Large outdoor dining on roof. 8-10 tables inside. Full bar. Traveling carnival across the street lent an incredibly exciting atmosphere. Cook staff only spoke French but our lovely waitress could communicate well in English. 8-10 different pizzas and we didn't look at other options. Four different wines in each category so we chose the local white. Very nice. We planned on sharing a pizza but waitress convinced us we needed two. In the end we each ate half and I had pizza for my petite dejener this morning. We seemed to be the only Americans there which I like and indicates it's not a tourist place. Pizza was thin in center, requiring knife and fork, but a nice, thick, perfectly cooked crust allowed finishing it off by hand. All in all, a tasty, fairly priced interlude. €66 for two 12", multiple ingredient pizzas, a full bottle of wine, a liter of San Pelegrín and one of those tiny French coffees that I'm developing a taste for. If I were to return to .st. Remy for a third time I'd be sure to stop here.

Quite simple meals like steak and potatoes or the area's famous large salads are what fills the menu. The desserts definitely cannot be skipped. The only downside was the service was really slow and we were often waiting quite a long time for our food or drinks.

Servers are affable and accommodating to dietary menu amendments, something many other Provence restaurants discourage. We dined there twice with consistently impressive results. The menu is diverse by Provence standards, where many restaurants offer two or three main courses. There are two can't-miss menu options that should be on every diner's table: (1) the lamb shoulder, which cooks for seven hours and can be separated with a spoon; and (2) the Asian marinated pork ribs, similarly cooked for five hours until it simply falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Somehow, even with these delicacies, the desserts steal the show. Guests are invited to the dessert display to select their meal's final course. Make sure you leave plenty of room and order several desserts to sample.

And then when the daylight was fading, they turned on these bright LED lights in the umbrellas overhead -- we suddenly felt like we were dining in a doctors office.. And after all this, the only solution the manager came up with (after never coming over to our table at all) was for us to take our half eaten meal into their deserted indoor dining area across the street. Simply unacceptable. There were other problems as well but you get the idea...don't let the idyllic pictures fool you, AVOID this place at all costs! That"s $200 we will never get back.
