Needed to grab lunch after visiting friends in the Hampton area. As they did a conference call I grabbed soup and half a panini at Rustic Brew -- great choice! Was a good excuse to see Hampton's cute downtown as well as get a really good bite. When I saw the special board I sort of wanted that salad.... And I was told there was one quiche special left. But I was hungry so I asked about getting half a panini (turkey with pepper jack) and half that special salad. Was bummed they had run out of feta, but moved to the potato soup and that was such a good move! Left there full and happy! read more

Bulldog Panini and the house made chicken salad on a croissant was a great lunch. Chips and a side salad rounded out the meal. The microbrew selection was nice and so was the ice tea. This little place embraces both meanings of "Brew"! Fresh brewed coffee in the morning and house-brewed beer in the evenings. We came for breakfast, so it was a BIT early for a beer, but I'm pleased to say that the coffee was excellent and quite fresh. I got a spinach and cheese quiche that was delicious, with a lot more spinach and cheese than egg, which is exactly how I like it. It also came with an orange muffin that was light and fluffy, with a decadently chewy top. I'm happy to say that, based on breakfast alone, I'm a big fan. My husband and I live in Chicago but were traveling through Iowa from Waterloo to Cherokee on Rt 3 for a few family reunions and were entering the small town of Hampton. I did a quick look on Yelp to see the options for lunch. The Rustic Brew surfaced as having quite a few good ratings and reviews. So we decided to give it a chance. It did not disappoint. The interior decor is welcoming and the people working there friendly. My husband had the daily special - lasagna. I had the grilled cheese with bacon. It felt like we were dropping by a friend or family member's home for lunch. Fresh ice tea. Great food. The prices were so reasonable! We talked to the owner at the end of the meal and heard more about the double meaning of "brew" - coffee and beer. Her husband is the brewmaster and has some great beers. Wish we could have stayed to drink a bit. Would definitely go back if we were ever in the area. read more

We were traveling across Northern Iowa and hoped to find a small town gem to eat lunch at. We definitely found that gem at Rustic Brew in Hampton! (Thank goodness we didn't settle for Hardees). The ambiance inside Rustic Brew was perfect - warm & inviting, homey, and just a place you wanted to relax among friends. The older building was painted and decorated beautifully. There were lots of little touches around that we enjoyed looking at after we ordered. The ladies working were super friendly. We arrived after 12:30, so there was only 1 lunch special remaining. Friday's lunch special was the lasanga & garlic bread, with a salad with cranberries & raspberry dressing. The lasagna had great taste and the serving size of the entire special was perfect. I had the burger and i was so happy with that decision. The size of the hamburger patty was awesome - thick (but not too thick), and it more than covered the sourdough bread used for the bun. I had asked for ketchup, but I'm glad that I didn't put any on the burger - the bbq sauce that was used was so good and all of the flavors melded perfectly. For $6-7 a meal, you just can't beat this! As we were eating our meal, we spied some trays of large chocolate chip cookies being pulled fresh out of the oven. Sold! We asked our waitress if we could get fresh ones to go, and she happily wrapped them up for us. read more

Wish we ate lunch here so stopped to check it out. Free beer samples were a great way to pick our favorite. The service and rustic ambiance was great. We liked the little gifts, choice of growler sizes, different seating options, murals and flooring. read more

Brew Chick panini is amazing. The coffee is the closest thing you will get to a Starbucks in miles! The dried cranberries on the salad is a nice touch with the raspberry dressing and the desserts are delicious. I've never had anything but paninis, desserts, and coffees, but I'm sure everything else is great. They also have craft beer, wine, and many cute home items for sale that would make great gifts. read more

I love this place!! Kathy and Joel are AMAZING and it is a must-go every time I come home! I never leave Hampton without stopping to say hi, which always results in buying a drink or something to eat. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu or on the drink list. Chai Teas are my favorite--lots of different flavors available! I'm not much of a beer person, but loved the cucumber beer! I would highly recommend the Bulldog sandwich, Potato soup, or the hot beef sundae. Make sure you're hungry if you order the hot beef--it's HUGE! read more

Visited this business because I had a couple of hours to pass, waiting for dog groomer to work her magic (around the corner). Enjoyed the breakfast croissant and coffee in a non-hurried way. Met one of the owners who gave me some of the history of how they came to open the business...charming! Next time I will have the chicken sandwich for lunch, since it is made by the owner (cooks 50lbs+ per week). Added touch was tasting thimble sized samples of their specialty beer brews (I'm NOT a 'day drinker'). I had planned to fill a growler before I arrived in town, and, I'm NOT dissapointed in their Oatmeal Stout (has a hint of cocoa after taste). It's lighter tasting than Guiness and every bit as satisfying. I'm torn between repeating that choice or trying their summer brew Cucumber & something. I would drive the 30 minutes from Mason City again for their beer! Wait staff very sweet and hooked me up with a hairdresser...another plus, since I couldn't get an appointment on my time schedule for the past two weeks. Thanks Alissa! Owner had a large shower party in their back room arriving just as I was leaving. The space was perfect for that...and no one has to clean their house after the melee.
