The jewellery sets come as a whole set (including posh necklace, earrings, and bangles) or you can just purchase the one off items. They've had a nice refurb since my last visit, and the place looks a lot nicer. Always haggle a little in here, as you can usually get a discount. A great shop, and good customer service considering that they have a lot of competition on this busy shopping road. If you do plan on spending some time here, then best park round the corner by the S N D Supermarket, as the road and side roads are too busy.

It's a traditional jewellers shop, rather than the jeweller/pawn brokers which seems to be the norm now. They will buy in unwanted gold and jewellery but they do not offer any kind of cash loan service, I've sold to them once or twice and got a fair price for the scrap gold I had - more than if I'd left all the broken chains and odd earrings sitting in my jewellery box! This is a popular jewellers so if you see something in the window or display case that you really want then I suggest you buy it or leave a deposit as they have a high turnover and tend to have completely different items by the following week. Even if I'm not planning on buying anything I will always have a look in the window because their more unusual pieces are displayed here and sometimes I'll see a pair of earrings or bracelet that I 'just have to have'! Everything is clearly labelled so the price can be seen from outside, this is great because I can see at a glance whether I can afford is as there is nothing worse than having to go in to ask the cost only to find that you can't afford it after all! Once inside the shop has a calm, quiet feel like any good jewellers shop. The glass display cabinets are sparkling clean and show the jewellery and gifts inside off beautifully. There always seems to be a lot of necklaces and link bracelets for sale inside the shop, as well as gold charms and pendants. I think the prices are extremely reasonable, obviously there are the more expensive pieces but you should be able to find something nice within your budget. Nightingales also sell a range of clocks and gifts including those gorgeous hologram pendants featuring a photograph you provide. I also like their crystal ornaments and have bought several as presents over the years - of course I also bought the Zippo from years ago which my friend still has and was beautifully engraved with her name. The staff in Nightingales are excellent, they never seem to rush you and are content to let you browse for as long as you need. I always get the impression that they want me to make the right purchase decision and not the most expensive option. This is great because sometimes in jewellers shop I get the feeling I am being nudged into the most expensive item, but not in here.

This is mainly second hand jewellery, but that's the beauty of this shop because there are items appearing in the window that you're not going to find in other jewellers shops. Of course it also means that you can only choose from whatever they happen to have in that week, but nine times out of ten I'll find something I like - although whether I can afford it or not is another matter. Uncle's obviously puts the most interesting items in the window and you can usually expect to see necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings in the window. All are hallmarked gold and prices are very reasonable in my opinion with hollow hoop earrings starting at around £15, with solid hoops costing around the £60 mark. Everything is displayed beautifully in the window and it always makes me want to go inside and have a look at what Uncle's has in the glass cabinets inside. To be honest it's always a bit of a disappointment inside as the really gorgeous stuff is usually in the window for everyone to see! Inside they'll have a few bangles, stud earrings, the plainer necklaces and things like that. All of it is cheaply priced because to be honest it's not the best quality and the designs are plainer than those you'll see in the window. Uncle's also offers a pawnbroking service, which is now he gets his gold in the first place. I've never used this service but have seen money changing hands when I've been inside browsing. It looks a simple enough process, I think you just have to take your gold in and fill a form in to get your money. You then have a few months to pay the loan back with interest added.

The stock is fairly traditional, though I did notice some really pretty dangly earrings with giant rhinestones set in fancy gold surrounds. They also sell some ornaments and little trinkets. The prices are fairly low, though the goods on offer aren't exactly priceless jewels. It would be a good place to pick up a special present for an aunt or Grandma.

As the materials are real and the range is so diverse the item could be personalised to suit the person's style, I think every penny spent is worth it. It's safe to say they cater to all celebrations and would make a great gift or even a personal treat. To me a lot of jewellers offer the same thing; good service and great products that are sometimes expensive. Cheshire Jewellers go the extra mile by offering a polite customer service, free packaging, fourteen day return, valuation and shipping within five to ten working days. It's clear from the way the staff talk about the items and care for them that they have an extensive history as a jewellers. I thought this was great and would like to consider shopping here for the next big occasion!
