This place is such a gem, and we're really lucky to have this cozy spot in BMT. From the accessibility, to the service, to the food, and the fair pricing--5/5. We love coming here for a substantial meal and although we've had a little bit of everything from the menu, the sushi paired with fried rice is a can't miss! Keep up the great work!

My wife and I go here at least three times a month we love it is our go to dinner establishment and at the Asheville area even though it's 20 minutes from home, we make the trip and we enjoy it every time

We hit this spot kinda late on a Sat. night, about 30 min. before close. Service was a bit lacking I think due to that. We never got any drink refills and had to wait for boxes and bill. The space was a little clustered due to cleaning for closing. We enjoyed the crab ragoons the filling was delicious althought they were a bit well done outside. We got hibachi dinners which were good. It came with miso soup which we didn't like but never had it before. The dinners themselves were good but nothing special. It comes with plain rice but you can get brown or fried rice for additional charge. Overall probably not a place we'll hurry back to but easy in and out and good location for us if we want Japanese food.

Tucked into a little strip mall that's tucked into a gorgeous wooded area. When we drove up the patio was full and there were a few folks in the entry. But they had us seated in just a couple minutes. Lots of locals here and lots picking up Takeout so we knew that was a great sign. Service was excellent! We were well taken care of but not bothered. The drinks, appetizers and meals were all really good. Fresh and flavorful. If you're in the area, give this place a shot, you won't be sorry.

Stopped for a quick lunch - Served daily from 1100 to 1500 (Except weekends) Tip: Closed on Tuesdays and their hours are from 1100 to 2130 and the weekdays are not as busy as the weekends and service is much quicker and less crowded than the weekends and you'll hav a choice of seating with less noise than on the weekdays. Weekday Lunch Specials include a Bento Box or Sushi or Sashimi Lunch Specials are served from 1100 to 1500 Their lunch special bento boxes include a spring roll, three (3) pieces of a California roll, and a choice of either miso soup or salad and selection of tempura, teriyaki, and Katsura. Their sashimi and sushi lunch specials include either a five (5) piece sushi or twelve (12) piece of Sashimi Lunch Special of the chefs assortment and choice that is served with a bowl of rice. Their two (2) or three (3) roll lunch specials comes with a choice of miso soup or salad with a ginger dressing and a choice from their traditional and various sashimi grade seafoods or vegetarian option rolls Or you can order off of their à la carte menu of that is the same on the weekends of a choice of sushi or sashimi rolls. (See photos of their lunch special and a la cart menus) Decided to have three (3) different spicy rolls in their three (3) roll lunch special today. Had a spicy, tune, spicy salmon and a spicy crab roll to see if I could distantly tell the differences in the sashimi grade seafoods and I could. The tuna and salmon were very fresh finely chopped pieces with hot chill sauce and the crab was very tasty as well All three (3) sushi's were "Delish" and I highly recommend and will be back to Sake Sushi located on Market Street in the Cheshire Village Center off of HWY 9 heading towards Bat Cave in Black Mountain, NC

Chicken ramen. Huge portion. Plenty of noodles.

I can't say enough great things about this place. The food was delicious and the service was so wonderful. Between all of us we tried the ramen, teriyaki, dinner bento boxes and udon noodles and everyone loved their meal. I thought we might be underdressed but they were warm and welcoming. I loved how fast the food came but quality was excellent. We are from out of town or this would be a definite repeat.

Charming sushi restaurant with good hot sake and sushi. I was surprised how cute this sushi place was and needed a nice break from traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina. Dinner was delicious. I had yellowtail and Alaskan sushi rolls. The sugar daddy had stir fried rice. He loved it!

Miso soup - ok I guess - I'm not a huge miso fan

Great little Japanese restaurant up here in the mountains of NC. The spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The presentation for all of the meals was top notch. The service was good and the prices weren't bad either. I ordered the chicken Teriyaki bento box so that I could try a lot of different things, and for $15, it was a great value. Ironically enough, the chicken Teriyaki was my least favorite part of the meal. It was ok, but the sauce was overly sweet, even for Teriyaki. Other than that, everything was delicious - the shrimp tempura, the California roll, the dumplings - all excellent! My husband ordered a steak noodle dish with GF buckwheat noodles and that was delicious too. All in all, we enjoyed it and were glad we gave it a try!

American size portions of sushi? They are ok but just not a fresh crisp presentation. The wait staff is kinda sketchy.

There was a nice size portion, the taste was delightful. The rice was cooked to perfection. 7 put of 10 Restaurant is very clean. Staff is friendly. 8 out of 10 I personally feel the best time to come into the restaurant is between three and five. It's not as busy. The food is still fresh and delicious. I rate the atmosphere 7. out of 10. The restaurant is right next to the gas station. Don't let that fool you this is a great little hole in the wall to visit, talk with the staff. Yes, there is a language barrier to a degree but they're so friendly and nice to take a minute how are you doing? I took the time to talk with the owner of the restaurant, I personally feel getting to know your local restaurant owners and staff is a good thing. It'll make your dining experience better. Zew, started creating sushi and cooking Japanese food back in 2001, Mr. Sushi opened in 2017, there was not very many sushi restaurants in the Asheville then. There's been many sushi restaurants come and go since then. There are Sushi/ Japanese/Hibachi restaurants in the area, however this one is truly a wonderful restaurant to visit it's quaint and down to earth-place, this is why I highly recommend this restaurant this is restaurant. with great personality. Zew is. Owners he is a delight to talk with, you see the passion in his face when he's talking about his food that he's created the original rolls that he makes. I recommend trying the Rangoon roll. There's no fish in it. It's there's imitation crab. It's a wonderful thing that he is doing here and he has truly traditional Japanese fried noodles. Which is very much a difference between the Chinese way of cooking the noodles. As much as I'd like to give five stars I cannot because I rarely give five stars. I love this place. I would return to this place and I hope that you will come to this place too and enjoy wonderful sushi and a little a hole in the wall from somebody that has compassion for the food he creates.

We brought the rest home and discarded it. While the food had a very attractive appearance, the taste was just not wonderful. We spent 50.00 and did not leave ravings about how good it was or how much we enjoyed it. I do not like to review negatively but sushi should be fresh, tasty and satisfying. I don't think we will eat here again.

It is located in downtown Asheville so there is no immediate parking lot but there are some places nearby or street parking, The inside is very modern and there is seating both inside and outside. Our server was very friendly and service was very prompt! My family got the Lo Mein with Chicken, Chow Fun with Beef, Sautéed String Bean, Buddha Bean Curd Rolls, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, and Spicy Chicken. I loved the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings! The wrapper was very tender and the shrimp filling was delicious. It tasted very authentic to me. I also loved the Sautéed String Bean as it had the right amount of garlicky sauce. The Lo Mein was made with thinner than usual noodles but still tasted good. I think the Chow Fun tasted a bit off. It kind of tasted a bit sweet and like drunken noodles at some points as opposed to the traditional smoky flavor that the dish has. The rice noodles that were used were also thin as opposed to the usual wider noodles. As for the Spicy Chicken, it tasted solid. I liked the slight crisp before biting into each piece and it was not really spicy. I definitely tasted the cumin (I am not a super big fan of), which is a popular flavor found in Szechuan cuisine. Overall, I think this is a nice spot for some Chinese food, especially being near the mountains which is more isolated. I wish chicken feet were part of their dim sum menu (it is pretty small and there are no rolling carts in case anyone is wondering). I do think some flavors of the food I tasted seem to cater a bit more to the Western taste palate (my parents agree as well), but I enjoyed my time here.

The staff were extremely helpful. I mentioned I was looking for vegetarian options, and the bar tender thoughtfully guided me through the various options on both the tapas and ramen menus. That made for a great experience. In terms of the food, I opted for the miso eggplant and the garlic butter broccoli. Both were excellent. The miso eggplant is served as well cooked Japanese eggplant with a light tempura treatment and somewhat sweet miso glaze. Not too heavy, but still delicious and nicely textured. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. It made for a nice pairing. In terms of beer, they had a few different local beers on tap. I went for a local pale ale. Great. In any case, this place is highly recommended. I suspect their vegetarian ramen would probably be pretty good, but that was a little heavier than what I was looking for. It was nice to have a few other vegetable forward options available as a backup.
