What I love about this church is how beautiful the ceremonies are especially during the Holy Week. My family never fails to spend the first 2 days of the Easter Triduum at Christ the King because of the solemnity. It's extremely difficult to find parking during the Holy Week though, but on normal Sundays, you can find parking space 30 minutes before the mass. It's always difficult to leave the parking lot, though. I suggest you park nearest to the exit, and once the mass is over, sprint towards your car to leave ahead of everyone else.

It was always a pleasant experience, emotions aside, from an objective standpoint. The staff here has done a fantastic job at maintaining the cleanliness, tidiness and brightness of the place. It feels very welcoming. Having said that, I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Christ the King as a venue for any of the aforementioned life or death events. Ample parking is available as well.

But they do also get many outside visitors who attend mass and other services, especially during holy days of obligation. It's a very comfortable little chapel with nice dark wood interiors and a solemn atmosphere, even amidst its environment of a lifestyle development. During Christmas and Holy Week, it gets filled to the edges and you often see mass-goers spilling onto the driveway and sidewalks in front. It's in a very accessible location and has many regular mass times, which makes it quite convenient especially for the many office workers working in Eastwood City. I think the chapel also remains open most of the time even in between masses, so people can freely go in and out to say a quick prayer.

She and her family are devout Catholics as are most Filipinos (86% Roman Catholic & 6% Christian religions & 2% Protestant). There is a growing Muslim minority in the southern Philippine island like Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (about 4%). She was actually named Josephine after St Joseph, her brother after St Anthony, her other brother is Ed after Santo Edilberto. Her mom is Salvacion & her dad is Ressurection While we were in the Philippines we attended mass on a number of occasions me on Sunday and her almost everyday as she does here. It's a beautiful old church located in Quezon City.

I eventually got to make a visit to attend a Deaf mass for Filipino Sign Language immersion, and for that experience alone it can be worth it, as there are several select churches that cater to deaf and hard-of-hearing people. But other than that, the church has an old-timey, homey charm about it that are lost on other, more "modern" churches. Yes they're also still somewhat bedecked in gold and grandeur and it can be a little dim as the windows are mostly just on the wall facing the street, but I guess it's their cozy size and art deco-like style and structure that can draw you in. It can be a tad claustrophobic as it feels a little walled-in when you're inside, but it's pretty, if you have an appreciation of churches.

Both of my graduation ceremonies for grade school and high school were also held in Saint Francis Parish. I consider it as one of the biggest and most beautiful churches out there. Once you enter this place, you'll immediately notice the huge image of Jesus Christ placed at the Church's center. There are also figurines of saints near the entrance where you can light a candle and add a prayer of intention for your loved ones. St. Francis of Assisi Parish has regular Sunday morning masses that start at 5:30 AM, while afternoon and evening masses start at 5:00 PM. If you don't have the time to go to the weekend masses, St. Francis Parish also has masses and services every weekdays. Franciscan priests often lead the masses in St. Francis Church. Listen to their homilies well, because you will truly be enlightened by their words of wisdom.

The namesake of the church, St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and the environment. The church is quite large, and the interior design is simply beautiful. One can't help but contemplate and feel solemn if left alone here. Aside from that, the chapel right beside the church is simple, yet intimate. It can only house around 10 people comfortably, and is quite cozy. The Sunday masses start from 7:30 in the morning with 15 minute intervals in between until 12:15, and then continue from 5:00 until 8:30 in the evening. The homilies are typically well written by experienced Franciscan priests and preach humility and brotherhood. In terms of location, St. Francis Church is very convenient. Its location near the EDSA-Shaw intersection places it right next to major malls such as Shangri-La Plaza, SM Megamall, Podium, and even Robinson's Galleria.

As a kid who wasn't too keen in attending Sunday masses, EDSA Shrine was my redeeming exception. I remembered being excited when my mom says that we'll be hearing mass here instead of the usual Caloocan church because it meant that we'll be going to the mall after. PROS: The primary reason that I loved it here was because IT HAS AIR CONDITIONING! With the usual antique and gargantuan churches of the Metro, this was my literal breathe of fresh air. The second one was, as a child who barely understood Tagalog before, this was the first church I've been that has masses in the English language. Even sermons get less boring if you can understand what the people are saying; This is another showcase of the wonderful works of Locsin and Abueva, plus (my favorite) Orlina's floating, glowing, green, glass sculpture. It's simply mesmerizing to look at, even during a whole hour. CONS: It's in Ortigas Center, so expect heavy traffic and difficult parking spaces. TL;DR: EDSA Shrine has a special place in my heart, not just because of its historic symbolism, but also because of its beauty.

They also have airconditioning so it's great for those hot summer days when the heat becomes unbearable. Through the years, I have grown to love it as I have witnessed many weddings of close friends and relatives here. I used to think that it was too gold (decor of the altar and its surroundings) but whenever I see the wedding photos, I realize that the gold background makes the photos look brighter and more alive. They're also a great wedding venue because they have a great system when it comes to booking with them. I've helped many friends and relatives with their weddings and none of them has had a problem with this church. I highly recommend it for weddings and even for regular Sunday/weekday masses.

It doesn't have the history of San Agustin or its ornate carvings and sculptures, but it is still beautiful in its own way. Santuario de San Jose has been always been the favorite of many an engaged couple. I know of a lot of friends whose dream is to get married here. The reasons have always been consistent - First, the church gets beautiful natural sunlight, so you look better in pictures and second, it has a long aisle, so the bride has a longer time to enjoy her dress and the awe of her family and friends. You can't find this anywhere else. Also, they have air conditioning if that helps.
