This Manuel Ruiz is a con artist taking money from people without completing work, asking for payment early so he can get out of finishing jobs. He'll go around a neighborhood and say he worked on your neighbor's house, enticing you to do yours for a good deal since he's in the area. He'll tell you all of the neighborhood gossip while he's at it. He's more worried about what you do for a living, what everyone in the neighborhood does for a living, and how much money you have to give him for a job than actually doing the job itself. The crew started and got stucco f*cking everywhere. He got stucco on a keypad that was $700 to replace. When I told him he needed to fix the keypad, he used a solvent to try to get it off, then the solvent wouldn't come off, so the dipshits used a wire brush to try to get the solvent off. I ended up having to have the whole thing replaced. After he was denied an advanced to "make payroll" he never came back. I told him it was his problem that he couldn't make payroll and I already gave him more than half for the job and he needed to finish before he got the rest. I also told him he needed to finish cleaning up the stucco everywhere but again he never came back after that. He's very unprofessional, his crew is unprofessional, they constantly knock on the door and ask to borrow tools, ask to use the bathroom, ask stupid pointless questions. He even asked to get into my garage to reset a breaker rather than just asking me to reset the breaker myself. When I checked the outlet, it was working just fine. This guy took up front money "to buy materials' for a cement job he was supposed to do. He did put up some walls while he was waiting for "his guys" to show up and pour the cement. He kept stringing me along that they were going to show up, week after week. Then he called and said he was keeping my money and I owed him more money. The only consolation is he left his equipment here and I can sell it to recoup some of my money back. It will only cover half of what he owes me but at least I get some back. Review of Ruiz Lath and Plaster. We made a mistake when we hired this person. He walked off our job this morning and we were left with a mess. He claimed he couldn't meet our expectations and that I could keep the remaining half of my money. We hired Mr Ruiz to repair our entire house stucco and fog kote it the same color to blend the new and old stucco. He was late, disorganized, rude, and unprofessional. He left our house a mess and unfinished. The pictures show what Mr. Ruiz of Ruiz Lath and Plaster considers to be a professional job. The fog kote was drippy not uniform and the stucco repair patchwork was not anywhere near the best I've seen. I think Mr Ruiz promises what he can't deliver to get your business and then tries to bully you into accepting shoddy work with the explanation that it's somehow your fault. DO NOT HIRE. I hired Mr. Ruiz in April 2023 to re-stucco my house and paid him a $7500 deposit. He said he would take care of our house after they finished re-stuccoing my neighbor's house. We didn't hear from him for a while, and then he took care of my neighbor, and then we didn't hear anything. He came back to paint the soffits (which we paid for separately) and then he disappeared again. We texted several times and then he told us to wait, we were in line. Which is not what we originally agreed to. In Oct 2023, we finally made contact with him on the phone and he told us he took a job with a developer in Los Lunas who did not pay him and now he won't be able to finish our job. He said he would pay us back, but its been two more months and we haven't heard a word from him since. Mr. Ruiz took $7500 from us, did no work, and has not repaid us. read more
