Terrible customer service and poor quality work. will never go here again.

Well, I came back to update a review I had written earlier, but I don't see it here. I remember doing it because at the time it was very complimentary. Since I wrote the review I have had an ongoing problem with moisture inside my windshield. Sometimes it is pretty bad, and others it's worse. I can't predict when it will happen, but it usually comes after rainfall. And even then, it's not always that same day or the next. I've looked and looked but I can't find any source of the leak. I just know my issues began after my windshield was replaced by a technician from this location. read more

Pebble flew into my windshield and cracked it. Called this location and got Pauline. She was nice, informative, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. SC insurance allows one free windshield a year, so she helped me use the right method to get a replacement free of charge and was able to put me on the appointment books for next day repair. I will update my review after being serviced, but I have no bad things to say as of right now. read more

The person answering the phone was as friendly as a rattlesnake. No customer service skills. Allstate insurance says they are there recommended glass service. Got better pricing else where with much better customer service. Definitely a company with to much business. Highly recommend checking around and you will be much happier. read more

My windshield was cracked an needed to be replaced. My insurance company sent me to safelite.. The plus side is the man that installed it was great. He even showed up the day he got the windshield an My truck was not at the house because the office staff didn't tell me they was coming. It took 3 or 4 weeks to get my windshield changed then making appointments an canceling the day of because they didn't have the windshield but when they made the appointment they said I have it in my hand right now. Look at other reviews as you research this company...rear glass broken on 2016 GMC Acadia...Price was higher than other companies but due to commercial and ads, I believed it was a reputable company. Tech arrived and explained the process... He installed glass BUT rear glass did not property fit...Rear glass was defective. Glass damaged on the bottom and did not fit property.. GAPS.. Rubber molding sticking out after work. Told, will be back this week since the glass was defective and it would be replaced under warranty. Why bring and install a damaged piece of equipment or item.. Will update when they come back. TOLD THEY DO NOT USE ORIGINAL OME GLASS. Have pictures if needed.. read more

Both our cars had a crack in the windshield which our insurance helped us find Safelite. After getting ours vehicles back, we notice some issues due to installation, but they were kind enough to take of it and fix it. On my car, I had to go back a 3rd time because the windshield wipers were not connected back. It was annoying having to go back but again their customer service was great and fix it right away when I came into the store. Definitely recommend! read more

I did have a great deal of difficulty getting to the shop. The map at safelite.com/stores/pooler is WRONG !!! It shows the shop west of Pooler Parkway (which is west of I-95). I hunted and hunted, to no avail. I even called the 904 number for help. The nice lady, at some remote call center, also said the shop was west of I-95. Finally, I entered the address into my GPS and found the shop ... about 2 mi EAST of I-95. So, I arrived about 45 minutes late for my appointment. Once, I arrived all was good. I was greeted timely and my vehicle was taken into the service bay promptly. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. The service was completed in about half the time initially promised and the charge was about $35 less than the original quote. I am very, very happy with the quality of the repair. Safeflite totally miss a 4 hr appointment window - and had no phone number to call & check on status. Their Web / Txt message system is a joke, with canned answers that did not address the questions, or help to get a solution. Spend less on all your TV commercial & try to provide some level of customer service. read more

They were trying to push this windshield on me that was the wrong color ( a street light green). Which did not match my cars dark black color. Then proceeded to tell me that the make of a 2014 Ford Explorer, the windshields are not being produced anymore, which doesn't make sense. They did not offer to me to order or look for another windshield, just trying to push that green color on me, because they had no use for it. Sorry i will never use safelite ever again. They missed a 8:00 - 12:00 am appointment on Monday. Contacted me on the day of the appointment and said they would be out. Texted around 3:00 pm and said they were running late. Texted around 5:00 pm and said they were not coming. I am not sure why they suck but if you can't make the first appointment of the week...it is rework, slack employees or general incompetents. Either way, decided it was best to get a refund and try another company. read more

Made an appointment a week and half out. Showed up on time. Was told it would take 3 hours. Carved that part out of my day. Uber to go get something eat. 12 o'clock check my car through the app it hasn't moved. Called them hey are you going to be done by 2:00. No, it's going to take longer. 1. It doesn't take 3 hours to replace a wind shield. 2. How do you expect to finish on time if you don't start on time. Very disappointed. read more

My appointment time was 1pm on a Friday afternoon. Maybe a few minutes late in getting started as it was right after lunch. Still, no complaints. They got my car in the shop, replaced the windshield, and got me out of there in under 2 hrs which is not bad at all in this day and age. I hope to never need their services again, but if/when I ever have to replace my windshield again, I'll be sure to book my appointment with the crew over in Pooler. Great job, guys. read more

My windshield was cracked and I made contact with safe lite for repair and they able to get me in that same day!! It was scheduled for 4:30 in the afternoon, but that was Great because, this is my wife's vehicle and I had it for the day for oil service and I taking care of the service when I called!! I complete the service and when right over!! Safe lite took me upon arrival and approximately 50 minutes later, I was done with the repaired windshield!! By the way, it was a great job!!! I took my vehicle to them for some work . They contacted me told me my vehicle was ready . They didn't do the job right . Brought my vehicle back the next day. After having the vehicle all day. Told me they couldn't fix. the problem with the vehicle to take it somewhere else . This company is this terrible. Do not take your vehicle there. read more

Okay, Part 2 .... Tristan was AMAZING. Polite, Kind and understanding. He did an all around awesome job. He called twice before he came to the appointment to assure me that he was coming and what was going on due to him running late(which was fine because the weather was bad at the time). So if you just so happen to go with this company in the pooler area make sure you request for Tristan. You wont be disappointed. This rating will go towards the technician not the company it self. I had a crack windshield SAFLITE came out and replaced the window. A month or so later I saw that water was coming in the window and it was whistling. I called SAFELITE instead of fixing the seal they replaced the window. Now jump a few months later, I am driving down the interstate and the molding and the seal on the driver's side of windshield come lose and are beating the hell out of the car. I have attempted to calling and email can not get anyone to call me back. I took the car to Nissan they said that safelite broke the clips to the molding that holds the seal and windshield in. The cost $800. Saflite needs to fix this. read more

Not satisfied with the repair or service. First scheduled appointment, no one showed or called. Text the number that confirmed my appointment, automated service because it was after hours. Second appointment- Jonathan was very nice and apologized for the previous day. It was raining so they could not repair my window. Same day and still raining they came back out in the rain and repaired my window. I asked the tech about repairing my window in the rain. "We can we just don't like too". I was told by the tech it would look like a smudge. It still looks cracked.. I called the office and was told I don't know why the tech said that. It's just to help it from cracking more. I would not recommend paying $165.00 for a small crack to still look like a crack! read more

I've had Safelite repair chips in the windshields of previously owned autos at my home when we lived in South Carolina. Unfortunately, this time it was a significant crack in the windshield, caused by a 'thrown' rock from the tire of an 18-wheeler, which required a new windshield. The first two scheduled visits to my local Satellite repair center (Pooler, GA) had to be rescheduled for a third visit due to scratches in the supplied replacement glass. Also, these two pieces of glass were not the OEM glass needed to support the electronic upgrade (camera) in my 2020 vehicle. Credit to the Safelite technicians for catching this before installation. The repair was finally completed at my home after a two week wait. Not my best experience, but, if needed (heaven forbid), I will probably go use Safelite in the future. read more

On 12/31/2022, I had a windshield replacement and calibration performed on my vehicle. I brought it back on 01/12/2023 because I felt that the calibration of the lane departure sensors was not done properly. The technician informed me that because I have aftermarket tires and rims, that they were not able to perform the calibration--even though they supposedly did it on 12/31/2022. I asked him essentially why no one said anything about this policy back in December during my first appointment and all anyone could do was shrug and say that they didn't know. And that still is my question. They did offer to pay for me to go to the dealer to have it recalibrated, and I appreciate that, but that's not good enough. Safelite should have asked about tires and rims at the time of scheduling my appointment, NOT AFTER TAKING MY MONEY AND WASTING MY TIME. The recalibration warranty is a joke. I would have taken it to the dealer from the beginning if I had known they couldn't do the job. Calling the 1-800 number is a waste of time too. They tried to patch me through to the store so the manager could talk to me, but the manager wouldn't pick up. I was on hold for at least 15 minutes. That's how much they care. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I originally booked a home repair for a very small chip in my windshield about the size of a pinky nail. I bought a new BMW and the day i drove it off the lot a rock popped up on the interstate. The technician pushed too hard during the repair and caused the crack to spread down the windshield of my car resulting in the entire windshield needing to be replaced. When I asked who would be responsible for pavement I was informed that in their fine print it says any further damage caused during repair is not covered and the customer is liable. My windshield was a $1,400 windshield. When I scheduled that repair I was sitting in the lobby when the technician walked into the office and not realizing the window was open he states that he cut the wires to all of my assisted technology but that he would try to splice them together and put it back together. I obviously heard this because the window was open and lost it. I understand mistakes happen but to try and cover it up is completely unacceptable. The General Manager was an absolute nightmare the entire time. He never apologized for any of the inconveniences and I still had to pay for my repairs on my vehicle. He also made a comment stating "if I wasn't such a millennial. I could drive without assisted technology by looking over my shoulder." He was one of the most difficult and disrespectful managers I have ever worked with. I also reached out to corporate and haven't heard anything back. I ended up having to take my car to BMW and get it fixed completely. I can not stress enough to stay away. There's a lot of shady stuff going on here and customers are at the expense. read more

These morons have cancelled four appointments to replace my car's windshield. Each time, they claim they have ordered but not received trim pieces necessary to repair my car. After each missed appointment, they tell me they've received the parts and reschedule. I was only wasting my time with these idiots because my insurer (USAA) pressed me to use them. I'm taking my car to a different shop next week that has the necessary materials and is half the price of Safelite. read more

Sadly, this review is mostly for the corporate office. I called the 877 Safelite office, discussed cost and exchanged my insurance information. In that phone call, I gave Meridan as my auto insurance with a $100 deductible and we setup my appointment. I received several emails reminding me of my appointment which is very nice. No emails discussed cost details. Five full days later and the day of my appointment, I received a reminder phone call from the installer. He told me that the cost was over $450. I explained that it was supposed to be $100. i had just woken. He told me that he would find out details and call me back. After an hour, I texted him about the insurance challenge as my appointement was in less than 2 hours. He called and told me that Hanover told them that I have no collision. This guy is on the road and installing glass so I asked him to have his office call me. Another hour later, the local Safelite office called and gave me the same information and that I needed to call my insurance. We have an hour ETA and had 5 days to work this out and now I'm supposed to call? I gave the local Safelite office my insurance reseller's name and number and told her that I was at the doctor's and wouldn't have time to call. And asked for their customer service number since waiting for 5 days is an unacceptable delay for this type of problem. As soon as I could, I called my insurance reseller and recieved the same information.... that I had Meridan Insurance with $100 deductible. Then I called Executive Services at 877-609-6714. All that ES would say is we're sorry. Not that we'll correct this to reduce future incidents for our customers. Nada! My review is: 877 Safelite office in Ohio - 1 star local Safelite office - 1 star Take some ownership and don't make the installers who are driving take care of these details while they are driving and working! Installer - 5 star review! Tried to communicate as best as he could and apologized for the problems even though he wasn't the one at fault. Incredible service - polite, organized, great quality and asked me to look at the inside of the car after the installation to inspect. read more

I had a horrible experience with this place. It's taken four separate appointments to fix one problem. There were errors in scheduling (not showing up), fixing the initial problem, causing new problems, and not refunding money when they should have. The final product of their work resulted in replacing my passenger side window which is visibly warped and doesn't even look like it belongs on my vehicle. The only good thing I can say is that 2 out of the 3 repair tech's that came out were actually pleasant people. Overall, Safelite in Pooler is a joke. read more

Had a guy named Clifton come by the house to fix a crack. Really efficient, helpful and friendly. Got the job done of repairing a crack in the windshield and also went above and beyond by vacuuming the carpets and cleaning all the windows. I wasn't expecting that! Had my windshield replaced. Technician had a very hard time removing the windshield and broke the trim on the drivers side. This was on the 12th of November. I was told the part was ordered and would be in Monday the 14th. I called on the 16th and was told it was on order and would be in on Thursday the 17th. It is now the 23rd and I have heard nothing. DO NOT HIRE THIS company!!! We have waited 2 separate days to get our windshield repaired.....The first time, the tech was supposed to be here between 12 and 5....tech texted me and said that was running into problems, but would DEFINITELY be here before dark.....never texted me back after several attempts to contact him....then called the next day only for them to tell me that it would not be until Today Monday Oct 14th between 8 and 12....just now got off the phone with a rude woman employee, only to let me know that they were not coming out to my home and they needed me to bring the car there....What kind of company does this?? Called this office which connected me to the 1-800 number Customer service saw my appointment for my glass replacement. My insurance company was providing no help. Service Rep stated they could only use OEM glass.$1,122.00 Service Rep stated their was no aftermarket glass . If I used my insurance company my cost would be $450.00. If they used only OEM glass the cost would be $860.00. Basically they would use aftermarket glass. They lied to me. I cant an will not use or recommend Safelite. They will lie to get business. I was scheduled to receive a windshield repair. I was allotted a 8:00 am-12:00 time frame on Wednesday. At 11:50 I was called to tell me that the Glass they were scheduled to install had a chip in it and would have to reschedule. The rescheduled for Tuesday between 8:00-10:00 (you would think I would be the first appointment) at 9:50 I called and was informed that the technician was helping with an issue in the office and would be there shortly. Aaron was a great technician, the office staff is terrible with scheduling. I intend to inform USAA to complain to them too. read more
