Saigon Grace's Cafe is a great addition to Philadelphia food scene on South St. It is a Vietnamese fusion restaurant that offers bún riêu, traditional banh mi but also has birria tacos, churros pancakes, and a cheesesteak banh mi. The churro pancakes were robust, flavorful, and lightly sweetened. My son loved them. My daughter had the bỏ né (grilled beef skillet). The bún riêu was solid... it was large sized, flavorful, and even included short ribs. I will definitely get it again. My wife got grilled pork banh mi (birria tacos for the table) and she was satisfied with both dishes. The ambiance was nice with decent lighting and a good amount of seating for the brunch/lunch crowd. We loved the pictures of Vietnam on the walls. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We look forward to being a recurring patron for years to come. read more

Such a hidden gem! This Vietnamese lunch/brunch and coffee spot is seriously so good. They even have Mexican food on the menu, which makes it perfect when you're craving different flavors in one place. yum! unassuming neighborhood restaurant with good bites. my friend and i decided to check this spot out for lunch, and we really enjoyed it. i had the bulgogi vermicelli, and she had the bulgogi bowl. the bulgogi here is phenomenal -- flavorful and tender. i absolutely love vermicelli bowls, and the one here did not disappoint. i will say, it's pretty expensive for the amount of food given. i think we spent over $20 each for a simple lunch, and it wasn't a crazy amount of food either. their thai iced tea was good too, but the service was a little questionable. i ordered a second thai iced tea to-go for my friend, and they fully forgot about my order and we sat there for a while waiting patiently. they were nice though when i asked them about it, but it was a little disappointing to be forgotten about. i probably wouldn't come back unless someone really wanted to, there are other fantastic vietnamese options in philly. read more

This is a nice cute warm cafe with very cute decor. It is welcoming and has limited seating. The place does get packed and I saw lot of take outs as well. We were here on a weekday for lunch. Seat was available and so we sat immediately. Limited food menu was good and easy to select from. We placed our lunch order. It was cold outside and every time someone opened the door it would get very chilly inside. So may be they can have a cover so that it does not get very cold. In terms of food, it was delicious. Portions were perfect sized i.e. not too large or small. My main complaint is the long wait time. It took over 40 mins for our food to come out. Looked like the food was ready in the kitchen and just not got to us. I could see food being brought to multiple tables together. Which meant some of the food got cold sitting out there. Hence I deducted one star. Else food was good. I do recommend this cafe for coffee or lunch. read more

Cute cafe. We came here on a cold Monday afternoon and it was packed. There was a small line to place an order with people waiting for their takeout orders as well. We were able to place our order in about 5 mins but did not expect the wait of 35+ mins to get our food. The table next to ours got their coffee and avocado toast 30 mins after placing the order. I wish they would have told us they're running behind when we ordered. Now for the food, it was delicious!! We lapped it up within 5 mins. I saw a post about Saigon Grace on TikTok and decided to scoot over for a solo lunch. The staff/owner was so friendly and accommodating; it really made my visit wonderful. The inside was very peaceful and quiet, even when guests came in to eat or pick up take out orders. The vibe I got was that it's a nice local spot, perfect for the community. Now the food: I went with the Coconut Ube drink special and I was blown away! Did a quick brunch with my daughter! And happened to stop by this adorable cafe. Vietnamese owned, relatively new place, about 4-5months since it opened. Loved the viet-Mexican-Korean influenced menu. We asked for recommendations and tried the salted foam coffee, Thai Thea cream cheese, mango pancakes and the bulgogi banh mi Drinks were great! The wall drink menu has a few more options we missed, like the matcha coconut drink. So check that too! Mango pancakes used dried mangos, since it's in season now, fresh mangoes with a chantilly cream or mango syrup drizzle would have taken this dish to the next level. The banh mi was delish, loved the Kim chi in it as well. The taro fries were a little too oily for me. service was great. Got to chat with the owner and his wife for a bit. The Vietnamese coffee was very strong, creamy, and not too sweet. If I ever need a pick-me-up, I would get it again, but the thai tea took the cake for me. They have a wide variety of other options, from fruit teas, Dalgona coffee, and more. FOOD Various pastries and an all-day menu is available, although we only sat down to drink this time around. Tableside service is available, although when it's not too busy, guests can purchase up front and sit down themselves. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! AMBIANCE About 9 tables for two are available inside the store that can be moved together for larger parties. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available with the password at the front counter, and outlets are available throughout. When the weather is nice, the windows open for fresh air. It is largely a sit-down restaurant and not many guests study/work here despite the free Wi-Fi. PARKING Paid hourly street parking is available at a limited capacity. Stumbled upon this new Vietnamese restaurant on South Street on the way to the gym. They have new twists to the classic Viet coffee. The salt foam top being one of them. Great Vietnamese cafe! I got the Dalgona latte and it came with little pieces of cookie too. I tried my friends matcha latte and would defenitly recommend the ube foam. The bulgogi banh mi was super flavorful, I appreciate that the staff asked if I wanted cilantro because I always forget to take it off. They are family ran with some of the nicest staff around. Saigon Grace is an order-at-the-counter type of place where you order your food at the register and they take it to you. We typically get the food and all of the food is incredible. The bowls are great and every ingredient holds its own in the flavor department. The vermicelli, while we liked it, might be a bit plain to some folks, but we think it's balanced. Would highly recommend What you didn't come here for: - Water: They have free water with some fruit (like lemon) that's self serve. - Restrooms: They have a single occupancy restroom. - Accessibility: It's accessible with a wheelchair - Seating: They don't have a ton of seating. We stopped in at Saigon Grace Cafe for brunch on the weekend. They have a wonderful brunch menu combining American classics with great Vietnamese flair to it. We got a stack of their curro pancakes. Topped with powder sugar and small churros on top. With syrup drizzled on top it delivers a chefs kiss of taste buds. Awesome new Vietnamese cafe in Center City!! The Banh Mi was stellar -- perfectly crisped baguette exterior, flavorful pork, and just the right amount of heat in the jalapeños. Texture balance and heat/umami/acid balance in ingredients was perfect. The salt foam coffee is also special -- definitely try this. Servers were super attentive and kind. Was really looking forward to this place but was sorely disappointed mainly on the service. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon (9/12) around 2pm. The place was completely dead. It was warmer out and they had ceiling fans going and the door open. I sat down at a table directly beneath a ceiling fan and was immediately told by the woman that I couldn't sit there and that it was reserved for a larger party. Mind you every single table there moves easily. I told her my reasoning for sitting there (hot, under fan) but she was unrelenting. Made zero sense to me since every table is a two-seater and I could have even helped her move one if she needed. It was pretty asinine. The owner is gracious and friendly, and I enjoyed talking to him about how to best enjoy the viet coffee, and where the coffee beans themselves came from! I ordered an avocado toast and it was one of the best I've ever had, with a perfect fried egg, some sauteed greens and grape tomatoes, with high quality bread underneath.
