A full-size Tesco that probably runs more than 200,000 square feet and is pretty chock full of all the things you need to operate a household. Groceries, produce, meats, cheeses, sweets, soda, beer, spirits, cleaning supplies, you name it! The shop was pretty well organized and the prices were easy to find and I think are quite competitive. Plenty of tills ("registers" in American) and the cashier that helped me was quite pleasant and friendly. Very large parking area and I'm sure there's a petrol station out there somewhere.

I lived right around the corner from this Tesco for almost a year and was often pleased with the…read moreselection, but at times was very annoyed at the quality they provided. This Tesco was large and had an electronics section, clothing, music, house hold stuff etc. Its almost like a crappy Target. Regardless, this is where I went grocery shopping. The produce section was probably the best part of the store. They had fresh fruits and veggies, assuming you go there in the day or two after the shipment arrived. I love the mini lettuce they had, as it was perfect for sandwiches. The dairy area was fine, including the cheeses, which were best if you bought Scottish or Welsh cheese. The meat was a different story. Ground red meat = terrible. Chicken = acceptable. Sausages = pretty good. Fish = pathetic. I guess I'm spoiled by much of the red meat I get in the US, so unless you got the top choice meat here, it was pretty poor in my opinion. This isn't a knock on the store though and did not contribute to the 3 star rating. Overall this place had enough stuff to be a good grocery store, but had many downsides. Price wise, it was a great deal locally.

I really have no idea how they have managed to cram THAT much product under one roof, but man, I'm not going to complain about it. Prices here have always seemed very reasonable here as well. Also the people that work here are always so nice. I was APPALLED..! Out of the 3 cubilcles, one was closed "out of order", the remaining 2 cubicles had not a single sheet of toilet paper in them. 2 out of the 3 urinals obviously had leaks as they had plastic buckets below. 1 hand basin out of the 3 provided was taped over "out of order" and the remaining 2 only delivered cold water and no soap dispenser in sight. Of the 2 hand dryers only 1 was working. I have tried to find and email address for Asda (either the branch or head office) - but Asda do NOT seem to believe in Emails. I know not whether these toilets are the responsibility of Asda or the shopping mall manager but I shall do my damndest to find out and I shall also be contacting Newham council with reference to the dismally poor hygiene that awaits you at these particular "conveniences".
