What's great about SnoStation is that they run several properties in the area so they'll provide what's available within your budget and range. I was able to book a 2 bedroom (4 person max) for 4 nights from Sat - Wed for only 630 euros (yes, a bargain!). It was in a great convenient location with bars, supermarket, equipment rental shop and bus stop that are minutes away. The place was really cozy - probably ideal for a family as the bunk bed room was so small and without any windows, but at the end of the day you barely spend time there anyway. It was nice having a full kitchen. What really impressed me was how helpful they are in arranging anything from lessons to lift passes and airport transfers. I'd highly recommend booking through them if this is your first time in Chamonix.

It is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Plus they provide tea and cookies in the later afternoon. Although the rooms are small, I found them beyond adequate. They provide bathrobes and slippers, provide soaps, shampoo, and lotions, and have nice bathtubs in the room. Our showerhead was one of those rain showerheads, which I really enjoyed. Plus, the free wifi works in the rooms. My only warning is to tall people - the ceilings are slanted and quite short, making it difficult for the tall gentleman on my trek. There is a car shuttle which they will use to take you to the bus stop, dinner or into town (though town is literally 3 minutes from the hotel.) My only suggestion would be to have a ski shuttle which could take guests to the various mountains--La Tour is a 40 minute bus ride and its an 8 minute walk to the bus stop with your skis, boots etc. Overall, a lovely hotel in a good location.
