What's nice…read moreabout the campgrounds is they have a refueling station for boats if you pull up to the dock and ask for the gas attendant. She will help you refuel your boat. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. It has a lot of tables and the night we were dining they had one really large party of about 12 women, so they can accomodate large groups. They have a TV playing loudly in the corner, which is sort of distracting but not terrible. Next to the restaurant they have a small shop selling food, candy, and camping essentials. For my entree I ordered the chicken fried steak which also came with a salad and mashed potatoes. I had never seen chicken fried steak made that way before, but maybe this is how they make it up north? I am from Texas, and there the steak is breaded just like you would bread fried chicken with a sort of white crunchy outer layer. Here, the dough was brown and smooth. I prefer the southern way of making chicken fried steak. The gravy helped to add some flavor though. If I came again I'd order the porkchops, bc those looked tastier.

When we went (September) there was a farmer's market. There were ducks and geese in the water. The place was clean; no garbage around - plenty of places to throw trash. Our original site was not suitable for our truck and trailer, but after speaking with a Corp of Engineers' representative, we were moved into a site that worked well for us. The camp host was helpful and we enjoyed our time at this spot. A gas station, little store and other amenities were within walking distance. The beach was close and boating, paddle boarding and other water spots were enjoyed by all. We were there over the 4th and could see fireworks from several different spots.
