They run tarot readings and scrying in the back and in the front, there is a well organised bookshop totally dedicated to books and CD's for meditation and healing. The range of new age music is really good here. Positive affirmations, raising children, empowering yourself, finding your soulmate. Anything that you can think of that deals with the new age philosophy about life can be found on these shelves. There is not much else stocked, you won't find any incense or jewellery it's all mainly books. Which is very apt I think, because if you go to most big bookstores the new age section is a couple of shelves. So this shop might have the book you are looking for if you can't find it anywhere else.

It was a nice day, market was happening and the weather was phenomenal for what was supposed to be summer's end. I don't generally have a problem with not being greeted upon entering shops bc that is, in my mind, a highly subjective praxis that I don't want to be included in- but in conjunction with being stared down for nearly my who l e shopping experience, it's just not acceptable. I know there aren't many like me in that area but there's never an excuse for profiling. The stuff here is cool and it sounds like the staff really knows their stuff- except for when it comes to not unnecessarily profiling their guests. There are plenty of other places like this in Sydney, fortunately enough, so I guess I'll just go elsewhere the next time I'm in the market for such a thing.

And a crystal card reading, if that's your thing. Collier's has been here a long time, I remember marvelling at the fossils and minerals in glass cases when I was a teenager, and being a little creeped out by the angel and fairy posters. It's a quirky mix between new age crystal shop and serious mineral collector's haven. You can pick up a buddha or a piece of Seraphinite from Siberia, which looks like a frozen forest viewed from a satellite, orbiting above. An old friend of mine had an amazing collection of crystals and minerals, and taught me to see their beauty. I'm not convinced on the energy healing stuff, but these are beautiful objects in and of themselves, some look like mold, some like tiny space colonies, visible from aeons away. Some minerals look fluffy, like they've grown on the base rocks like some ancient plant life, frozen in time. The staff are very friendly and helpful and never mind me looking at the enormous rings. There is an appeal like a big hunk of rock.

Most dodgiest place ever! I took a 18ct gold Fraternity ring which has been in the family for…read moregenerations in for a resize and they cut the ring down by 1/3. When I got it back the original markings weren't on it. When I questioned them about it, they told me I was crazy and out of my mind. They abused me and refused to acknowledge that my ring was totally different even when I produced legal documents confirming the rings appraisal and photos before I took it to them. I must say, this is the worst jewellers I have ever been to. And to make matters worse, the owner phoned me to abuse me some more! I have seeked legal action.
