Parking is free in the huge and well lit parking lot. Customers enter into a security room first and go to either the recreational line or the medical line. After showing ID to staff at the counter, customers are buzzed in through a locked door to the dispensary showroom. The staff here is knowledgeable and very helpful. Bloc Somerset also has a reward-point a program and offers discounts for different groups such as veterans and teachers. Customers can order online and everything is packed and ready to go. The business is cash only. An ATM is in the showroom. I like the progressive values of this business and that they support social justice organizations. For security, customers leave through a double chamber door. I'm grateful that this high quality dispensary opened close to home. I have never had an issue until Wednesday, July 15th. I had a disappointing/experience with the ounce I purchased and the way it was (not) handled. I was sold flower that the Silverleaf website lists as 38.58% total THC: 34.66% THC with THCa bringing total THC 38.66%. What I got was flower labeled 34.66.% total THC. THCa was not listed. I called the dispensary to discuss and ended up speaking to the manager. He started by condescendingly explaining how THCa works not once, but several times. I am well aware of how it works! I finally had to interrupt him from "explaining" it again to tell him my actual complaint. The label on the product DOES NOT include THCa as an ingredient. He then "explained" (made up) how the grower can choose to list or not list THCa as an ingredient at their discretion. I told him this makes no sense! Why would a grower indicate the total THC is lower on the label than it was advertised on purpose?! He offered no explanation for that. When I told him I was very dissatisfied, he offered no apology or compensation for this misrepresentation of the product. He "explained" that he nor Silverleaf apparently has no control or influence to change false advertising. I asked him if he was saying it was not his/Silverleaf's fault (problem) and he could not (would not) do anything about it. He confirmed it with silence. Needlesstosay I am still far from satisfied. BTW - I checked. NJ state law, DOES, in fact, REQUIRE that growers list THCa on the label. It is NOT left to the grower's discretion. Essentially, the manager/owner(?) was just making things up to get rid of me. Extremely unprofessional. Frankly, he sounded bored. For example, today, I went in to make a purchase. On the register beside me was a person who only spoke a different language but, one which I speak natively. When I jumped in to help, this employee insisted they spoke the language, understood the customer clearly, and needed NO help from me. Meanwhile, the customer is asking this employee questions and the employee is providing unintelligible, confusing answers. The employee clearly did not have a grasp on the language and was just confusing the customer further. The customer went so far as to continue asking me for help translating but, I was forced to recuse myself. This is no way to treat customers... especially if a customer is trying to HELP YOU MAKE A SALE! I found it to be borderline RACIST and downright ignorant. However, I kept my cool - proceeded with my purchase. As I left, I had a calm conversation with the current General Manager, Dionte... but, the person who needs to read and address this is the franchise owner. A few weeks back, this same employee took issues with questions I had about the changes to the loyalty program. I have been a retail employee for over 7 years and if I *ever* spoke like this to a customer, I would have been reprimanded or let go. If you are incapable of mustering the patience to address customer questions, then you do not belong in customer service. Period. The thing about, "you've just lost a customer" is that it starts to add up: One customer here.... Another there because they read a bad review.
