One day I was woken up in my bedroom, in my underwear, by the maintenance man who had let himself in without my knowledge. He was in my doorway just inches from my bed frame. He said it was for a leak in the unit below me that had been reported 4 days earlier, yet I had received no call, text, or email beforehand. Email has always been their preferred way of communicating about maintenance issues, and I have more than a year's worth of records to prove it. So why was that ignored this time? I woke up confused from a nap. All lights off around 11 or 12 in the afternoon curtains closed. Could've been my pregnant wife half naked. What if she rolled off the bed? Then it'd be a huge problem right? Who just sneaks into an apartment with no communication for a small leak that was reported days before? And why didn't they reach back out to the neighbor below who reported it? The downstairs neighbor who reported the leak told me they never even heard back from management. He was just as confused. Maybe that's why he moved out. He did say he couldn't handle this place anymore. When I asked management about it, I was brushed off and even called a liar. The maintenance man himself told me repairs wouldn't be made until the following Monday--8 days after it was first reported. My neighbor across from me (E3) said something similar happened to him: his wife and toddler woke up to find a man in the hallway, and she had to call her husband in fear. Clearly this isn't an isolated incident. Ol' toothless needs to lose his job. He could've been shot and killed and anybody would be within their rights to react that way to a shadowy figure in their bedroom unannounced. Management tried to gaslight me on a phone call and say I said to come in. What in my sleep? What's wrong with these people. What makes it worse is that management acted like it wasn't a big deal. They claimed my phone number wasn't updated, but that excuse doesn't hold up since they've always relied on email anyway. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, they defended the employee and dismissed me entirely. That's not how residents should be treated, and it makes you wonder how often this happens without anyone speaking up. Again they never emailed nor texted me or my wife. We'd always emailed up to this point so it just screams malpractice. Safety is another issue here. Someone was murdered a few feet from the office not long ago, and it took ages for the blood to be cleaned off the basketball court. No cameras were added, no new lighting--nothing to make residents feel safer. Add to that a pool that constantly looks dirty or green, and it paints the picture of a community that isn't being cared for. Between the lack of communication, unannounced entries, safety concerns, and dismissive management, I can't recommend living here. Residents deserve respect, proper notice, and a safe place to call home. March 2025. The property manager, Megan actually said my experience I explained was "uncalled for." Make that make sense..
