I write this with tears in my eyes as our Primrose journey is coming to an end with our youngest attending elementary in the fall. When my older daughter was two I knew she needed to transition from a private nanny to a school environment. I did my research; I checked out every "outstanding" preschool in the Katy area! I wanted a school that REALLY CARED about my daughter, met my ridiculously high cleanliest/hygienic standards, provided healthy foods (I have a degree in Dietetics), and provided outstanding academic curriculum. Most importantly, I wanted a school that would be an extension of "home" for her. Primrose was the soft place we landed and it was the best decision for our family. My oldest daughter started in Preschool A and attended through the Explorers program (3rd grade). My youngest started at 8 weeks old in the infant room and just completed her Kindergarten year at the Kelliwood location. I am in awe of how much my daughters grew in their time there. Primrose is certainly a leader in early education with their curriculum extending far beyond ABC's and numbers. The children learn essential life skills, critical thinking, social skills, good manners, how to be good citizens of the world, ways to be healthy, and get to experience frequent hands-on-learning field trips (Pre-K and older), etc. Both of my girls are/were more than prepared for elementary school. My oldest transitioned into the GT program in elementary and my youngest is leaving Primrose Kindergarten on a 1st grade level for math and reading. And while academics are important, it's really the staff that has made our time there such a sweet experience. The teachers and administration truly care about each student. They are vibrant and fun, they love on the kids, they come up with creative and fun learning activities and are always throwing a party for something! It is truly a family atmosphere. When COVID-19 began and students started online learning, Ms. Klein (Kinder teacher) and the staff created a seamless transition. I was impressed by their creativity in finding different and fun ways to engage with the kids as if they were in the classroom! Kindergarten: Ms. Klein and Ms. Fari THANK YOU for teaching and loving on BOTH of my girls. You will always hold a special place in their hearts. Admin: Ms. Ashley, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Jenny, Ms. E. THANK YOU for making us laugh, for throwing the best parties, and loving on my girls. To all the teachers and admin that have taught the girls over the past 9 years (including the teachers and admin that are at other Primrose locations now).... too many to list!! THANK YOU!!!! We love you and after COVID is over, we are coming back for BIG hugs.

FTM/nervous wreck here:…read more I remember our first visit like it was yesterday. First I called to schedule an appointment and the director was so incredibly warm and informative. When we went to visit she greeting us with smile as the Assistant Director took us around. Ms. Navalon, Ms Claudia, Ms. Safia, Ms Alice, and Ms Carolyn were so accommodating and assured me that my LO was going to be well taken care of. By the end of the walk through, we went over the plans and they encouraged us to visit other centers and let them know. They didn't force us to make a decision and I didn't feel hustled. My LO stayed for 9 months until we moved and I wish with all my heart that I could take the entire staff with me. She loved it and knew when it was a "daycare day". They sent frequent pictures with commentary on her mood, the intake log included how much of each bottle she took, when she was sick and couldn't attend (gut bug, 1st colds etc) they sent messages to make sure she was ok, and they sent home her art projects which was frequent. They have a surplus of age appropriate activities and I could tell my LO was learning. Best of all - for me at least- the staff had no less than 5 years experience. I'd say the average was 9 years with the company and location. They are affordable, the curriculum is amazing and they care for the child as well as the family. I miss their expertise dearly. New moms... this place is golden.

As a single mother, I work hard to provide quality care because I expect my child to be safe, cared for, and treated properly. One of the biggest concerns I had was that my child was not fed according to the feeding schedule that I personally provided and that the daycare agreed to follow. During enrollment, they made a huge deal about labeling every bottle and following my child's feeding schedule. However, after dropping my child off at 7:15 a.m., he was not fed until approximately 11:36 a.m.--more than 4 hours later. My child currently has difficulty eating solid foods and relies on formula, which I fully explained before enrolling him. Jay acknowledged this and agreed that the daycare would work with my child's feeding needs. When I went to ask why my child had not been fed according to the agreed-upon schedule, instead of addressing my concern, the director, Jenna, immediately asked me, "Why are you here if you feel like your kid is unsafe here?" And said AFTER 20 years of directing she never seen this problem before, supposedly she's a mother self if she cared so much for kids she would be talking back with her remarks and her attitude she will be handling her issues, WHICH I found that response extremely unprofessional. Rather than answering my question or helping me understand what happened, she was quick with remarks, talked over me, and became defensive can't get two sentences out to My concern was simply to understand why my child had gone over four hours without being fed, but I still never received a clear answer. To make matters worse, after I raised this concern, Jenna informed me that my child would no longer be allowed to attend the daycare. From my perspective, it felt like my child was being removed because I questioned their care and expected accountability, rather than because my concerns were addressed. My child also became very sick while attending this daycare, which only added to my concerns about the cleanliness of the facility. From what I personally observed, the school did not appear to be cleaned or sanitized the way I expected for a childcare center. After my experience, I went back and read other reviews, and I realized that many parents had raised similar concerns. Looking back, I wish I had read them before enrolling my child. To the owner, Jay: before responding to this review, please focus on addressing parents' concerns instead of protecting the daycare's reputation. Parents trust you with the most important people in their lives--their children. When concerns are raised, they deserve honest answers and accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this daycare to any parent. ( I WILL MAKE SURE THIS PLACE GET A 2.1 RATING ON ALL PLATFORMS AND KATY RATING AS WELL ) DONT LET THAT ( SO CALL OWNER JAY ) CONVINCE YOU TO LET YOUR CHILD ATTEND THIS DAYCARE !!
