I have to use S&S because my warranty requires me to use this company. The people who come to do the service are very friendly and seem to know what they're doing. I couldn't ask for someone nicer to do the service. My washer had 3 things wrong with it and the repairman replaced the motherboard to fix the main error message. That fixed one problem, but it left 2 other issues that needed to be addressed. The theory was for me to use the washer and see if replacing the motherboard would fix all three. If it didn't I was supposed to call S&S to have the remaining 2 problems fixed. I have been trying to contact the company by phone multiple times for the past 2 days. I keep being put on hold until the phone actually cuts itself off. I have tried using the online system they encourage you to use, but even that doesn't work. On 12/22/10 I called S & S Appliance Parts & Service to have someone service my 2005 Side-by-side Frigidaire/Electrolux refrigerator. I needed it serviced because the refrigerator had a problem of working for a week or two and then it would stop cooling. It had to be unplugged for 24 hours and then plugged back in. It would again work for a week or two and then it would have to be unplugged again. When the service man arrived n 12/27/10 I described the problem. He said he needed to order a part (defrost control) and would return. He returned on 01/06/11 and installed a new defrost controller. The total charge was $231.91. About a week or two later it quit working again. I called and said it still doing the same thing. The repairman returned. This time he checked the compressor and said that was the problem and it would cost over $500.oo to replace it and I would be better off buying a new refrigerator although mine was only 5 years old. I asked him if I could have a refund for all the other since the defrost control was not the problem to begin with. He said he would ask his manager. He called the next day and said sorry they could not refund anything because at least my refrigerator worked for a week. I find this way of conducting business as very unprofessional. They can not stand behind their work/repair. If you can not afford a "hunt & miss" repair then I suggest you find another repair service besides S & S Appliance. read more

I absolutely cannot recommend this company and I cannot stress this enough. There are many other companies out there who are far better. I did not choose this company, but rather, my warranty company assigned them to fix my refrigerator. The employees that have come out to the house have been nice enough, but my refrigerator has been broken for a month now. Appointments have been canceled and rescheduled without even contacting me. Parts have been "lost." When I called customer service, the first person I interacted with was a helpful woman, but the last gentleman who answered could not have been ruder. They have absolutely no remorse that I have been without a refrigerator for a month. In fact, when I asked them what they were going to do to compensate for all of my wasted time and money they said "everybody wants to be compensated." That probably tells you right there that this is their standard level of service if all customers are asking for compensation. When I told them that my normal repair guy would have done everything he could to have it fixed in a day and would have been apologetic if it even took two, the man on the phone said "well, they aren't as busy as we are." What a joke. Don't ever use these people. Spend your money somewhere where it will be appreciated. read more

I took my dishwasher to them in December for leaking. TUb was still under warranty for leaking. They replaced a motor, but not the tub. We since have paid a plumber to install it and it is still leaking. I called and was told I would have to pay a $98.00 service charge. This isn"t right since that's what I took it to them for. He stated it was checked for leakage, I doubt that. I will never use them again. read more
