Anticucho and Papa a la huancaina

Great service and good food , the place is not big but the food it's omg . I would recommend this place Sabor Peruano 1 to everyone .

Calamari

One of my co-workers recommended this place since I've been craving Peruvian cuisine for a long time. So, I decided to give it a try on a Friday evening around 6pm. It was a big disappointment. The waitress was sweet and lovely. However, they barely had anything. The waitress claimed that they had no chicken so unfortunately, I couldn't order the combos. So, we just decided to order whatever they had at the time. We ordered: Papa a la Huancaina: Honestly, this was the first I ever had this dish so I'm not sure what it usually tastes like. However, this one was bland. It felt like it needed some salt at least. Fried Calamari: it was a huge disappointment; it was oily and soggy. Aguadito: It's a coriander-based soup and it was SCRUMPTIOUS. This was the star of the night and made me happy. The chicken leg was so tender that it came off so easily. Definitely will go back for this soup. Salchipapas: Again, the fries were oily and soggy. The paella: It was bland and tasteless. It's missing a lot of spices and flavor. Overall, I would probably go back one day to give the chicken combo a try but if they don't have the chicken, I would leave for sure.

The chicken on combo #1 came not fully cook. While eating raw chicken is unhealthy and to even send that for customer to ready eat shows the unprofessional ethic handling food. The always attitude when Ingrid the Colombian girl pick up the phone, she gives you attitude and rudenesses. I will highly not recommend this place at all. We are customers for years. I would definitely suggest that for the business to grow get better people who check the quality of the food. To sum up, Ingrid should never pick up the phone. I would do anything to get my Money refunded.

Fried Jalea aka large fried seafood platter. This was insane and this is the small one. The whole table enjoyed this dish.

This may look like a little hole in the wall at first glance but don't be fooled. This place has great food, awesome service and the price is pretty affordable. Queens has many awesome Peruvian restaurants but I can say after many try's that one is one my top ten. Easy parking and they have outdoor seating

Close-up of the tripe in Cau Cau

I randomly ended up here on a weekend when they have a special brunch menu. Living in Queens for the past four weeks, I was really craving menudo, but since this area doesn't have many Mexicans (more Latin America), I realized that it wasn't possible to find menudo. Well, I got lucky here. I wanted to try Peruvian food and noticed on their menu that they serve cau cau. It's a Peruvian tripe soup with potatoes instead of the hominy that's in menudo. The cau cau was delicious. The tripe was tender with just a slight chew. And it had none of the gaminess of tripe. The potatoes were tender and really gave depth and body to the soup. It's definitely a lot lighter than menudo and there's not much acidity to cau cau, but I loved it anyway. They brought over two hot sauces. Both were delicious, but I preferred the spicier red one. I wasn't sure what to do with them since I had just ordered soup, so I started by trying to mix some of the red hot sauce into the soup. It didn't make much difference to the soup. So instead, I would pick up a spoonful of tripe and potato and then spoon on a dollop of the sauce on top. I'm sure people were looking at me like I was crazy ("this guy is putting hot sauce on each bite of soup..."), but it was worth it. It was pure deliciousness. I also got a cup of passionfruit juice. It's definitely just poured out of a container, but it was perfectly chilled and tasted great. The sweetness and acidity went really well with the hearty tripe soup. I'm so used to be offered orange juice, apple juice, or cranberry juice that just the taste of a different kind of juice made it extra special. If I lived in this area, I'd get this cau cau every weekend.

This spot is AMAZING. Authentic Peruvian food! I feel like I'm at my grandmas house. Home away from home. Thank you sabor peruano for this delicious soul food. Anytime I'm in town, this is on the top of our list to go!!!

Arroz chowfa to die for! As a Peruvian I'm picky but they are on great with their typical Peruvian dishes also try the lomo & ceviche - don't forget the spicy green sauce :)

1/4 chicken with fried rice $10

Good basic Peruvian food. The quarter chicken combo with fried rice ($10) is pretty good. The green sauce ties the whole thing together. I think the combo is supposed to come with salad, bec it says in the menu, but when I asked, the guy said it doesn't. Small restaurant, will go back to try some other stuff. The Lomo Saltado looked really good!

I happened to be searching nearby for Peruvian food and came across Bravazo. While i thought it was…read morea new spot, this pkace hs been opened for a while. We decided to order a 1/2 of rotisserie Peruvian chicken- chicken only ($10). Ceviche clasico ($20) and a side order of plantains ($6) and a bottle of my favorite Peruvian beer cusqueña ($6). We sat down about 6:30pm, the restaurant was relatively empty, seems like ther take out business was moving. We kept noticing people just coming from the outside to use the restroom. Food service was very quick, we noticed the rotisserie chicken breast was a bit dry, the leg and tight seem moist. The tostones were perfectly fried, the ceviches was fine nothing special. The typical green sauce was set in the table and it paired well with the chicken, tostones and ceviche. Overall the menu seems difficult to understand prices. Menu has family meals, and meals that are protein only such as the chicken i ordered. But in my opinion this is confusing, maybe family meals work when you have 4 or more people but for 2, its too much food. Psrking was difficult, when the bill came, the tip is automatically added onto the bill, while i dont have a problem tipping, they should tell you that from the beginning and not just add it to the bill automatically. When the server gave me the bill, they had also made a mistake to charge me for tap water. I went to the counter and i asked why there was a$2 charge for water and they told me it was a mistakebut neither the server or the person ringing the bill caught it, until i told them. I definitely had better Peruvian food but as a last minute decision we ate here because we were visiting my family nearby. I normally goto to Long Island, Ocenaside to eat at Ananau, now this joint the service, ambiance and the food is definitely 5 star. Bravazo did not feel like s restaurant ambiance, felt like a take spot. Dont get me wrong, the server was very nice but i wouldn't come back. While my wife was washing her hands in the restroom, some guy off the street who was not a customer came in loud, and started to bang on the door of the restroom. Nobody in management or even the servers said anything to him, weird situation and what was more disturbing was that he was hanging out at the pizza place next door. During our dinner, i notice people from the pizza place where coming in to use the restrooms in the restaurant.-totally weird.

We tried to reach out our server but she never came to check up on us never again. They weren't even busy, they were just hanging around the place but none of them came to ask if we were okay, even tho we were already done eating. We waited for awhile to ask for the check and again, never came to us, none of the 7 workers. We had to go and pay in the front. Definitely not worth your money. Never coming back to this place.
