom on course, though you will hit it once each on the front and back 9. Condition was fine, but there are lots of ground under repair areas and a surprising amount of soggy ground despite no recent rain. Greens do roll well. Carts have no GPS and the colored flags to indicate front/middle/back pin positions were not used so it's impossible to know exactly where you should be going. Pace was slow because it was a full course. We started 15 min later than our time and things only got worse. I saw the ranger a few times but he never stopped to speak with any groups, whether to improve pace, give an update, or simply be friendly. The pro shop feels like a clothing boutique, so not what you'd expect, but the staff are friendly and it has good seating/TV to catch a game, though it's not an obvious place you'd spend an extended period. The clubhouse is quite large and has a ton of event space. There is a snack window on the bottom floor and another set of restrooms on the lower floor that you'll encounter at the turn. Decor and general upkeep seem good for things like weddings/banquets. Restrooms are clean and have inside and outside entrances along with daily use lockers. They are shared by the golf and event spaces. Value isn't there at normal prices but if you can find a deal in shoulder season/twilight it MIGHT be worth it. Don't be sucked in by the famous Pete Dye designer pedigree. It comes through in the design but just isn't the full package you'd expect and are charged for vs. other options. read more

Was at two weddings there in the last 6 mos and they have a heater issue. We roasted at wedding number one and the other one was last night. None of the windows open - it was a sauna. Everyone complaining. Keep this is mind before booking in winter months. For some reason, they can't turn the heat down! Both of the weddings were in the same room. read more

Golfed 18 today 5/2/2026 and wish I could leave less than a 1 star review. Believe all of the reviews you read about the bunkers on GolfNow and other review sites. This has to be hands down the worst bunker conditions I've ever seen on a course. There is zero sand in the bunkers and they look like they all are under maintenance but that's just the way they are. People I have spoke to said it's been like this for a couple of years now. For 98.00 this inexcusable and embarrassed to golf. Do not play here and there are much better options for 98.00 in the area. read more

Extremely dissatisfied, practice range had 0 golf balls (had to pick up range balls by hand), there was no starter to begin anyone's round, had two golf carts die in the middle of the round (on the front nine!), bunkers in TERRIBLE condition (half of them on each hole had standing water, disgusting!) beverage cart girl was lovely though, very nice lady! Took 3 hours to complete 9 holes for a 4:15pn tee time. This course used to be amazing, I've seen it. Just not the same anymore and it's quite disappointing. She rudely interrupted our round telling us to speed up and that people are complaining that we are hitting 3 balls. with no basis she rudely accuses us with and and wouldn't leave us alone. We have been slowed by waiting for the group in front of us all day. If you want to retain your customers, please get rid of her. Golfed Wednesday after a rainstorm Tuesday night. Drainage doesn't seem the best. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Sand traps were concrete! Cart path was in horrendous shape! Impossible to avoid the potholes. I've never seen a cart path in such poor shape. Bar isn't open during the week so my group went down the road to Hamiltons. Wished they had a GPS on golf cart for this price point. Being my 1st time here I was a little disappointed in overall quality. read more

Not a typical Pete Dye Course. No GPS. Plenty of bathrooms. Not the best maintained course. Had lots of geese. People didn't repair ball marks. $40 for seniors in November and $55 for everyone else, so a pretty good deal for what kind of course it is. read more

Golf Course was a great bang for the buck. An interesting Pete Dye layout made for a lot of really cool golf shots. In addition, there was great hospitality from the starters and pro shop staff and we were able to finish in just over 4hrs. I will definitely be coming back to play a few more rounds. read more

This review is solely based on a party room, as I attended a Bat Mitzvah here a few weeks ago. The room was nice with a small dance floor. Decorated very lovely and everything matched! The bartender was hilarious and was amazing with drinks. Food was great and portions were average. Worst place. I tried to book my son's baptism celebration in March. Everything was fine on the phone, but when I got there to meet with one of the managers, responsible for events named Mr Taylor, he told me he preferred not to rent the space to people of color . I could not believe my eyes or ears. He told me that our Music is very loud and obnoxious. Then he started leading me to the door, saying good luck on finding a place. I started yelling at him and he pushed me out of the door and closed the door . I was looking on social media, and I realize that they are racist towards other races as well. I cannot believe that this place is still open. This place needs to be shut down.!! stay away from this place unless you want to be treated like dirt. There are NO ball washers on the course which is very odd. The 7th green had around 50 anthills. The course is in poor condition. A golf course needs to be appealing to the eye. It is not pretty to see so many weeds and bunkers have no sand but gravel and dirt. The locker rooms are so dirty . When this course opened it was so beautiful! It needs a lot of love to get it back to its prime. Hopefully someone turns it into a private course and brings it back up to par. read more

This review is for DINING ONLY. They have the fish fry going on and after golf decided to step in. The cod is amazing very good breading that is the perfect amount of crunch and inside is very moist. Exactly how it should be. Clam chowder was decent along with sides. Service was OUTSTANDING. It was so fast and 3-4 people were helping us out at a time. They were trying to over feed me and I loved it. Food and starters came out faster then anything I have ever seen, especially for made when ordered. I attended a golf outing and reception here, and have to say I was disappointed. The golf course was fine (I'm personally not a fan of seeing huge, new "mansions" down every fairway, but the course wasn't bad), and the dining was average, which probably makes it deserve 3 starts. What dropped this review to 2 stars? The golf course rangers! They really took away much of the enjoyment of playing in this golf outing, by hovering over us all the time, condescendingly talking to the women in our outing, and overall making it really uncomfortable for all of us. I didn't understand why they were even out on the course, given the fact that the outing had rented the entire course for the whole day. Pretty strange. Overall, the place is fine as a golf course and reception venue... but the golf course staff really need to change to make it a welcoming environment. read more

The golf course gets a 5-star rating however the dinning portion of ruffled feather needs to be totally revamped.

There's an old adage, you get what you pay for, which should have been a warning. $55 for 18 with a cart, range balls, and a free hot dog, sounds good. My regular foursome was enticed so we went on 8/29/24. First warning, walking into the "pro shop", it was sparse. I remember having played there a number of years ago, that the course was fun and challenging. It was a hot day and there was no water on the course. The cart girl was attentive and offered to sell us water if we wanted it. Each nine had a bathroom stop, but they were locked and the water fountains were removed. The course was in OK shape, not as I remembered it. The bunkers were either filled with water and/or lacking sand. The cart paths were an obstacle course. Obviously whoever is managing this course is milking it to get as much revenue out of it without maintaining it. After the round, we intended to have a beer in the clubhouse. The attendants at the cart shed told us the bar in the clubhouse wasn't open. We would have to get our beers at the halfway house at the bottom rear of the building. We could take the beers upstairs and sit inside, but the air conditioning wasn't working. We went to Cog Hill and had our beer there. Won't be back. It's a shame. read more

We had a phenomenal experience hosting a surprise bday party at Ruffled Feathers! Elysa was fantastic to work with, very professional and personable! She went above and beyond to make this a memorable event for my husband and all our guests. Many thanks to Lisa also, who was more than accommodating to all my special requests, and attentive to our guests during the party. Javier, our bartender was a accomplished mixologist providing our guests with an assortment of cocktails delivered with shot of joviality with each drink. The waitstaff was courteous and attentive. The food was exceptionally well prepared, we had many compliments afterwards about how delicious everything was! All in all, a wonderful evening thanks to the staff at Ruffled Feathers! As an out of state bride, my advice would be to not use this venue if you don't have plenty of time to visit as often as you need. While Colleen and Kathy are responsive via email, they were not helpful in terms of sending pictures or helping with a sense of the layout and decor options. As a bride, there are few things more stressful than not having a strong sense of how your big day is going to look. With that being said, I would recommend this venue if you live nearby. The food is AMAZING. I will say that again - the food is AMAZING. All of our guests are still telling us how great their dinners were. They're flexible with meal choices and were able to accomodate dietary restrictions. Dinner seemed a little rushed, but that might just be how weddings work. We were able to drive a few golf carts around to different spots for photos which was a blast! The venue has several beautiful spots for pictures, both inside and out. Colleen was great at setting up our decor for us. I dropped everything off the day before and let a list of how I wanted everything. Colleen took care of everything for us and made it all look very pretty. For our ceremony, we used the terrace room and had to ask the bar to turn the music off because we could clearly hear it from the ceremony room. I only mention that so it can be taken into consideration for future weddings. The dance floor was a good size and the layout of the room is completely flexible. The dance floor was important to me because other venues in the area had extremely small dance floors. I also enjoyed having access to the bridal suite throughout the evening, as it definitely came in handy to store our purses, extra shoes, etc. read more

Soley a golfing review. What a wonderful experience ! Yah - there were no GPS devices in the carts. Yah the pro shop was being ripped apart - literally. And yah, there were some parts of the course (entirely off the center of the course proper) that were in need of some TLC. But what a design ! What a wonderful change of form and function from your 'average' local golf course layout. When we played the pin placements were (excuse me) bitchy tough....tucked in corners and perched on top of crowns.....yikes. But it all had this feeling of 'fairness'. Strange and tough, but if you played what you had to good things happened. You already guessed that I had a heck of a round, but it was really something else. As a first timer on this course, I just hit the ball where my 'guide' told me to, and the rest was magic. Have fun...and don't blame me. read more

I just had my daughters bridal shower at this venue on May 28, 2015. Kathy, Teresa, Daniel, Riley and the other staff members where amazing. When we walked in the ball room the day of the party I was impressed, they did everything I asked for and more, it was absolutely breath taking. They set up the dessert and candy buffet for us, I was nervous it wouldn't look how we envisioned, but it was beyond our expectations. The food was delicious, there was a little hick up with the menu, but it was quickly resolved to my satisfaction. All my guests where raving how perfect and beautiful everything was. Thank you all for making my daughters day very memorable. Can't wait to have my other two daughters bridal shower there too. read more

Pete Dye course so of course it is prime. Rolling green architecture and challenging green placement will pique the interest of amateurs and pros alike. I really cant say enough of the course and the amenities of the RF. You would think this is a $30k Country Club, but its open to ordinary joes like you and I! Tell your friends. This facility is beautiful, and I've attended weddings and parties here, as well as eaten in their grill. Some days, the service and food are an absolute 5 star winners, and other days I'm completely underwhelmed. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I would go into the negatives if I could. My sister-in-law had her wedding here and it was the worst wedding experience I've ever been a part of. The photographers, bartender, and DJ, get all the credit for salvaging the day. The wedding planner was never to be found, no other employees offered to stop and help when we were clearly frustrated and lost, when a stand in planner showed up finally, he photo bombed special moments between my sister in law and her husband. Thankfully, the photography team was talented enough to work around that and still captured the moment, but their memory of that day will always be tarnished with this experience. The soup was burned and ruined. There wasn't enough place settings at some of the tables. Multiple things that were promised were not honored. The staff seemed put off any time we asked for help and the bride did most of the coordinating for the event herself. None of her decorations were ready when we arrived and setting things up took time away from photos. I would urge anybody considering this venue for their wedding to absolutely look elsewhere. So much unnecessary stress on a bride who had already been stressed enough being a "covid bride" who had to push her wedding back a year. They should pay her for coordinating her own wedding last minute. They live up to their name and certainly know how to ruffle peoples feathers. read more

The quality of golfers that play here is absolute trash and play extremely slow. They play at JB Holmes pace of play but are infinitely worse golfers that aren't breaking 100. I will never be coming back here again unless I feel like wasting 6 hours of my weekend. read more
