I been coming to Rusty for over 3 years.. check my old review.. this visit has solidified that i have experienced the worst service ever. Its as if the waitress was ignoring me and my friend intentionally. Taking her phone out to put makeup on.. chatting with friends. The only reason i was serviced is because the person next to us knew her by name and was asked me if i needed anything and he got her attention. I asked for my check 4 times. And she would leave and go about her business and handle other task. I had to get up and go by the cashier to finally get the bill taken care. If i didn't have my card on the tab. Im sure i could have left and they would have not noticed because we were intentionally getting ignored. Whoever the owner is. Go look at the camera. This is no lie. It did take 20 minutes for my tacos to get out but it wasn't too bad. However, I also ordered the single serve nachos with steak at the end to go, and was disappointed when I got home and they were missing the cotija cheese, enchilada sauce, avocado crema, guacamole, and black bean puree. I've walked by this place many times but the name is so random I never go inside. I decided to try it before heading back to Cali and I'm glad I did! Pretty good good with pretty good tacos. The service was impressively quick and everyone was super nice. You order at the bar and are given water right away and literally two seconds later your food comes out. It's a nice casual fun vibe to enjoy with friends. I'll be back! Love all the taco banners and signage and good variety of taco options. My only suggestion was the shrimp taco I got could use either some beans in it, a cilantro crema, maybe mango or pineapple salsa or use prawns. The shrimp taco with purple cabbage was pretty one and was missing 1-2 things to elevate it. Literally smack dab in the middle of ASU. Take that info with what you will. We walked in around 2:15 on a Saturday once the spring semester ended, so it could've been much worse. They had the registers where you'd order closed and literally had one bartender manning the bar and taking every single order. We did have to wait a bit to order. My friend ordered two crispy fish tacos and a side of chips and queso. The "side" of chips and queso could've been an entire meal they gave you so many chips. My friend said to make sure I emphasize how delicious the queso was in this review lol. She enjoyed her fish tacos; her only complaint was that she wished there was a little more fish. I ordered the chicken fajita taco and the black bean taco. Both on flour tortillas. The black bean taco was super liquidy that I tilted it sideways and the liquid from the beans created a lake in the boxes the tacos come in. I didn't let that deter me though, as it was still super flavorful. I was grateful that it came with two tortillas because otherwise a single tortilla would've been soaked before it came out. I preferred the chicken fajita more. The chicken was tasty and not dry at all. My only gripe was that the pepper slices were bigger than I'd liked. But it's okay, it was a fajita taco afterall. Oh, and can we talk about the churros? I typically don't like filled churros but these are probably the best I've ever had.
