Nice place that reminds me of being back in VN. The food we ordered was very tasty but the coconut coffee will bring us back. Stick to dishes that come with banh mi or com, the soups are just ok. The service is quick and efficient, the only gripe I had was water was provided in styrofoam cups and you serve yourself. The decor was very reminiscent of being in Saigon but the table formation could have been better. Would come back for the coffee and sandwiches.

My family and I were in Chinatown buying egg tarts at Eck Bakery and noticed Saigon Pho in the same shopping complex. We did mistake them for Pho Saigon (flipped words). But, they're not the same. Inside, Saigon Pho is more of a cafe with a small offering of entree and drink items. The vibe here is relaxed and casual. We ordered pork belly, chicken, and pate banh mi plus ca phe sua da to go. Both were solid and delicious choices. They have other banh mi options I want to try next time. I will be back.

My go to coffee stop when I grab egg tarts from ECK Bakery in the same center. It's always packed but coffee service is quick. The ca phe sua da is on the stronger side and not overly sweet.

Best Banh Mi I've ever had! The manager and employees are really nice. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy really good Vietnamese food.

Good price, nice music background, feels like a French pastry shop. Comfortable environment to hang out with friends with vietnamese coffee and drinks. I ordered the green drink (mung bean and pandan latte). Sandwiches are ok.

First time coming to this cafe and the place was very inviting. It is quite a bit loud due to a lot of older Asians eating and drinking in here. The sandwich and caramel macchiato was very good though! Would recommend and come back next time

Finally had a chance to try this place and I'm pretty surprised. Unfortunately their menu was limited but the bun and the com tam were great! The place reminds me of a cafe! Wish the tables and seats were cleaner but aside from that, food was flavorful! The cafe sua da was strong!! Overall, good service, food was kinda pricey for chinatown, food was good, 4 stars firm

I like the lychee tea and peach tea here, they are delicious, everyone should try them. The coffee at Saigon Pho is also very good, this is the shop I visit most often to drink coffee every morning and yum yum lychee tea. Just mentioning it makes me crave it again.

The best sea salt coffee in Houston. Coffee is made fresh every day, enjoy your experience!

Place was bustling on a Sunday morning but orders went really fast. We got a banhmi and coffee combo which was almost 10$. Order came pretty fast, and banhmi was pretty good. A good amount of meat and a solid bread. But coffee was a little too bitter for my liking. I would not go back for coffee, but overall a decent place.

I actually ended up finding Duy through Google Maps while looking for new banh mi spots and was thoroughly pleased. The store is fairly small but offers both packaged prepared food items, as well as hot dishes to order. Their menu has a lot of options and everything is reasonably priced. They have several tables to sit and eat or you can get your order packaged to go. I actually stopped by around 9am with the intention of getting a sandwich but ended up going with the bun bo hue with tofu which was super flavorful and filling. If you want a little more kick, they have all of the fixings to spice up it up - hoisin sauce, chili oil, sriracha, soy sauce and pepper - yes, please! Don't worry though, I got my banh mi to go for later because it's a *necessity*! Great find. Definitely will be back!

The older lady behind the counter that puts the Banh Mis and drinks together is the sweetest and friendliest. She's always so incredibly welcoming but it's a hit or miss with the guys at the counter. The menu consists of a lot of processed mock meat and dry mushrooms so my favorite dishes to oder are the Banh Mi Bi and Mi Xao noodle dish with tofu as these do not have mock meat in them. They have a wide variety of ready-to-eat, packaged hot foods and desserts on display for customers to grab and go. They also make a delicious, refreshing artichoke drink that isn't overly sweet. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you're vegan or simply just in the mood for vegan. Note: There's a discount for cash payment.

So when we order we sat down thinking it was going to be served cooked and in a bowl, but when it was finished he brang a bunch of to-go boxes out and I said "wow I didn't know it was going to be for to-go" because we sat down at the table. mind you, me and my husband have been fasting because he has been having doctor appointments for IBS, and today we decided me want pho with a banh mi. So we head home and it did not take too long to go home, when we got home we open it to find the raw beef touch the noodles, on top of that it was not the traditional pho noodles, it was very thick noodles. I went back because my husband was not feeling well, and asked if they can change out the noodles and cook the meat at least. It was my first time trying this place and I told them that. because i usually go to other spots but they are closed today. They ended up "changing" it out and just putting the cook beef and noodle in the same container. I did not want to keep saying anything so I just left, when I got home we decided to try it because it was $54 all together. It was probably one of the most disappointing things I have tried. The sandwich was not bad, but I was really wanting pho after not eating for two days. Just over all disappointing and I don't see myself coming back. The customer service was great but over all too many health code violation for me. I will try and come back in a month or two to see if it is better and give them a second chance. I guess, thank you for changing it out, I wish you would have use a new container, I really hope we don't get sick because that is very serious. I will try again in a month or So to see if I should change the rating. For now I will stick to saigon pho. And other places as well. See you soon. Also, I would believe more of the negative reviews, and honestly I might have this place get checked out. We should not be paying that much to have a lot of health code violations. The health inspector is hopefully going to go soon.

The baguette here was solid -- crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, which is always the most important part of a banh mi. They definitely got the bread right. The fillings, however, could've been more bountiful. I found the meat-to-bread ratio a bit light for my liking. I ordered the grilled pork banh mi, mainly because I like that lemongrass flavor. It was decent, but I'm not sure it's their go-to sandwich. Flavor was okay for me -- enjoyable, just not something that immediately wowed me. My wife had the shredded chicken banh mi, which she seemed to enjoy more than I did mine. A couple of friends ordered the meatball banh mi, and in hindsight, that might've been the move. It seems like the popular choice here and probably what I should've tried. One thing that stood out: this is the first banh mi shop I've been to that offers multiple sandwich sizes, which I thought was interesting and kind of nice depending on how hungry you are. Overall, good bread, decent execution, and a convenient stop -- especially if you're in the area or grabbing brunch before heading somewhere nearby (like Space Center Houston). It may not beat LA banh mi, but it holds its own depending on what you order.

Nguyen Ngo was our first banh mi stop and also our last. I'm really very particular about my banh mi and have a firm POV on what a great dac biet (combo/special) should include (and accept that this is my own preference and that others may disagree!). My checklist below is typically where I find the most variance from shop-to-shop, as almost all places include the requisite jalapeños and cilantro: - Bread: soft with a thin, crispy crust and the crust should not be so hard that it scratches the top of your mouth - Condiments: pate should be fairly generous and flavorful and there shouldn't be so much mayo that it's dripping out of the bread - Pickled veggies: should be close to 50/50 between carrots and daikon - Cold cuts: has to have cha lua (steamed pork sausage) and gio thu (Vietnamese head cheese, preferably one that doesn't have much of the ear as it's too crunchy). I'm fine if it also includes thit nguoi, but don't require it. I don't like thit nuong is included though, as I find it makes the sandwich too heavy So how does Nguyen Ngo stack up against my list? - Bread: 10/10, probably the best bread I've had for banh mi. No idea if they bake it themselves or if they purchase it, but they're definitely doing it right - Condiments: 10/10, perfect balance, but the standout was definitely the pate. It was creamy with a strong flavor, but not overly liver-tasting. I thought about it all week and even considered flying a tub of it back home with me (I did not, but might do it next time) - Pickled veggies: 5/10, mostly carrots with a tiny bit of daikon. Also leaned a touch more sweet than I prefer and maybe not pickled for quite long enough? It was nice and crunchy, but the main drawback was not having enough daikon in the mix - Cold cuts: 8/10, they don't offer gio thu or the kind of cha lua that I like in my banh mi, but the thit, jambon, and saucisson were a good enough combo that it didn't throw me off too much We ordered their dac biet on the first day, which includes this shredded chicken that I really didn't care for. The consistency was almost like pork floss, but less tasty. On the last day, we chose the 4 ingredient banh mi and got it with pate, thit, jambon, and saucisson and that was much more to our liking. We bought 9 to take back home to share with our families (plus a couple extra for us), and they did an excellent job of packing the veggies separately!

I tried there grilled BBQ pork baguette and the meat was done really well! They will have a butter spread along the base of the baguette with a little bit of mayonnaise to help give the filling a premiere texture. I just wish that they would do the same to the ceiling and not just the base of the baguette. Fair warning, if you drop by later on in the day, close to their closing hours, the baguette may not be as moist, still somewhat crunchy though. I highly recommend going earlier on the day to catch the baguette when it's made fresh. Service is standard for this area of town. They'll prepare the baguette in less than 5 minutes and will call your name when ready. Another fair warning, this place was cash only. Come prepared. The place is very spacious with a couple of tables and seats. Most folks choose the to-go option. You'll have no problems with finding seating if you'd like to stay.
