Kind service & so much fun. Did a Monday with kids & took us less than three hours. Can't wait to do it again!

This was my first time tubing in a river! This place is almost two hours from Milwaukee! There's no cell phone reception but you'll have a great time without it. Make sure you download music before you leave home, and bring a speaker to play it as you ride along the river. When you arrive, there's not a ton of parking. I would recommend parallel parking on the streets and NOT parking in the 2 hour spots- those indicate that they will tow. Once you park, you go in a small building a pay for tubes. I believe it's $20 per person and $10 per "cooler tube". In the pictures attached you can see both types of tubes. This place is cash only!! They also have dog tubes. Not sure how much they cost, but they are pink and don't have a hole in the bottom. If you can snag a dog tube I would totally recommend riding in that as the water can get cold, and all my friends said their butts were really cold in the water. One of my friends and I did not have that issue with the dog tube. So once you get tubes, your coolers are checked for glass bottles! They are not allowed. They'll hand you ties to rope all your group's tubes together. You can see what I mean in the photos attached. From there you go to the river and basically tie all the tubes together, get in, and float for 4-5 hours! I would absolutely recommend taking some types of paddles/oars as we often ended up floating towards the banks of the river and had to find ways to push ourselves out. There were a few places you could get out of the river along the way, but at the first stop my friend got out and ended up walking into a bee hive! Stung 5 times. There's no first aid on the river, so if something like this happens to you unfortunately you just have to deal with it. It might make sense to bring a first aid kit just in case! In total there are four "markers" along the river. The exit comes after the fourth marker. When you go under the bridge you know you're nearing the end. When it's time to exit the river, there are employees that instruct you to stand and exit the river, leaving the tubes and all coolers behind. They pull all the tubes in and pass the coolers to you. There are a few portable restrooms there but I didn't use them. We then boarded a school bus (image attached) that took us on a 7 minute ride back to the original ticket purchase building, and that's the end. Overall, I thought it was fun. I didn't like that I had to pay in cash and I also did not enjoy that we were told we'd float for 3.5 hours and ended up floating for almost 5! read more

Distance was great, much longer than other tubing I've done. Tubes were comfy and shuttle was nice. Only 4 stars cause the worker was just like "here's your tubes, bye" and we had no idea where to launch or anything. Great time otherwise. read more

We had a good time until we noticed a bunch of our things were stolen (iPhone, epic-pen, inhaler) out of our cooler WHILE floating down the river!!!! Yes, it was the weekend of the 4th and extremely crowded, but I guess we forgot that we live in a screwed up world now and trusted our belongings to be safe dragging behind us. Lesson learned. Be vigilant. Also, I know the river current is out of the company's control, but they need to update how long it truly can take. It took us 5 1/2 hours to get finished. If I had known that, we definitely would've gone someplace else. read more

I went to S&B with my friend for her birthday. Everything seemed a little chaotic as we were waiting in line to pay. As someone who had never been there before it was very confusing. Luckily I spotted my friend who had been there before and she was able to walk me through the process. I think the workers hurry you along assuming you know how everything runs. The experience on the river was incredible but due mostly in part to the company we were with. The tubes were fine and didn't fail us. Getting out of the river was super easy. The workers were really nice and explained everything. The buses come quickly which was cool since it was hot. We really didn't have to wait too long. When we were dropped off back at the building we quickly got off the bus onto a sidewalk by a bridge. As I stood their waiting on our friends group who were looking over the bridge, another bus pulled up really fast and hit me in the shoulder with the large mirror that was sticking out. I was standing on the sidewalk but the mirror on the bus sticks out quite a bit and the bus driver wasn't paying attention. I was in a lot of pain and really embarrassed so I wanted to just leave but someone in our party said we really needed to let them know what had happened. We went into the building and spoke to an older woman. She said the drivers name was Randy. I told her I didn't think anything was broken because I had full mobility, I was just really sore and embarrassed from the attention. I was surprised they didn't have us fill out an incident report.. didn't take my name.. nothing. I work at a sporting facility and if someone so much as slips or bonks something somewhere we have to fill out something just in case. read more

I was very disappointed about no covid precautions. The staff are not wearing masks, neither keeping the lines with a safe distance between groups. It is just normal business like nothing is going on. I was feeling very uneasy and I would not recommend it. It was supposedly to be a fun afternoon but it was very stress. Update July 10th: After they were mentioned on a local news report they sent a message on Facebook that they will be closed for one day to include covid precautions on their business. I am especially interested in what they will do regarding the bus rides.Anyway sounds like the staff will not be wearing masks, so it is a no thanks for me. Although masks are not required, it would show respect and consideration to customers. read more

We had a blast. Bring life vests for younger kids so you know they are properly fitted. My 3 yr old could've used a better one. $15 pp and $5 for cooler tube, no glass or styrofoam and they do check. You buy your wrist bands first in the office and sign a waiver. Tubes are ring tubes for adults (blue), square for coolers (yellow, or let it float but at your own risk and skip the fee), pink for kids with a bottom (I wanted a bottom tube but know there is no drink holder). Beware they all flip easy. Have someone watching the kids always. Next get in line for cooler check and off you go! No one helps you drop in. Bring a better cord or rope or carabiners to make it easier on your group. They provide twine which works too but it's knot and go. The drop in is rocky so wear shoes. There is staff at the end that will take your tubes, you get on bus to head back, 5 min ride. It took us 4 hrs with 2 pit stops in sandy shallow areas for the kids to get out and play. Bring a waterproof bag. I left my car fob in my bag and they were submerged. Thankfully they still worked. Bring a Bluetooth speaker or music. It was packed. Hundreds of groups. We went 11am-3p on a Sunday. I wanted to go again and make a day of it. read more

When my family and I arrived at S & B Tubing I had to go to the restroom. We've all been there after a few hours packed into a car. I wasn't thrilled when I saw port-a-potties outside but was impressed at how clean and well kept they were. The staff was really nice, a guy explained exactly what was going to happen before we grabbed our tubes. I didn't have any questions when we were turned loose to get tubes. I also appreciated the "dog tube," allowing our puppy to float alongside us. The float trip took around 4 hours and other than a few sticks poking out of the water, the river was calm and peaceful. The twine was clutch, we were always right next to our group. Although it would've been nice to have the tubes already twined together, it wasn't that big of a deal. There were also a few flat areas to stop and reapply your sunscreen, eat food you packed, etc. Getting out of the tubes at the end was easy and convenient. They had steps to get out and took care of the tubes and our belongings. All I had to do was use the hose to wash off my feet and sandals. After washing off we took a seven minute ride back in a cool-looking blue bus. We went pretty fast and it was hype jamming out, a really fun atmosphere. read more

Been to another tubing place this one is WAY better. There was a lot of people when we arrived so i'm going to break it down. 1. Get in line to pay at the building, 2 restrooms are inside. When you pay you can give them your car key and they give you a number so you won't lose the key while you are tubing. 2. Then you get in line for the cooler check (no glass - they will take em) 3. After the cooler check, move to the next spot for tubes. Make sure to get some string to tie yourselves together. 4. Grab the tubes then follow the line to the water. *Water shoes are a must since you'll do a fair amount of walking on the cement. So glad I had em on me. It will take about 4-5 hours on the river and you'll have a blast At the S&B exit there are stairs and a platform, if you have coolers they'll take care of them for you and a couple of Porta Pottys. Then get on the bus to be shuttled back. My only word of caution MAKE SURE they load your cooler on the bus though - our group lost a cooler for a few hours. They have about 4 buses running and after the 4th bus we called it and left our number. We were hungry, tried and wanted to get some food. We had to come back around 7 to get the cooler that finally made its way back to the start. Had a blast will be coming back again soon and definitely for the years to come. read more

I live in Albany and am on the sugar river, often. Though, typically with my own kayak. S&B tubing has been in business for at least 7 years now, and I've lived here the whole time and seen them grow. An important note - this review is about the BUSINESS, NOT some of the drunken a-holes that choose to rent tubes from them.... That said, the folks at S&B take safety very seriously and do work closely with the village and in the community to try and control/minimize the impact of drunken bad actors and actresses.... The folks that work at S&B have all been very friendly. I have heard complaints but, it's always been from drunks or people that are mad when they tell people NO GLASS BOTTLES on the river. Really. People, are you serious, bringing glass bottles on a tubing trip, so they can get broken and slice open peoples' feet? Anyway, something MOST people do not realize...during the quiet times of the work week, when all the drunk tubers are back home behaving themselves...the staff at S&B float and kayak the river, and pick up all the damn garbage and trash you idiots left behind! I've seen them with trains of tubes and kayaks all tied together, loaded with trash! So, YAY for you! read more

We had to wait in line for around 3+ hours to go tubing because we happened to show up on the busiest day they'd had all summer. We still had so much fun! It was the perfect summer day and it was really relaxing. I felt bad for the people that were forced to rent kayaks because they ran out of tubes. Tip: there is a general store across the street that sells coolers and ice cream cones for very cheap. read more

THE PERFECT SUMMER ACTIVITY! Just 40 minutes from Madison. We went with a large group (~50 people), but it would be fun for a small party as well. Tubes are comfortable and they also sell cooler tubes so you can have your refreshments with you on your trip. Don't forget to grab string to string your tubes together. It's a really pretty, relaxing ride. If you want a more relaxing experience or you're bringing kids, I'd recommend trying a Sunday or a weekday because there will be a lot of loud partiers on a Saturday. We saw wild horses!!! Yay!!! It definitely takes like 4-5 hours so be prepared for that. read more

Perfect activity for the summer!! This was a desire I never knew I had. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend a hot day floating down a river in an inner tube with their friends and a stocked cooler?? Very reasonable cost, they have a TON of tubes (couldn't imagine them ever running out), took a little over 3 hours to float all the way down, and they have a shuttle that picks you up at the end to being you back (like a 5 minute drive). They also have kayaks and canoes. I'll definitely be returning next summer, because this is great! read more

Love love love this place. Relaxing tubing where you can spend some quality time with family or friends. I prefer not to take the kiddos because most groups party since you can bring booze in the coolers in non-glass containers. I recommend plenty of sunscreen, water shoes (floors get rocky), a waterproof speaker and water proof cases for your phones. Our group usually extends the ride by tying off and hanging out to eat a few times. All in all a great ride and lots of fun for adults. read more

Really fun day with my family. Very organized and nice staff. The kids loved swimming alongside the tubes and it was super relaxing for the adults. The trip down the river takes about 4 hours so be sure and bring sunscreen - so many sunburned people at the end! read more

There is no system to handing out tubes. They started handing out tubes to people at the back of the line, they are the make shift tubes, but it gets them on the river. People started walking out of line to ask for tubes. Would definitely not come back. read more

two days in a row made the journey out to s&b and BOTH days they were closing, it's was 1:30 in the middle of the day and it specifically says on their website they close at 3:30 and that "weather... levels may effect our hours. Please check this page if you have any questions" and NOTHING on their about closing. They closed when there was a 15% chance of rain at 5 o'clock!!!! Don't waste your time and gas cuz they'll probably close early anyways. Won't be back that's for sure! read more

I had a real good time going down the river on a really hot day. The prices are reasonable but I think it's because you really don't go to far down the river for it to warrant higher prices. What's really cool is you see some large groups having a good time floating down the river all tied together. I can see where it would get really busy but we had no problem. They do have canoes and kayaks but I would say this place is more about the tubes. In a canoe or kayak the trip would only take about an hour, but on a tube it can take over three. The staff was great from the people at the counter, to the people setting you up, taking you out, and driving you back. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area, it was that much fun. read more
