She had the audacity to say I couldn't see them because she "needed to change some lightbulbs in her salon" and I would definitely see it in the sun. You guys have no idea this was over a 5 minute argument about her lighting. That is not the customers problem and she should know better! Why on earth would anyone pay over 100 euros to have their hair only look good in the sun?!? After a week of disappointment and to her offer before I left, I came back asking for a fix. I told her I wanted the highlights to be more noticeable and a lighter shade of brown than what she originally tried and failed to create. That was the biggest mistake because she ended up bleaching my hair to the core, giving me the most hideous and uneven highlights know to man. I'm talking orange and yellow streaks and the highlights so far from my roots it already looked like they've grown out and I already needed a touch up. Absolutely and utterly ridiculous. To add insult to injury she charges me an additional 30 euros when she said she wouldn't charge extra for her dumb mistake. Seriously the worst experience.

Everyone spoke English. My manicure came out well but wasn't what I was expecting. They cut my cuticles dry which was a bit painful. But actually they got more cuticle removed than my last place in the states so I was kind of okay with it. There was no real massage with the manicure and in the end it cost 45€ for the shellac which was definitely more than I expected to pay (I also added in an extra 5€ for tip, so 50€ in total). I agree with the other reviewer that I don't think Munich has a large nail or general cosmetic scene, although this was my first manicure here. I would give this place 4 stars but I feel like the price was just too high for what it was.

I needed a facial....! Badly…read more Actually, I just needed some pampering in general...and a European facial seemed to fit the bill. I'd heard glamourous stories about the Europeans, and of course...they traditionally have lovely skin. After months with no Vitamin D, my skin was looking dry, sallow, gray and needed a bit of non-chemical, non-invasive lift. It is indeed time for a facial. I found Beauty Grevenitz online through a search (as of course I am the first to review it, so hopefully others will go after me knowing more information!), and sent an email through the contact form. Margaret replied to me quickly and set me up with a convenient appointment on a Friday morning. For 89 euro (plus tip) I received a microdermabrasion (removes 18 layers of dead and icky skin while reenergizing the cells!), mask, eyebrow cleanup (underneath only), extractions, massage and moisturizing treatment. And, until you've had extractions here...I don't think you've really had extractions. Let's just say, no pore is safe. They'll cooperate or else. Exactly how I like it, I don't want a facial to just be relaxing (I can sleep on a bus, thankyouverymuch), I need it to be productive and fulfilling. I want my skin to gleam and glow, and blackheads and clogged pores don't lend to that feeling very well. This lady means business. Take an aspirin before perhaps. Or a glass of wine. My one slight complaint is that the crystals used in the microderm (normal) remained present through the whole treatment, so the massage, mask, etc all felt faintly of sandpaper, which isn't entirely relaxing or soothing. It's not the end of the world by any means, but I had the crystals in my mouth...they were kind of everywhere, and I've not had that happen previously. Not enough to even be a bother, but worth mentioning. They also offer: Nail services & other body treatments Location can be tricky: It is near the University (Universitat Ubahn), and you'll go through an alley of sorts, then turn a quick right and enter at the rear of the building address. Margaret is a real pro and has been doing this for many years, and it shows. After checking the reviews on yelp, I made a decision to visit Beauty, Body and Nails, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made during this trip. The online booking system is super easy to use. For anyone who only speaks English like me, just use Google translator and then you are good to go. Margarete is very responsive. Both my appointments got confirmed within a few hours. I find the place easy to find (thanks to Google map) and the rooms are very clean and comfy. Both times, I did not have to wait at all. But I still got to try the massage chair, which is very comfortable : ) Margarete is wonderful to talk to and an expert in what she does. The facial was awesome. She deep cleaned my face with a facial scrub. After steaming, she took time to do the extractions. Oooh, what can I say? I have had extractions elsewhere so gentle that I almost fell asleep. And of course, my pores were still clogged. But with Margarete, I felt that she cleared every clogged pore on my face and every bit of my skin looked clean and refreshed. She also cleaned up my eyebrows (I like it!) and applied a very soothing mask. The rest of the facial was very relaxing --- a nice face and shoulder massage and a moisturizing treatment. All the products smelt very good during the facial. Margarete did not try to sell me anything, which I appreciate very much. She even gave me a sample of hydrating moisturizer to try cause my skin was dry. The experience was great and the result is simply awesome. My skin has never felt smoother and I cannot be happier about it. If I were to stay in Munich for a longer time, I would definitely go again. BTW, Margarete speaks English very well.

It was also a nice surprise to find my current fave hair products used at this salon - Kevin Murphy. It gave my hair volume/body!
