I have done business with Robert Fisher for over 20 years. I have bought a variety of instruments from him over that time, and have always found his knowledge of musical instruments to be very valuable. I have also found him to be fair and honest in his pricing and his dealing with customers. I have noted the horrible reviews given here by other people, and can only say that I have at times been forced to wait for an item I wanted. The reason is very simple. Musical instrument manufacturers are not known for sensible planning. They load their warehouses with dozens of cheap guitar models that nobody wants, because those have the highest profit margin for the company. Then, since they've spent all their money on Chinese boatloads of that crap, they don't have any left over to stock the upper end instruments with any regularity. They seem to think that someone like me will buy a $250 guitar from them because the $1500 guitar I wanted wasn't available. (Guess again, idiots...) The other common business practice seems to be the Rickenbacker plan: be backordered 24+ months on every single model. It has driven me crazy over the years. Still, Robert has given me all the facts he has available to him whenever I've inquired about any instrument. My advice to anyone who wants a 100% guarantee of "in stock at all times" is to go buy a Fender. Sure, you'll pay 200% of what the instrument is actually worth, because you're paying for the word "Fender" on the headstock, and also subsidizing their warehouse costs. Or you can buy from Guitar Center; again, you're paying their rent, and for the fact that it hung on a wall for 6 months before you bought it. When you're talking about buying high quality instruments at a good price from smaller companies, you can either be patient, and realize that most instrument manufacturing companies are run by folks with very little business acumen, or just be prepared to be disgruntled a lot. read more

******BUYER BEWARE ******I purchased an Alvarez guitar through Saint Fishy's in February of 2013 for $2051.99; I paid through Paypal. At the time of purchase, Robert told me to "Hurry to get the order in, we do not want to miss 1 of the 2 left in the U.S". Following Robert's request, I paid in full that same day. After 1 month I called to inquire and was told that they were still waiting to receive the guitar from Alvarez. In my second call to Robert, another month later, I was reassured that the guitar was secured through my initial payment and all we could do it wait on Alvarez. Eventually after 6 months passed I called yet again; Saint Fishy's told me that they had filled for bankruptcy. I was told that Saint Fishy's would find away to reimburse and that they would call me the following month. A few months passed without a call. I followed-up once again and received the same promise to refund and was told that I would hear from them in the next month. To this day I have never received the refund, nor did I ever receive the promised follow-up call from Robert or anyone at Saint Fishy's. Makes me wonder if they ever had intentions to call me (its been almost two years now). I loved dealing with Saintfishy's, they responded to all of my emails promptly, got me into an alternate instrument and signed me up for tracking updates so I knew how far along my order was. I've worked in customer service and I know how hard it is to balance the needs of multiple orders, I can only imagine what throwing in an online element would be like, and I'm grateful for the careful attention I received. read more

The BEST rentals in Memphis. Lower prices than the other stores and the owners let your son or daughter pick their own instruments. They have all the supplies and will fix them on site or give you a loaner. They have lessons. I do not know the teachers because we have not elected for lessons. But if you need a school instrument to rent THESE ARE THE GUYS! read more
