They have a rather small selection of ready-to-go meals, and I think they only get one delivery of pastries per day. But they're open early, they're open late, and their prices are good, in spite of being the only food option for the numerous hotels and upscale residential developments that have gone up nearby. I prefer this store to many other branches of Waitrose, the store has a good feel to it, and it is in a useful location within a large shopping centre, meaning you can pick up essentials or even do a weekly shop while picking up the rest of your shopping across the mall. They have handheld scanners at the front of the store, meaning you can scan as you walk around the score, or use the QR code for mobile scanning. This is a handy feature more and more stores are offering now, but Waitrose seem to do it well, rather than playing hide and seek with the QR codes (I'm talking about you Sainsbury's) or forgetting about a mobile app altogether (I'm talking about you Tesco) Obviously, the prices are slightly higher than other supermarkets as Waitrose is a more premium brand, but they do have some products where the pricing is reasonable/competitive, the free-from range could be much better, which is the main reason I prefer Marks and Spencer at the other end of the mall. Even though I vastly prefer M&S, Waitrose and boutique shops over Tescos, the local branch is closer than everything else so sometimes convenience wins out. Usually the determination on whether or not to go into Tescos is pretty simple: Am I getting a mass produced thing in a can or a box? Tescos is fine. Otherwise, head elsewhere. The produce and meat here is definitely inferior to the nicer stores so you'll want to skip that entirely. Sometimes I can't be bothered so I'll get some meal deal thing here but make no mistake the sandwiches and wraps are several orders of magnitude inferior to M&S so you're going to get what you pay for; if you actually exit a store with "Korean BBQ wrap with cheddar and bacon" then you get what you deserve! I should add that the service at this Tescos is way, way better than some of the smaller stores.

The layout and aisle organisation has improved and lots more in the way of fresh foods, lunch and bakery items. I had a little smile on my face until I got to the til. Still a confused mess. Loads more and added self serve but still a nightmare of people not moving along, having love affairs at the checkout or confusion as to which side they want to queue on. Get it together!
