I think prices are pretty comparable to Lung Wah, however the vegetables here are more varied, cheaper, and better quality, I've found. Most of the veg at Lung Wah is pretty sad, so I come here for my East Asian vegetables that I can't get anywhere else.

It's not the place to do your weekly shop, but is convenient for little things that you might have forgotten to buy. Queues are long but fast moving at peak times. One thing that does put me off is that most of the fresh fruit and veg is pre-packaged, which means that a) you can't pick out exactly what you want, and b) you can't have smaller amounts than are in the bags.

There are no surprises, and it's not really the height of luxury, but there's a good selection of fruit juices and a section of bakery goods and lunch time snacks/meals. Because it's only Sainsbury's Local, as opposed to the main shop, you don't really get the good Sainsbury's Basics deals or the more unusual foods, but there's usually a suitable alternative available. The queue often snakes around the shop and is very offputting, but it moves surprisingly quickly; they've got a very efficient system going, so don't be put off because of that. The most frustrating thing is trying to fit everything into a bag on the tiny counter, as the shop assistants work very quickly! Some are friendly, some aren't so, but you'll get your food for a reasonable price, so it doesn't really matter.

Be careful to check the opening times - I always seem to go at the wrong time. It's more convenient than going to the main post office, though, and does most of the same things: most importantly, you can post things and get certain foreign currencies (eg: Euros) pretty easily. Aside from postal facilities, it stocks a good range of magazines, especially some more unusual, academic ones. It's the sort of shop you pop into when you know exactly what you want and you're in a hurry. Excellent.

This is a really large sized Co-op, offering good value on a wide range of products…read more they frequently have special offers on selected products- usually buy one get one free, or less than half price, making it even better value. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and there are a large number of checkouts which are opened during busy times to reduce the length of time you need to spend queueing to pay for your goods. They sell good quality fruit and vegetables, as well as snacks, ready meals, and household goods. The large size of the store enables it to stock a wide range of products, and so it caters to the vast majority of your needs. The prices are quite competitive, and the quality is good, so it is definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
