The installation went smoothly and the crew was knowledgeable, professional, well-organized, and great at communicating with us. We've had no issues with the panels in the 5+ years since then, and I admit it's fun to check the app to see how much energy they produce. More recently, we did have an issue with a family of squirrels that took up residence under the panels, causing some damage. When I reached out to the company to ask for advice about addressing the issue, they got us on the schedule for repairs and critter guard installation. Nest removal was handled by a different company, which left the remains of the nest all over the roof, deck, and lawn. The crew was unfazed by the mess and got to work. They were organized, efficient, responsive to my questions - and they certainly left everything in far better shape than they found it. I can't recommend them highly enough - and though I would now recommend having critter guards installed when the panels are installed, this approach was cost-effective and the work was done well.

The entire project was completed in a timely manner with no complications. The system works flawlessly and has helped us cut our home's energy consumption substantially. One of the great features that Rik included with our system is access to the online portal that tracks power output on a minute-by-minute basis. It is really cool to have this added information that shows how many Watts our system is producing as well as the total production over any time period we input. The second time he told me it'd cost me for them to send out a full crew to assess what I already have to give me an estimate for adding onto the existing system if I didn't send them an engineer's drawing of what's already there. The only "work" involved with getting specs for an estimate would be 10 minutes worth of measuring by one person, maybe a few minutes more of discussion. The job I was looking for is a small one, and I know it would cost more per unit than a larger one, but paying for ONE person to come out and gather specs for an estimate is totally unreasonable. If you want solar, find someone else who really appreciates the business and is willing to provide decent service.

We undertook a large remodel project that included a new roof, windows, siding, and gutters than…read moreran from July-November. This two-star rating does not reflect the quality of work performed by the individual sub-contracted companies, which final product was satisfactory after timely repairs. The low rating is due to a significant lack of communication with Ridge Top, and unfinished work. Sub-contracted crews showed up on-site unannounced or changed their work schedule without notice from Ridge Top. We were informed we did not need to be home on days only outdoor projects would be completed, and yet crews were ringing the doorbell asking for instructions about installation that was not provided to them by Ridge Top (window orientation, down spout locations, etc). This interfered with work-from-home meetings. During siding work, the doorbell circuit was closed by poor nail placement causing it to run continuously. This resulted in both the door bell and transformer to become overheated and melt the bell chime cover inside the house. This was replaced by an electrician in a timely manner. Significant work-site debris was left in the yard, and Ridge Top's project managers shared our alarm at the final walk through. Together, we picked up roofing brackets, pail-full of nails we have collected with our own magnet, trimmed pieces of fascia/soffit/siding, and whole shingles. When we signed with Ridge Top we specifically asked, and were assured, that the new window trim would match the existing size, eliminating the need for additional significant drywall and paint repair. After 2 separate measurement appointments before installation, the finished trim installed on 13 windows was significantly smaller. We raised this concern during installation and at multiple walkthroughs, but it was repeatedly ignored. At the final walkthrough, Ridge Top acknowledged the extensive repairs required to both drywall and painting, and offered to provide compensation if we could get a quote from our own painter. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the quote was shared with Ridge Top and multiple un-returned phone calls, they reversed this decision citing generic contract terms. This situation would not have been an issue had Ridge Top honored their initial assurance of minimal repairs or addressed the problem promptly. Instead, the lack of transparency and follow-through has resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and frustration.

After fighting for six months with my insurance company to pay for a new roof due to hail damage, I…read morethought the worst was over with. Little did I know..! They not only charged two grand over the price quoted, they filed a lien on the property even though they knew I was in the process of taking out a bank loan to pay for it. This was after they had already received eleven thousand dollars (almost all that was due). Ironically, they're filing of the lien might be the the thing that sinks the loan, as it is a HELOC. Greedy, greedy company. As for the quality of the work, I am pretty sure I didn't get my money's worth. There are items on the invoice that I am certain they didn't do because Jeff, the guy in charge told me they weren't going to do, but he told me he would be billing insurance for anyway. They got it all done within a single day with a bunch of guys who didn't speak English. Their sign will be going in the garbage today.
