Tofu Nuggets(5)
Sivasa L.

My wife and I were in the area to pick up something from a resident and we got really hungry. Both of us were craving Ramen and my wife knows how picky I am with mine. We found this place and were not disappointed. We had the tofu nuggets as well as potato pancakes as appetizers and these things were amazing. The sauce for dipping was also very tasty. My wife and I both had vegetarian Ramen bowls and everything was as good as it looked. I would've liked to have a little bit more seasoning in the broth but it was still VERY good! The Ramen noodles were a perfect texture and a great consistency between two soft and too tough. The service was great! Our server checked on us probably more times than I've ever had a server check on us and we appreciated it. The dining inside was very peaceful and calm and spacious. We almost took our food to go but I'm happy we stayed. We left satisfied and happy that we found this place. We will definitely be visiting again!

We always choose Ryūjin for taking our guests from Japan to check out American ramen noodles. And again never disappoints, they enjoyed it.

Went here to try their ramen and I have also been to their Sacramento location. The inside of the restaurant had beautiful decor and service was absolutely excellent. The ramen however I would not classify this as Japanese ramen. The taste of the broth did not taste authentic to me and noodle texture was just ordinary. I've eaten at a lot of ramen spots so I guess I have high standards for ramen. I would just say te ramen is just okay and definitely would not consider it Japanese ramen.

Tucked in the corner of the shopping area, you may miss it. And, parking can be an issue during busy times. The interior decor is really nice and more upscale than one would expect. I came in for lunch over a weekend. Service was prompt and friendly throughout the meal. They have a large selection of ramen dishes plus appetizers and other items. My ramen was served quickly, hot and in a good sized bowl with proper (real chopsticks) serving utensils and a soup spoon. I selected the Ada (Red) Tonkotsu which is on the spicier side. The ramen broth had deep flavors and great spice. I could have requested hotter spice, but wanted to sample the original recipe. Pork was tender, sliced thin and also had great flavors. I wish there were more than just two slices of the pork though. All of the other ramen veggies were a great compliment in the dish. Ramen noodles were plentiful, and were prepared al dente which gave them a good 'chew' not slimy. Overall, a great lunch or dinner spot.

In a nutshell; Good ramen, great interior, and good service. Feels almost semi fancy walking in with the interior designed like a fancy restaurant. Was seated rather quickly on a weekday after dinner rush. Staff was nice. Didn't take too long to get my order. Ramen was great and a nice way to end a cold day. Overall pleasant experience all around. Nice place to spend a nice date at.

Came here and were nostalgic for ramen, as I loved Ryujin in Sacramento. Was an up-scale version. Really fancy decor and cutlery. Was about $60 for two of us, $17.50 for ramens, we got chicken too for $10, and $6 for an ice cream. Then they did the 18% lowest gratuity thing. Service was good, we got our food pretty quickly. Wasn't as tasty as I remembered and I ran out of noodles in very few bites. Very few. Took the broth home to eat with too ramen I guess.

Interior- definitely more posh than the store in Sac

We got: Karaage 9.50- crispy, thin breading, good amount of chicken, comes w lemon wedge & mildly spicy mayo sauce Kuro ramen $17.50- good. I remember it being yummier... the broth didn't taste as rich, not sure if it's this location. Hubby thinks the sac location gave more red ginger. I don't like ginger so that didn't bother me. Katsudon $16, delicious. We got ours without onions / green onions for hubby's allergy. otherwise it'd be even yummier. Hubby had never had donburi and was pleasantly surprised by how much he liked it Taiyaki $6, dessert not on menu, matcha and strawberry flavors. We got the matcha which had a thin layer of red beans inside along w matcha ice cream, was pretty good. We thought it'd be the hot version not ice cream. Hmm i think we like fukumi better now... Broth: fukumi Chashu: fukumi's is thicker and more flavorful (although the last time we had at folsom was not as tender) Egg: ryujin egg is better, fukumi's was a bit bland Price: similar. Ryujin used to be cheaper than fukumi but now about same

Beautiful restaurant - modern Japanese flare with comforting vibe. We came across this restaurant after a Holiday Church Service. Party of 10 and they were able to accommodate us quickly. Great menu selection. Food was tasty and the service was nice. Other reviews mentioned a sister store in Sacramento, not sure if its the same one on S Street but we are really glad we came. Will come again. Friendly staff, place is clean, nice selection menu.

Sake bombs!

Hands down, our favorite ramen shop! Ryujin in Sac is the only place we enjoy for taste, ambiance, and service. We've tried a lot of places and we always come back to Ryujin. We've tried ordered: *Gyoza *Geso *Tonkotsu ramen *Hiyashi Chuka *KatsuDon *Sake flight *Sake bomb Our dishes were great and came promptly. Our favorite Sake from the flight was the Saika Yuzushu with hints of yuzu, refreshing!

Table set up

We came for a weekday lunch. We were seated quickly since there was only a smattering of other diners. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, & pretty. I liked the decor, table set up, & music. The server who initially took our order was friendly & helpful, but we weren't checked in on. Another server offered a refill only when we requested a to-go container & were about to leave. Our 2 dishes came with a notable lag time between them. We thought the food we ordered was good. Tsukemen--A smaller portion of food with a nice mix of tastes & textures. Katsu Don--A hearty portion of food with pork that was thick & cooked nicely. However, the pork itself wasn't seasoned. For flavor, you needed the tasty sauciness that was absorbed into the egg part of the dish. I really liked that togarashi was brought to the table for seasoning. Overall, a good meal experience.

I really liked my ramen egg and the mushroom in my ramen. I'm not a huge fan of how thinly cut the meat was, kind of a stingy move. Overall I thought the ramen was good

The ramen was really good. Thank you for taking us in 10 minutes before closing, they still treated us amazingly even though we were on a lunch crunch. Calm ambiance and quick service made it even better.

I've been to the downtown Ryujin many times and was excited to try this new location, but unfortunately, it felt like an off night for the food. The service was great, and the staff were attentive throughout our visit. We had reservations for 7 PM, and when we arrived, there were only two other tables occupied. I don't think many people know about this location yet, but I'm sure it will get busier as word gets out. As for the food, the fried oysters (kaki) were cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauce. However, the chicken wings were underwhelming--soft rather than crispy, bland, and in need of sauce. I ordered my usual, the AKA (red Tonkotsu ramen), but this time it was lukewarm and lacked its usual depth of flavor. We also tried the miso ramen, which turned out bland as well. Usually, miso broth has a noticeable salt base, but this one seemed extra light. Overall, I wish there had been more flavor in all the dishes we ordered. I'm hoping this was just an off night, as I've had better experiences at their downtown location. I'd still recommend making a reservation just to be safe if you plan to visit.

Automatically taking in the ambience of the restaurant, it felt really clean and has a nice dim light that makes the dining experience feel private. The service was very attentive and they'll do a temperature check on how the food is with you after you receive your meal and they were all genuinely very friendly. 10/10 for the service, no doubt. For food, we ordered their "Fukumi Ramen" and their chicken karaage . Chicken karaage came out first and was freshly fried. The coating was amazingly light and the chicken itself was flavorful. It comes served with a lemon wedge and tiny pieces of salad and the dressing in the salad was delicious! For the Fukumi Ramen bowl itself, the initial taste of the broth was flavorful and the black garlic oil was a nice touch. You'll immediately notice how thickkkk their chasu slices are and I think the free order of extra noodles is a nice plus. However, the thin noodles served with the Fukumi Ramen bowl seemed like a lighter color than I normally see at ramen places and the noodles were overcooked so I feel like it obscured the overall taste of the ramen itself since ramen noodles make up so much of the bite. Even though the extra noodles were free and a nice complimentary addition, I feel like I could tell why because the ramen noodles lacked the quality the rest of the bowl had. The tamago egg was decent and I was surprised because it looked like a plain white boiled egg rather than the traditional brown seasoned egg you get in ramen. Overall, I think Fukumi Ramen can do the job of satisfying a cold rainy day, and I think with their wide variety of ramen options, you'll definitely have to try and find one that might hit for you! Portions are huge here too so it might take a couple visits to try more options!

The thing that ticked me was when our ramens came out, we tried the broth and it was nice, but my bf shortly noticed we didn't have any eggs. Took quite a while for staff to notice us for us to call them over. Once we told the waiter (not the guy that brought tables the katsus) he asked us which ramens we ordered to see if they come with eggs, *All of them come with eggs except for kids ramen* and then he asked if we were sure it wasn't there and if it wasn't just buried under our ramen. We were looking at him with our ramen bowls still full to the top shuffling around our noodles to prove to him there's no eggs. Like i get mistakes happen, I wasn't upset about the beer, the no water refills, or the egg missing; it was just the way that waiter questioned us about it that made the meal sour. Unfortunately, after giving it two separate chances, I don't think I'll be coming back. The first time I tried Fukumi Ramen was about six months ago. We got on the waiting list and were told we'd receive a text when our table was ready. After waiting longer than the estimated time, we went back inside only to be told we weren't actually on the waiting list. Frustrating, but we decided to give it another shot and asked to be added again. After waiting even longer, we came back only to find out we still hadn't been put on the list. By that point, nearly an hour had passed, we were hungry, and we ended up leaving. I understand technology issues happen, but it was disappointing, especially when we watched people who arrived after us get seated before us. A few months later, we decided to try again. This time we were seated, but the experience still wasn't great. We asked if any booth seating was available because the bar-style seating isn't very comfortable for us. We were told there weren't any available at the moment, but that they would transfer us when one opened up. When a booth became available, it was immediately given to another party that arrived after us. When we asked about it, we were told we would have needed to be on a waitlist for a booth. That wasn't communicated to us beforehand. We asked to be added to the booth waitlist, but despite several booths opening throughout our meal, nobody ever followed up with us again. The ramen itself was okay, but the tonkotsu ramen was much spicier than I expected. The menu didn't clearly indicate the spice level, and I wasn't aware that the spice couldn't be adjusted. I later found out I would have needed to request the spicy component on the side. I think having clearer menu descriptions and spice-level information would help avoid that confusion. Not the employees' fault, just disappointing. Between the waiting list issues during my first visit and the lack of communication during my second visit, I left feeling more frustrated than satisfied. I felt like I was really annoying the staff both times and there was no remedy or explanation offered for the issues. As someone who has worked a lot in customer service I know how it feels to be on the other end of a difficult customer and I truly wasn't trying to be a jerk :( I know many people love this place, but after two disappointing experiences, I don't see myself returning.
