When I asked the till lady for my change in pound coins she sighed, gave me a right nasty look and reluctantly counted out the change, one coin at a time. Even though I was super polite and friendly and cheery and all 'I'm sorry to be a pain, thank you very much please thank you'. Ah well. Other than that, the shop was well stocked, the car park offered up to 2 hours free parking (not enough for me) for customers, and it was bright and nice enough.

Inside the store has a reasonable range of food, most things you might need to pop out for are available there. Everything is slightly more expensive than at the main Tesco store on Prince Avenue. This store is generally well laid out and accessible with a buggy. However where this store really falls down is at the tills. It has no proper queuing area and while they have tried to create this using temporary barriers the queue tends to block access to the aisles. It is often very long - I have counted 25 people before, although more recently they have tried ringing the bell and summoning other staff when it gets busy. This sometimes works and the queue quickly diminishes, but often the staff prefer to chat amongst themselves rather than serve customers

Waitrose's slogan is good food, honestly priced, and for me, this was like when Prince Charles said that food was too cheap. Don't get me wrong, it's not that they stock expensive food at expensive prices, I've never yet seen Beluga Cavier at £10 a pound, but it's that they stock products that I can get at other super-markets for cheaper, especially with the age of internet shopping on us. The staff are always very helpful though, and the shop has a very relaxed atmosphere about it for a super-market, and you don't feel stressed to the point you just want to charge around the store and get out. Because of it's size, Waitrose offers an excellent range of food, drink, media, and much more, and they're always fully stocked, even with their special offers and promotions.
