Returning from an early morning visit we both fancied a breakfast. More difficult than before when there were Little Chefs about but, we found, pubs had hit on the idea of opening early to serve this first meal of the day. This is where, one of out favourite pubs, came to the fore, The Rushbrooke Arms.
Opening at 9.00 am, on the dot, and serving a nice selection of breakfasts. We both chose a full English, one with scrambled and one with fried egg. It came with sausage, tomato, beans, wonderful rashers of bacon, mushrooms with a round of toast (brown or white) with butter. All washed down with either tea or coffee. All delicious with fantastic service by the one guy in the bar and, of course, those in the kitchen. Now the real gem, cost of all of this £9.99. Aw, come on, a real deal. Worth every penny and I don't know how they do it but.....carry on guys. Brilliant. read more
