This place is a gem. The beef banh mi? Total showstopper--crispy bread, juicy beef, and flavors that pop with every bite. The pho lineup is just as impressive; my crew tried a few different bowls and not a single drop went to waste. Pro tip: Don't feed the meters. Park a few blocks out, save your cash, and call it your warm-up walk before the feast. Highlights: * Beef banh mi that slaps * Pho with depth and variety * Prime old town spot * Free parking if you're savvy I'll be back--probably sooner than I should admit.

I popped into this Vietnamese spot for a quick lunch outing. It's a smaller spot hidden between the various rows of establishments in old town Alexandria. On the inside there's a few small wooden tables and chairs that populate the fairly plain but clean space, as well as a bar with several seats and a couple of TV's located towards the back of the restaurant. Their menu features the typical Vietnamese fair with appetizers like summer rolls, a variety of protein options for banh mi sandwiches, about 10 different pho options, and rice and protein dish combinations with prices ranging from $10-$20. I decided on the vermicelli dish with grilled pork and the crisp spring roll, and a Thai iced tea. The service was solid and the food came out in a timely manner. The Thai iced tea was really good a little less sweet than I'm accustomed too but I found that to be a positive. As for the vermicelli dish it was excellent: good presentation, the pickled carrots, cucumbers, and bean sprouts were fresh, the spring roll was crunch with a nice combination of ingredients inside, and I found the grilled pork to be flavorful and fairly tender. All in all zero complaints about this experience and I'd highly recommend giving them a try.

Cute place in old town Alexandria. Perfect for the cold weather. Portions are a little Small, but flavor is good. We didn't get our drinks so just told them to cancel mid way through our meal. Had to ask for things 2, 3 times before getting it. I think they were busy and not expecting the crowd? 7 out of 10 for me. Enjoy.

Really good Vietnamese restaurant option in Old Town Alexandria! If you're seeing a show at the Little Theater of Alexandria, this place is a convenient 6-minute walk away. Lots of pluses - first, the interior decor is pleasant and spacious but also informal and welcoming. Second, the pho here is very good. I tried the Bun Bo Hue which was hearty and infused with pork broth. The only minor blemish was the dessert which took nearly 15 minutes to prepare and was not very satisfying. The restaurant became more crowded on Saturday evening. Overall, I would definitely come here again but will skip the dessert options to save time!

What a gem at Old Town Alexandria! I had the impression that the food was catered towards the local population but no, the taste was authentic and similar to the quality one sees in Eden Center. Location - it is right in the middle of King's Street, parking on the street or nearby garage Decor - restaurant is nicely decorated with some Vietnamese oil paint, it feels spacious and simple Service - fast service, the manager goes around and checks in with guests to make sure they are doing ok Food - a big menu, food does not disappoint, spring rolls and pork wrap are delicious, the pho broth is fresh and the food portion is bigger than expected Will recommend!

The wife and I came in on a Saturday for lunch and really enjoyed our Bahn mi sandwiches. We both had the pork ones with spring rolls as an appetizer. The rolls were made in house and very tasty. The sandwiches were also very good and we left satisfied and happy. Try this place out for a quick and tasty lunch.

My first time trying Vietnamese food at Saigon Rolls on King Street was amazing. We started with the summer and spring rolls--both were super fresh, bursting with vibrant herbs and served with a delicious dipping sauce. For the main event, we went with the pho with well‑done beef, and also tried the pho with well‑done beef & tendon. The broth was incredibly rich and comforting, deeply flavorful and so satisfying. The beef was tender even though it was well-done, and the addition of tendon brought a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture that I loved--it made for a memorable introduction to pho! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The dining room is clean, with a cozy, wooden décor and a casual yet polished feel--exactly the kind of welcoming vibe you'd want for a relaxed meal. It's a comfortable spot whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or settling in for a hearty dinner. The service was friendly and knowledgeable--our server helped explain the menu and made us feel right at home. Highlights: Appetizers: Fresh, crisp rolls with balanced flavors Pho: Bold, flavorful broth; tender beef and decadent tendon Ambience: Cozy wooden interiors, clean environment, relaxed vibe Service: Friendly, helpful, and efficient Overall, Saigon Rolls hit it out of the park for my first pho experience. Authentic flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, and great service make it a fantastic pick for Vietnamese cuisine in Old Town Alexandria. Can't wait to go back!

Im a little sad because they are closed. I guess they are rebranding maybe but I didn't see a reopening date anywhere.

Place recently got "rebranded". They updated their menu with newer items and everything is now 20% or more higher. Pho is one size only and the meat is good but the portions are rather small for the hefty updated price. For these prices they need to be large, not all size are the same. Broth is really good though and not too sweet or heavy on star anise/cinnamon. Do ask for the chilli oil as it does not sit in a jar at your table. I will come back again, but for these prices I will only come back when in a pinch.

I'm so happy to have such a wonderful pho place close to where I live! I've ordered takeout from here many times and most recently dined in, about a month ago. Their pho is a generous portion and their broth is so hearty and delicious. They are also generous with their portion of meats in the pho (I usually order the beef pho with several types/cuts of beef, including slices of eye-of-round steak, well-done brisket, well-done flank, soft tendon, and bible tripe. The restaurant is clean, service is always friendly, and they have great non-pho options as well. During my most recent visit (in November), our table ordered the following: -beef pho -summer rolls -beef vermicelli noodle bowl. Everything was delicious! I especially loved those summer rolls and will certainly be back for more!

I LOVE this place! It has original Banh Mi with the pate although, I didn't order it; my friend said it was delicious. I was in the mood for Pho and it didn't disappoint! The broth was rich/deeply flavored, very beefy, cleaned/cleared but packed with flavors. I ordered the combination Pho, which didn't include meatball, a bit dispointing. The ice coffee was thick, rich, creamy, well balanced; it was so thick and creamy I thought they used an egg yolk rather than condensed milk. The summer rolls' beef was a bit old but the dipping sauce was amazing, spring rolls were a bit over fried but delicious no dipping sauce needed; however I will definitely go back!

EAT HERE!! Pho Broth yummy! Bahmi sandwich (chicken) was VERY tasty! Vietnamese coffee! Summer roll! Swai fish in clay pot = sauce amazing!

For us, we were talking to an artist in the Torpedo Art Studio in Old Town Alexandria, admiring the work he did. It got then we started talking about lunch as he was from Hong Kong. He mentioned we go across the street and try something he liked as it was something he would have back home. So, taking his advice we walked across the street and went to Mai Thai. It was a good suggestion. We went in and had a seat. Our waitress (a wonderful woman from Guam) gave some advice and we to some time to think. In the end we decided to start with Spring Rolls. This is the freshest sliced roll of crispy veggie combinations of lettuce, celery, mixed veggies wrapped in a thin wrap and served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. It was truly fresh and tasty. The dipping sauce was unique and made this worth a meal by itself. Then, being a cold day outside, soup seemed to be a good thing for lunch. We selected some traditional bowls of soup. First was TOM KA. It was a combination of vegetables and tofu in a coconut broth with mushrooms and fresh herbs. The soup had a tint of white. It was light and tasty. It was at a room temperature which is the way you have soup in Thailand. It was refreshing and light. Next we had TOM YUM. This is a combination made from slices of chicken in a lemongrass soup with fresh mushrooms, cilantro, scallions, galangal, kaffir-lime leaves, and Thai spices. The broth was light and traditional. If you wanted more spice our hostess brought it to you. Again, this was the way I had it when I was working in the rural areas of Thailand. Nothing fancy. Nothing simple. It was true home cooking that was served to you in a method truly Thai. The lunch was simple, but the way you would eat in Thailand. The taste and flavor was what to expect. The team is wonderful and friendly. The price was fine. It was good to find Mai Thai. And maybe being told about it from an artists does make it true to say that "Art is in the eye (and mouth) of the beholder."

My timing was good, because I arrived right before a work group of maybe 10 people or so came into place their orders. In addition to a substantive sandwich menu, which includes both hot and cold sandwiches, there's plenty of beverage (including wine) and snack selections. Wearing an oil paint-smudged apron (FYI: the reality is that you're still going to get paint on your clothes even wearing an apron), I aptly ordered the Torpedo Artist. The Torpedo Artist is a hot Panini-like sandwich. You can select your type of meat, cheese and toppings. By default it includes lettuce, sweet peppers and deli oil. My sandwich was well-crafted with plenty of turkey and Swiss cheese. However, I didn't especially like this sandwich. I wish I had asked them to hold the deli oil because it was overly pungent with oregano. All I could taste in my sandwich was oregano. But older and wiser now, I know in the future that if I have them hold the deli oil, I'll end up with a great and tasty sandwich.
