He was in agony due to a toothache and is not supposed to take aleve due to kidney issues Tylenol won't touch the pain for him he knows this. Aleve and ibuprofen are jokes for tooth aches and he is supposed to avoid them I am sure you are good people and mean well but your actions and policies are cruel and they don't have to be . He has no idea how long it might take to see the dentist he just realized this is acute. He already tried to tough it out with over the counter meds but at first he came here not due to pain but in fear he was having a heart attack. But as he sat here the pain got unbearavble. He is over 60 and rarely visits the ER and only does for heart issues and you could easily see that he never asked for pain meridine at the ER in the past. This time he did - --- he pointed out he slept 3 hours last night. THis is an elderly patient who has had cardiac issues has a medical history locally online and they could validate the cause of his pain. it was more than just the tooth. the first dr was very nice and was going to help find something which by the way he only asked for nerve medicine as it had helped i the past. Teeth are part of your neurological system and surely there is some nonaddictive pain medicine you can find for teeth if that is the concern. The second dr said just use aleve which is not sufficient! --watch wanda sykes on ibuprofen. We had just come back from a show and it was a weekend. We left tht show at inter issue due to his pain shooting in his face. He also had a high 175/101 blood pressure which was because of the pain! this is just cruelty on wheels. You are so busy trying to avoid drug shoppers--who would show a history of tons of visits to the ER etc etc --that you deny empathy and compassion to those who need it the most. You could have seen that he literally had a broken bone months ago but did not ask for special pain medicine. But now he was in agony and he is a cardiac patient and I am beside myself seeing him suffer for no reason at all. Please read this on the ethics of pain management. You could have just given him a few days worth. For me it was a nightmare! It all started because I didn't want to lay completely flat when being changed. Every time they'd lay me flat I couldn't breathe well. I just wanted it up a few inches from where the flat level was...this apparently is some kind of tabu! As they fought me, locked the bed so I couldn't move it up a little. (I've been hospitalized many times since in other hospitals and they knew that ALS patients on a ventilator had this problem, not to mention I have dysautonomia which causes my heart to spike which it did every single time they put me flat, causing constriction in my chest! and I have Myasthenia Gravis with breathing problems from it) Well this seemed to have given me a name as a "difficult patient" Which I was not, I only wanted to breathe and kept politely asking them to please don't put me completely flat! I had one aid who tossed me around like a rag doll! He kept asking me to roll over but someone had wound my vent hose up around the pole so every time I'd try to roll my vent would come out. He yelled at me yanked me over and asked me what I was doing. I kept trying to point to the hose, as I can no longer talk, he looks at and tells me I'm being difficult and yanks me over again, and again the vent comes off. This was terrifying to me. All I could think of was all those videos showing abuse in hospitals/nursing homes! I was afraid of him! I had another aid who wouldn't listen to me that I was choking and finally I asked to to go get the respiratory therapist! She goes out in the hall yells for the guy and tells him I'm just having a panic attack but was demanding for him! Um noooo I was choking and needed help you moron!!!!! She should NOT be working there!!!!! I had one Respiratory therapist who refused to read what I was trying to tell her about my health. I had one nurse yell at me for having to pee right after peeing, and when I tried to write to tell her I think I have a UTI she refused to read. (Which it was confirmed the next day that I did have a nasty one!) I had one doctor reduce my Prednisone without my consent or knowledge! Had he told me I would have had him call my neuro, and I would have been able to tell him my body doesn't react well to it being lowered! One night I coded I was non responsive, to this day I believe it was due to Prednisone being lowered too quickly! When I found out that happened, I asked if they were giving me the right amount of Prednisone! It was then that I found out through the nurse what he was doing with the prednisone! I heard nurses and aids talking about patients (in a bad way) in the hallways loud enough for all to hear.... Horrible! The list is so long of the things I endured while there, I've told my family and doctors NEVER to send me back there! I had to wait a 1/2 an hour for someone to answer the bell. This isn't good when you're on a vent! After saying all of that I do have say I had some really really loving people while I was there too. Some of the respiratory people were so kind and compassionate! They were my life line in a horrible experience! I looked forward to them and the sweet nurses who would come in daily and knew what had been happening .They were so good but the bad out shadowed the good! I felt like I was already traumatized, I didn't feel safe being there, and I couldn't leave! My husband complained to the CEO, and after that things did get better, and the horrible workers were kept away from me! We also complained to the charge nurses! Hospital social worker and anyone else that could help! It was the longest month of my life! If you complain they will help you! Which is good, but I shouldn't had to go through any of it! (This my experience only others may have had a difference experience, these are my opinions only others may have their own opinions!) P.S. If you are there at this hospital and they tell you you are not successfully weening because you're panicking or it's anxiety, trust your body . Trust your instincts!

Room where injection was done was noisy, with way too much casual chit chat. I only had a local so I heard everything. Next the nurse monitoring my vital signs disconnected all the monitoring devices at least 5 to 7 minutes before the procedure was done. When I asked the her why, she snapped that she thought the procedure was done in a very curt tone. Then she half ass reconnected the blood pressure cuff very loosely placing it around my wrist. Next, the doctor who was doing the epidural let the catheter clot so another dose of medication had to be drawn up and another injection placed. So while another syringe of medication was being drawn up I am wondering why the procedure wasnt finished. No explanation of what was going while treating a conscious patient. The final straw was the explanation the doctor gave of what happened during the procedure. The details of how the catheter clotted off were so sketchy I couldn't understand it. All in all the experience that I just went through was not at all positive and I dont believe I will return.

If that is not what you are looking for, you should seek a different Ob Gyn. We are expecting our first and tried one smaller practice before coming here. The Doctor we saw there was awful, treated us like a number and not like newly excited expecting parents. I did a little research and found this practice. When I called I explained my previous experience and the scheduling lady connected us with Dr. Abraham. He had been phenomenal. He treats us like people, asks us questions, let's us ask questions, and has helped me have a fairly stress-free first pregnancy experience. Dr. Abraham isn't the only one that has made our experience enjoyable. The ladies at the reception desk are kind, the intake nurse is a sweetheart, and all but one of the other Doctors in the practice that we have seen have been great. The checkout ladies sometime lack a little personality but you can't have it all! I am so happy we found this practice and will stay with them through this pregnancy and our future adventures!

I just had a baby girl and decided to get dinner. the cafeteria was closed so I was walking back down the hall which just happens to be ALL the way across the hospital and while walking I overheard the cop I passed on the way to the cafeteria telling the other cops I looked suspicious and needed watched. I have on multiple wristbands and rather than just ask me as I walked by he just felt it necessary to say those things loud enough for me to hear. it made me feel like a criminal for coming to a woman's hospital for my my wife's pregnancy. I was unable to eat anymore from anything but the vending machine on my floor (which has horrid snacks) I have high anxiety and the police here made my anxiety got the best of me and I was afraid to walk back down to any other floors but the one I was on. As much as i I loved the nursing staff and would love to keep them, I'll be switching my new babies care to se St. Vincent due to this. I just can't justify going to a place where people are treated like criminals for no good reason.
