Every time we pass by Trinoma, it's a must to visit Saizen, since they update the store every month and goodies are available every now and then. Although it is a surplus store, their items are still efficient and safe to use and eat (for the snacks). They sell from cute, colorful notebooks to yummy chocolate wafers, kitchen and dining items, bathroom items, and even beauty items! They sell all kinds of things, and some even make great ideas for gifts! Don't worry, 88 Pesos may be expensive for a three-piece candy, they offer half prices or one price for two items as well, so you can be assured you're getting enough for what you pay for. Tip: it's inside True Value hardware shop, so don't back away when you don't see it as a standalone shop.

Whether it's items for the kitchen, for the office or for personal use, you will definitely find something to your liking at Saizen. Funny though, I always go here not intending to buy anything but I always end up with several items costing me about P500 or P600. No worries though, I always end up using what I buy anyway. The best finds so far, the vacuum / compression bags. When you're packing for a trip, they really save a ton of space in your luggage. I also found some wool gloves for those quick trips to winter countries. I don't mind buying the cheap kind since I don't use them that often and they actual work for protecting your hands from the cold. If you like being creative with your kid's baon or your own packed lunch for the office, Saizen is an amazing place to buy bento stuff. They have rice shapers, sandwich cutters and different types of lunch boxes that would drive any bento momma crazy.

Divided by color in their store, you wouldn't have a hard time looking for what you want (because you may basically want them all) and would be tempted to mix and match all day long. Their clothes are of quality, although some may complain it's too thin, but if you take good care of it, it would last long. They offer hip, fabulous and updated dresses, shirts, blouses, skirts, jumpsuits, shorts and what have you! Also, their shoes are also beautiful! I always choose Jellybean if I want new heels or clogs (they specialize in those kinds of shoes), and even flats. They also sell teen style bathing suits, accessories and sunglasses.

When they go on sale, you will be surprised at ho much you can buy without shelling out much. Back when the shopping meccas like Forever 21, Uniqlo, and H&M were still overseas, this is where i would go to shop for everyday clothes like blouses, skirts, and even shoes. They have small stores but the variety of styles is impressive. They have clothes that match different personalities and preferences. Even hipsters would find something nice in this store. What i like about this store is how they organize their clothes by color so mixing and matching becomes easier and fun.

The truth is, I also buy a lot of things at Claire's for myself. They have a lot of hip accessories like sunglasses, jewelry, hats and bags. The best gift I found there were locked diaries for tweens with cute owl designs and a bejeweled red one. They are also among the few stores that have gloves, we're not really a glove-wearing country so that's a bit hard to find before Claire's. And they also carry the Prism line of Katy Perry. They often go on sale offering buy 1, take 1 promos for items of the same price. If you ever chance upon one of those, I suggest going big on the shopping because you will always be able to find young girls and those young-at-heart to give the items to.

They sell colorful hair pieces as well as cute earrings, belly rings (for the rebellious kind) and even boy band merchandise. Just so you know, i didnt buy any of the Justin Bieber stuff when he was super famous. In grade 6, all my classmates wanted to have my denim wallet which had glitters and the world Angel stitched on the front part. When i told them it was from Claire's their faces looked a bit upset because they knew they wouldnt be able to buy it right away. When i saw Claire's open their first branch in BGC i remember feeling what i used to feel when i wouls enter their US stores before. Unfortunately i was already working so i decided to be happy for the preteens instead. I still pass by once in a while and delight in the cute stuff they have.

What matters is you know that not all stores carry the same items, and that their stock is refreshed fairly quickly. From the main entrance, the males clothing is on the left, the women's on the right, and the children's in the middle. Go back every two weeks or so, so you can spot new items or markdowns on current ones. Old inventory items go into transparent packs at even lower prices, so happy hunting! Also: all retail stores in SM North close at 10pm, but interestingly, Uniqlo stays open till 11 on weekends. If you're waiting for a movie or shopping late (or for an emergency!), Uniqlo might save the day.

I have this attitude of wearing whatever feels comfy, then just have the attitude to make it work. Whenever I do shop, I take hours because I'm very meticulous. If the cloth quality isn't good enough, I itch like crazy. Luckily, shops like Uniqlo are here in Metro Manila to provide good quality shirts and other clothes that you can wear for your everyday casual whatever. PROS: I love buying their blazers and cardigans because they can make my Minnie Mouse shirt and jeans look sharp and meeting-with-the-boss ready. They're not that stuffy too, with this soft stretchy fabric that I don't even have to iron; Their designs are modern and trendy, but can also cater to a huge market - from the titas to the toddlers. Family friendly; I love how attentive and friendly the staff are; Their location is bright and huge. It makes the hours I spend inside, while walking slowly and reading all the labels, easy and calming. CONS: Polo shirts can cost up too P990.00, so Uniqlo's wares are not cheap at all. They make it up for quality though, and they hold sales occasionally. TL;DR: Uniqlo is not exactly cheap, but you definitely get value for your money for quality products and cute designs.
