    Trout $42

To get the party started we were given the large table closest to the waterfront, so we were very lucky. The service was attentive and professional. Adhering to the ladies served first then the males was refreshing to see and ensued that great service would continue through the night. On the food side all dishes around the table were given high praise. Everything from perfectly cooked medium rare eye fillet to melt in your mouth trout. The crab cake entree was a belter too, with a great textural crunch outer and well seasoned crab with the additional of a finely shredded lettuce 'vinegarised' dressing. The service was impeccable right the way through the evening with explanations provided when ordering and a general friendly atmosphere. Just a couple of negatives that may assist you in making a booking. Firstly, we called 5-6 times at varying times to make a booking with no answer and no call back. Additionally, they did not respond to any emails sent. Secondly, Sails continues this weird fashion of not allowing BYO wine because they are 'high end'. Strangely though in the states we visited Michelin star restaurants that allowed us to bring in a cheeky bottle of Camus, Alpha etc. I understand the Australian counterparts enjoy ripping us a new one, but jeez it hurts when you have to pay 120%+ markup on the same bottle I had to leave in the car. Furthermore, the first four wines I wanted to purchase were not on the menu, so the 600 wine list will cater to a small portion of the usual suspects. Lastly, watch out for the $9 per roll charge which is madness. Excluding some of the cons above the night was very enjoyable and will provide either a group or couple a great meal. Food 8/10 service 9/10 decor 8/10

As a long standing regular pleased to enjoy sails' finest tonight. Wonderful fresh seafood mixed for entree topped by a Devine Asian short rib for main. Simply excellent. Hats off to the chef and team.

Dined here yesterday as a group of 6 people for a business lunch. The food was superb however I wasn't overly impressed with the service which lost a star for me. The staff were a little rude at times, service was slow also. The place was busy but there is no excuse for rudeness. The food however was astounding I ordered the prawns as an entree, the pasta as a main and churros for dessert! No complaints for the food at all! The pasta was a delightful surprise nothing like I expected and absolutely delicious!

Absolutely stunning views from Sails front row tables! The restaurant sits directly on Noosa Main Beach

Love, love, love Sails for its incredible position on Noosa Main Beach. The Wow factor is self evident. However I have a big BUT. The menu has seen some changes since our visit last year. Thats a good thing but I plead with the Chef to use other herbs than coriander as it seems to predominate the menu . It find its way into nearly every offering and as i am allergic to it , it is extremely restrictive of what I can choose. A prime example here is the tantalisingly tempting Entree of Soft shell Mud crab...but it is marinated in coriander infused oil so not for me and I know that I am not alone on this coriander issue. Unfortunately Noosa chefs seem besotted with the herb. It is laced through every Noosa restaurant menu. What is wrong with using Thai Royal Basil or mint for an asian twist? Further more Coriander is such a dominant strong flavoured herb that it usually over powers the subtle flavours of something as delicate as seafood anyway. That was also the opinion of my husband of his meal. Thankfully , I was able to have the coriander free Duck Arrancini Risotto balls for entree and the King George whiting as a Mains. My husband had the Soft shell crab and the Pancetta wrapped Bug tails and was very happy. The meal was very good , the bottle of French Sancerre wine was delicious and the views spectacular. I just hope that after ten years of coming to Noosa and to Sails, that for next years visit, coriander will have finally ,finally 'moved on'. I would have awarded four stars but due to the excessive use of coriander, and the fact that it removed for me so much choice , I can only offer 3 stars.

what a relaxing venue. stylish, dress to impress! very qualified staff, excellent cuisine. wine list europe orientated, check spirits! perfect location 10 meters from beach. great view and away from hustle and bustle. romantic place, surely. 10 out of 10 points. prices reasonable, if you take into account quality of food, drinks, ambiente and staff!

Recently under new owners and decided to try it. One reason to come but definitely a great one,…read morethe seafood platter for two. The platter is huge, with oysters (probably the best item), clams, mussels, Moreton Bay Scallops, calamari with halloumi (probably the best non-fried calamari I've ever had), prawns (huge and very tasty), shoestring potatoes and a few other things that I don't remember but certainly enjoyed. Also, given their Tasmanian roots, some of the seafood is unique to La Vida rather than what you see at the other restaurants. This platter is definitely worth one of your evenings in Noosa.

Bugs. Moreton Bay or Balmain. Shovel Nosed Lobsters. The family Scyllaridae…read more I have loved these critters for ever. Up at Noosa Moreton Bay Bugs are a joy to behold, if you can find somewhere that be holdin' them. Problem is most places want to show off with my little guys and put them in a ravioli or turn them into some kind of foam or do something weird with them so that they aren't bugs any more. Not this place. It used to be called Lindonis I think - thats probably why I am the first to review it. Fact is its been here for twenty years, but for my 200th review I am happy to declare this place serves the best bugs this side of a dirty Chinese kitchen. BBQ'd with garlic and dill butter. Thats all. And eight, yep eight of the little bottom feeders! It takes very good chef to know that the produce is the star and not the cook. I remember an old mate once told me that in French cuisine the chef is the star and in Italian the food is the star. Here the bugs are the stars. We shared a plate of crumbed calarmari and a plate of veggies, which, because this place is classy, was called a 'stack'. The calarmari was sensational, even though it looked like the sort of meal you'd get at a suburban Pizza joint. I asked why they were so good and the owner told me they were fresh caught, marinated in kiwi fruit for just long enough to tenderise them but not so long as to cook them and that the crumb was a special Japanese technique known only to direct descendants of the Samurai Emperor Bugsansei. And I believe her. Left my phone at home 'cos up here you eat in boardies - your good ones for upmarket places and your old faves for the other places. Keeno has some photos which the kids may be able to upload to this review. I shouldn't even try or I will break something.

I beg to differ with Jacob, sorry bud…read more I had an excellent experience at Seasons. The wait staff were absolutely interpersonal and efficient. I was on vacation and felt the speed was complementing the tranquility and beauty Noosa has to offer. Seriously, I'm an indecisive customer and I have worked in a restaurant in Los Angeles, I give kudos to waitress from Melbourne who gave me details on the menu. I ended up ordering the seafood appetizer plate and pinot grigio and it was fabulous!! If I ever return to Noosa, I will return to this place, as the service and ambiance was fabulous. BTW ladies, there's this guy who works here that looks just like Jude Law!

This last time it took 10-15 minutes for coffee to come out so we had to ask, but when in Noosa we're never in a hurry. Usually, service is fine and always friendly. We ordered some nice juices (pineapple-mint, carrot-apple-celery-beetroot-ginger, and watermelon-apple), coffees, and brekky: - roast field mushrooms, goat cheese, and pesto on chibatta: very nice! Creative / original / beautiful. Easily the group's favorite (yes, we of course all sampled each others food) - smoked salmon, asparagus, baby spinach, poached egg, holandaise: the saftest/most traditional choice. We liked the egg and multigrain bread, but as said a safe choice. - lambs fry & bacon, wilted spinach, pea & chive croquette, pepper sauce: a mans breakfast ;-)! Liver (main part of this plate) was a bit overdone so this was our least favorite of the three. But, next time in Noosa, we'll be back.
