I've been here once but based on the visit, I wouldn't necessarily come here all that often because a) it's fast food (burgers & fries & pop), b) it costs about 11€ for a meal (expensive), c) being fast food means you're in and soon you're out (not really a place to hang out). Also, I wouldn't be able to come here alone with my baby since there are steep steps to reach the restaurant which is problematic with a baby stroller. I had the veggie burger and it was quite tasty but fairly small. The fries were ok but nothing spectacular - unlike people seem to think. :) If I worked right by this place, I might drop in for a quick lunch = burger meal every now and then but it's likely I would take my money elsewhere.

Jack the Rooster is a Rock bar which has live music most days of the week. On Sundays (Jam Night) they have a house band which offers a really unique experience. You get the opportunity to request the songs that the band plays, but you also get to be part of the band. For example, you can request a song and then replace the singer for the song you chose. This is really cool because you can replace as many or as few members of the band as you'd like. It's like kareoke for all musicians! You play drums, no problem, replace the drummer. You sing and your buddy place bass, cool, replace the bass player and the singer. It's really a cool idea and always a blast to watch. The musicians in the house band are extremely talented and there aren't many songs they can't nail. There is also a karaoke room in the bar, so no matter what else is going on, you can sing some karaoke any night! Go on a weeknight and you might even get the room to yourself for you and your friends. Now on to the food. The food is great, the burgers are amazing, but they've also got some unique things happening in this area too! First, the death burger. This is a food challenge, so you have to consume the entire burger on 30 mins without drinking any milk. This burger has about half a bottle of Ahjo hot sauce in the burger and even more on top, and trust me, that stuff is HOT! In addition, you have to finish the fries which are sprinkled with naga chili spice. Jack the Rooster also hosts a special dinner night called Hell's night twice yearly which features an original recipe spiced up menu. You can pick your item based on the skull rating, 2 skulls is moderate and 5 skulls will have you on fire. I had the Russian roulette. This meal was 5 meatballs with mashed potatoes... but here's the catch, only on of those meatballs was a 5 skull naga chili meatball. I hit that meatball second and it was so hot I felt like I was on drugs. I had to down pints of milk to bring me back to reality. :) On Monday nights in the summer they host a really cool event, Reggaeta & Makkaraa (Reggae and Sausage). They have live reggae music and free sausages fresh from teh grill! Yes, that's right, free! Might I add, this terrace gets sun alllll day and allll evening. I first gave three stars because I thought the menu was too expensive. Now I've changed it to five stars because Malabadi has become a favorite restaurant. The food is tasty and they've done an amazing job with the interior decoration of the place. It's great for lunch and also very nice for dinner with friends. Malabadi in Tammela is the second Malabadi to open in Tampere with the first one being in Hervanta. The prices in Tammela are a bit higher and the menu differs from Hervanta. While the Hervanta restaurant is more "homey" with darker colours used for decoration, Tammela restaurant is very very stylish and they've made the restaurant light and bright with big windows and light colours in decoration. The lunch buffet is great with warm meats, pizza, vegetables and a large salad buffet with all kinds of very tasty salads with spices. The salad buffet is partially like a meze buffet with marinated olives & garlic, couscous salad etc but it is mixed with more traditional items like mushroom salad and water melon cubed. The price for the buffet was 10,50e which is kind of expensive in the area it is in but perhaps they're making up for the big renovation costs or trying to be profiled as a more classy restaurant. I was happy to pay the price for the nice set of flavours and the seat on the patio in the sun but my husband complained ;) I expect the place to be very very popular at lunch time and fairly popular in the evenings. I definitely will keep returning for the lunch buffet and a great chicken kebab in the evening.
