Easter long weekend was coming and I do understand that they were completely booked but I would expect that somebody would say that they are sorry about what I am going through and that they don't have place Instead of responding without any emphaty that I should wait till I bleed.. I would expect that even though it is just statistics for them they would understand how a woman feels suspecting misscarriage. I have called almost 20 clinics that day only one was nice enough to give me time even though they were full but all the rest were so much nicer than the 2 ladies from Mama Mia I talked with.

It is located in the middle of Östermalm so it is very central although there are other clinic locations in the city. I have been going here since I moved to Stockholm and all the personnel I dealt with were warm, pleasant, and discreet. It takes forever to get in touch with anyone but, as it is quite a popular clinic, it is to be expected especially in Stockholm. If you are not in a particular hurry, though, their drop in time works best for you.

I am sure I have a bacterial infection because I have been sick for over ten days and typically know the difference from previous experiences. Typically I get a nose and throat culture in other countries and consequent anti biotic. I paid 180 dollars to see the doctor here. She was only able to conduct a throat culture- which was negative but she said she could not conduct the nose culture test because they do not have the resources. I know in the past I've had bacterial Infections that were not caught until the doctors did the nose culture. In USA, Germany and even Kenya, I have never had a doctor tell me they do not have the capacity to conduct a nose culture. Here they looked surprised when I suggested it. I'd recommend saving your money and finding a PRIVATE full service doctor. For 180 dollars all she could say was rest a few days. That apparently is the extent of what they can do at a Husläkarjour in Sweden. Now I will need to find a private doctor with proper access to lab and pay another 180 dollars. I have received better care in Kenya, USA and Germany hands down.

So, I call and the nurse on the phone tells me that because I have difficulty breathing, she won't give me an appointment. WTF?! The situation wasn't dire. Obviously, I am talking and well enough to call. I was just having issues because of allergies due to people in the city smoking too damn much. Simple. I just needed a prescription for an inhaler, not a visit to the ER, which undoubtedly would cost more. What got me was that the nurse was a condescending b!tch about it. I tried to explain my situation numerous times and she kept talking over me and interrupting me, saying, "You just said you had difficulty breathing, so that means you need to go to the ER." Pretty damn sure I know when I need emergency services or not. How about you f**king listen to the person talking, and fully understand them and the situation, instead of just barking out your misguided advice?! So irritating and frustrating to deal with this when you have been to nurse after nurse after nurse and clinic after clinic. So, here I am, back at square one. Thanks for nothing!
