While occasional absences are normal and unavoidable, repeated absences can make it harder for preschoolers to develop the stable, trusting connection that is such an important part of early childhood education. That said, the overall impact depends on how the preschool handles absences. If the same substitute teacher regularly fills in and maintains familiar routines, the disruption may be less significant than if different substitutes are constantly rotating through the classroom.

He didn't know how to write his name before- little lights got him there. He didn't know his letters- little lights taught him. Same with numbers. The amount of growth we saw in that short time was amazing- academically and emotionally. The teachers and staff are amazing. One issue I had in the past with other daycares is that half the time, I work from home, and some providers took advantage of that by asking me to pick up my child early or closing on random days that weren't holidays. I was involved in a variety of extracurriculars, including ASB, FFA, Theatre, Cross Country, Basketball, Soccer, and Track. I also had the opportunity to serve on international mission trips over the summer in the Dominican Republic and during spring break in Greece. The small classroom sizes enabled me to better connect with my teachers and peers, and get specialized one on one time. The curriculum takes special care to integrate biblical teachings, enriching my faith through interdisciplinary classes, such as biology and math. The teachers and administration at this school are as equally invested in my education as I am and have inspired me to become a teacher myself. The goal of our program is so families do not have to take their child back and forth to different schools throughout the day. This is why we work with the office of education to provide high-quality care for all children. TTT works with the Office of Education programs (Family childcare home and Early Head Start) to make our family childcare home a high-quality program in an education and environment setting. When working with the Office of Education our program teachers set up many learning activities during the day for each child’s individual needs on the lesson plan. The teachers also do assessments, such as the Desired Result Developmental Profile (DRDP), on each child to know where the child places developmentally. The DRDP also ensures we are teaching the skills needed for the children in care. Our program goes through many different assessments and screeners to make sure our environment is appropriate for all children in our care.
