A lovely railway, it is amazing that this railway with it's 2.5 miles of well kept track and 4 lovely trains is run so well without any subsidies as railways take so much time and cost to run. This is all down to the incredible volunteers that run it. They could be a bit more friendly but they do it for the love of the trains and they do that well. A must do great fun ride for small and 'big' kids alike. read more

Ruislip Lido s is a perfect day out for everyone. There is free parking close to the water and a lovely paved walk all around the reservoir/ lake. There is a lovely sandy beach that is perfect for building sand castles or digging holes. On the beach is a wide assortment of climbing frames and toys. They have just installed a water area with lovely fountains with a non slip surface. Close to this play area is a coffee shop which is reasonably priced. Ruislip Lido is great place to spend a day any time of the year. It's worth a visit. read more

Well there arent many places you can go to in london, middlesex where you feel like you are somewhere else! having a man made beach with kids playground on the beach and another directly opposite the beach is handy for keeping an eye on the kids!! there is a pub with indoor and out door seating and ball play area indoors and outdoor climbing frame for the kids, to enjoy whilst mum and dad have a quiet sip. the main feature is the relaxed atmosphere with swans and ducks to feed, a steam railway ride to catch, nice walk plenty to do, or you can just relax and prtened to be a somewhere far from home... read more

Completely free!!! Ruislip Lido is a fun place to go. There is a big lake with lots of geese and ducks and a lovely walk around the outside of the water. There is a lot of new play equipment on the man made beach that is perfect for children between the ages of 5 and 12. There is a little steam train ( you have to pay to ride on this) and some lovely stations to stop at. At Christmas you can ride the train to Santa's Grotto. Everyone gets a present. It's a lovely morning out. read more

We visited Ruislip Lido pub 'Waters Edge' a few time son the evenings and wekends and found there is no proper ueuing system in the pub. People pushed in font of us and others and the bar staff served them first. the barriesr currently used in the carvery need to be used in the pub and have 2 separate queues or one queue. We have experienced this ourselves and have noticed it happening to others where they all stand in a line, and others come towards the bar and are served first. The staff do not give consideration to the fact as to whether there wasa queue or not. Also the toilets are always filthy and do not always hav toilet paper in them. They need more staff as they are now busy on a weekday and weekend. read more

This is a good place to go too when the weather is good. When I was there with my nephew last summer we had a lot of fun. We packed a picnic and had lunch there. There was a lot of people picnicking there too but it wasn't too crowded. We went on the railway and it took us to the other side where the beach is. There are lot sof things to do for kids and they will definately have a good time. I enjoyed myself too, it was good fun. the only downside is the parking. It is best you find a parking spot not too close by as it will be a bit hard to get out at the end of the day when everyone is leaving. Other than that it is a good place to take kids there for the summer holidays. read more
