Both items were shaved long and thin and were dressed with some olive oil. The bottarga had a nice buttery taste that paired well with the crunchiness and freshness of the celery. We also went for the vongole spaghetti with bottarga of course. The dish was fantastic, the sauce was full of umami. Lastly we got the grilled orata with a side mixed salad, a good amount of food for a satisfying dinner.

A very nice place to stay on Sant'Antioco island…read more Let's start with the only drawback I saw: it is not very central in San'tAntioco "city" but nothing dramatic, in about 10 minutes walking you are in the central area. Appart from the location aspect, it is the perfect place: rooms are large and very comfortable: everything seems very recent, the bathroom is big and very well decorates, the beds are hudge and you have a small balcony outside. The garden is very pretty with a lemon tree with gigantic lemons. The hosts invited us to help ourselves on it which was very nice. In addition, Giancarlo & Antonella, the hosts are very very nice. They do not speak very good english but will make all they can so your stay is perfect. Finally, the breakfast is good with many different things: homemade jams, tea and/or coffee, fruit juices, bread and different kinds of cakes. I will only regret that there weren't any fruit (but from what I have seen everywhere in Sardinia, it does not seem to be a frequent thing to have fruits at breakfast). For the price: 50€ for 2 persons a night in off season, I highly recommend to stay at Gaulos if you go on the Island.

The owners (a whole family) are great people, they take care of everything, they are funny yet helping. The Signora bakes everyday all the cakes for breakfast and every single thing on the buffet table is deliciuos... Our room was super clean, with all the things we could need during our staying. I did like San Pietro Island, but I have to say that this hotel made the difference! Strongly recommended!!!

However, quality is excellent. The hours of the buffet are also quite narrow, only from 7:30pm until 9:30pm which is not enough for the size of the resort. Overall, great hotel which needs to develop its restaurant.

The room is comfortable with a great queen-size bed. The shower gives new meaning to the term "hotel shower." IYKYK. The breakfast is one of those huge European buffets with an amazing assortment of pastry, breads, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, savory cheeses and meats, yoghurt, and anything else you can imagine. With waiters bringing espresso. Europe is in the middle of a heat wave and the air conditioning is scrumptious. Queen Margherita herself would have been happy to have this hotel named for her. (I'm going to overlook dowager Queen Margherita's support for Mussolini in the 1920s.) Extra credit: pizza margherita was named for Regina Margherita in 1889.

It's in between the historic district and water. Fun restaurants to your left and right. If you choose to explore the historic area,, I suggest getting a cab to the top and walking down hill to the hotel. Some rooms have showers and baths and some only have showers. The showers are fantastic. Spa jets, great water pressure etc. Rooms are clean and modern. Excellent international breakfast bar. Great service at the front desk and ok bar and restaurant. Limited drink menu. But great wine.

This is actually the Hilton Curio Baia Chia now, which is associated with the Conrad across the…read morestreet. The property itself is lovely, you have mazing views of the lagoon and Med. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed. We did have to be moved after our first room kept flooding from the shower drain and we were moved to a suite. The staff are all very friendly and everyone is bilingual. Other issue is that these properties are all self-contained so you cannot just walk into town and instead need taxi/Uber transfers everywhere - the town of Chia is $30 and Cagliari is $150 each way. There are multiple restaurants between the properties and the food was very good, but I was hoping to find something that only had locals and menus that weren't in English.
