Having never tried acupuncture before going here, I was a little apprehensive about the results I'd receive from the sessions and chinese herbs prescribed to me by Michael. From the first session with Michael until present, I've noticed a perceptible shift in my overall life balance (yin and yang) and also ability to deal with stress - thanks to Michael and the care he puts into each session and acupuncture patient. He's highly qualified and knows what he's doing. I grew up as a ballerina and needless to say it wasn't that easy on my body - I trained on concrete floors, pushed my muscles to the limit, and it ended up taking a huge toll on me once I hit my mid-twenties. For the past year and a half, I have only slept 3-5 hours a night, was often limping on my right leg, and was basically learning to just live with the pain. I went to so many doctors and spent thousands of dollars only to be told to try antidepressants. I was met with blank stares because my scans were all clean, and that it was a muscular issue. After the orthopedic route, I tried massage, sensory deprivation floating, and everything in between. I was basically taking Advil every few hours and still not sleeping. I had always had a negative opinion of chiropractors and I'm not sure why... but I was always against the idea, even when I was really being pushed to go by someone who saw the pain firsthand. I guess I finally got to a point where I would try anything, and I'm so glad I went to see Dr. Nancy. I'm actually really bummed I didn't do it much earlier. Nancy made my first visit so comfortable - I told her I didn't want my neck adjusted because it just freaked me out too much, and she gladly obliged (even though I bet she was secretly rolling her eyes at me.) Over the past 5-6 weeks I've been doing a combination of electro stem, acupuncture, and adjustments. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a quick fix - I had some painful days for sure, but each week I've gotten better and I'm now officially at zero pain. I can't even believe it. My visits are becoming less and less frequent and I'm even back to the treadmill and light workouts. They use kinesiology tape on almost every patient that comes through the door. It is of limited therapeutic value. There's no science to back it up. It is just used to over-inflate the charges. When it does not stick it absolutely cannot work. They claim that I should have called them that day so they could re-apply the tape. I was in severe pain so I took a pain pill and went to bed. They offered an excuse that because it had been billed toward my insurance and applied to my deductible, that they could not adjust their charges. Absolute B.S. After reading a couple of my online reviews, they called the local police and said that I was harassing them. I'm just a blue collar guy calling it like it is and exercising my first amendment rights. Find yourself a chiropractor with better business practices and one that is less interested in separating you from your wallet.

I went to see Dr. Winchester again for my follow up in which he still gave me no explanation for my pain and even accused me of faking it due to some other mental health issues I am facing. I called him out for claiming that i was embellishing my pain and he told me that working with him would not be a good fit and WALKED OUT ON OUR SESSION. She had just returned from a conference in Las Vegas and she got excited and told me she had just the thing. She did not touch my shoulder or arm. She took some kind of device and thumped it very hard on my collar bone. Then she showed me how to do it myself. It hurt a little, but much of the chiropractic work does hurt a little at first. I had to travel to Montana the next day. I did the thumping thing several times as instructed during the next couple of days and only served to make my collar bone sore along with my shoulder. I ended up going to see a masseuse in Montana. With just a quick look at my range of motion, she dug into my shoulder, found a knot and rubbed it out. Because of that experience, I didn't go back to see Dana. She found out from someone else later why I didn't come back and sent me an odd letter telling me how disappointed she was with me ... this virtually guaranteed I would never return.
