Christ Gospel Church in Laporte gave me an experience I will never forget. During worship the men…read morestood on one side, the women stood on the other, and everyone at the altar started headbanging in perfect sync like it was a Christian rock concert nobody warned me about. I posted the video because honestly it looked like the opening act for a Sunday morning battle of the bands. Instead of anyone reaching out to explain why the altar suddenly turned into a synchronized hair show, I got silence from the pastor and his wife. I even said they were welcome to message me so we could talk like normal adults, but that did not happen. What did happen was the church crowd showing up in my messages like angry backup dancers. When I blocked them they came back with new accounts and fake names. One person even told me I would be better off dead, which is wild behavior for people who were just headbanging for Jesus a few days earlier. If you want a calm worship service this is not it. If you want a front row seat to the most coordinated altar workout in northern Indiana, then maybe. I just wish the leadership would focus less on synchronized neck exercises and more on kindness, honesty, and basic communication.
