I went into the store looking for only one thing and just like most times you pick up additional items. This was my first time to Saks off fifth and I was very surprised on the pricing for the designer brands. I think I bought around 15 things which is something that I never do. I still have clothes that I wear from high school and college!!!?? The staff was very friendly and courteous, and answered plenty of questions. The one thing I did not like about the store I wish it could have been better. It was that they had more staff and more available dressing rooms. But overall, my experience was very good and despite the , small amount of staff because no one was coming to work according to the folks working there. My experience was really good. I will be back, but on a Sunday instead of a Saturday when I know there will be less people shopping. I also found a brand new favorite clothing company that I had never been aware of named Tailor Byrd. Their clothes are amazing and they fit very well. So I will admit that they have a fan in me going forward for semi casual wear, three button polo, shirts, and shorts that can be worn on the golf course or in a semi casual setting. read more

I ordered an item online from Saks OFF5th and it was never shipped. Frustrating especially since it's Christmas time and it was a present. Saks OFF 5th can see the item was not shipped, but will not issue a credit until they investigate with UPS what happened , 3-10 days, and then, up to another 8 days to issue refund after that. So their policy for an item they KNOW didn't ship, is to make the customer wait potentially 3weeks for a refund. And customer service just keeps repeating the "company policy". This customer is not satisfied :( That policy makes no sense to me, when they know it didn't ship, yet the customer has to wait for them to process a claim and figure out their error. The customer should be taken care of right away, refund issued, and then they can figure out internally what went wrong. read more

Went in to saks to make a return this morning and their systems were down, making them unable to finish the return on the spot. Instead of telling me I'd have to come back another day, the manager (it seemed?) Maria came out and offered to let me keep the clothes with her and process the return for me later when the systems were working again. She made copies of all the necessary documents and gave me her name, email, and phone number so I could follow up with her directly if needed. The customer service was very unprofessional and not friendly at all. I received really low-quality jewelry from online and they refused to take it for return. I then tracked my order and found out the jewelry's brand was actually sent from a third party supplier Despite the brand is Saks Made In Italy. There could be discrepancy for the store return, but their staff Sonia and Luke was not friendly and also one staff's mask kept falling off showing her nose which made me as a customer quite concerning. read more

Flea market experience. I stopped into the store as I was in the area and was incredibly disappointed in the quality and selection of goods- not at all comparable to the website. In addition, I was appalled by the professionalism of staff and treatment of the customer in line before me. She explain that she had come some distance to return a gift in new conditionl for a 90-year-old relative with cancer who was not able to come in for himself and provided a receipt to obtain a credit for him as he had very little disposable income but would like to instead shop online with her assistance for the correct size, and the agent at the register unapologetically dismissed her suggesting the corporate policy was 30 days and a single day over would not be honored. When she asked to speak to the manager. The manager Richard was on his phone and could not be bothered to look up despite customers waiting in line. He finally looked up after several minutes and shortly told her the same and looked away. The customer was clearly upset and asked their names to pass along her experience a corporate, however the cashier would not provide it and they laughed as she walked away. Saks should do away with this off 5th location. I was shocked as this customer was very polite and professional, and was clearly attempting to do a kind thing for a sick family member. What a waste of time. This dirty place is literally full of junk that nobody wants. I came to look for a cocktail dress, only to find a bunch of grandma looking ugly ugly dresses. This was my first time shopping at asks off 5th. The pair of shoes that I wanted had some scuffs on them and rather than try to sell me on a different size Angelica was able to remove them by using a shoe repair kit (sold in the store) to make them look great! With my wedding less than two weeks away it was extremely important to have the perfect pair of shoes and my fiancé loves them. I will definitely be shopping at the saks off 5th in assembly row again. Angelica was knowledgable, professional, accommodating and enthusiastic. Incredible customer service! read more

Saks Off 5th just opened this past Friday. The store had amazing deals, pretty much an additional 40% off everything. Paying $120 for a ZAC ZAC Posen clutch is a steal. They also had great selections in every department and that is where the 3 stars stem from. Never the less, the store staff CLEARLY were not prepared. I am guessing there was a rush to open the store for Memorial Day weekend. The staff had no idea how to use the registers efficiently to keep the checkout line moving...I waited about 25mins to checkout. There were very few mirrors in the store and I had to ask an associate where to locate a mirror. The fitting room attendants were tired and not friendly. I have been to other Saks outlet stores and the overall staff was not up to par in comparison. Also, they are going to need top notch security in there because it was obvious there were folks in there trying to steal. This store is very unorganized and the management is atrocious. I have been in this store multiple times and each occasion has been worse and worse. I know that the store just recently opened and some of the associates are not up to speed but I can get past that. During my time there there have been numerous times that a shopper has walked out with alarm tags still attached to their clothing. The alarms work perfectly fine but nobody seems to pay any attention to the alarms. You can basically just walk out of there with what ever you want since they no longer have a security guard. (Go Figure)! Be careful with checking your prices as well. I went to buy a pair of pants and when I checked the price scanner the price was only $35 but at the register they are ringing up as $70. So be sure to check your items before going to the register. Management doesn't seem to mind that customers are over paying for already reduced clothing. I would shop somewhere else until the management gets the store running efficiently or corporate overhauls the whole place. read more

This is perhaps one of the worst retail experiences I have ever encountered. I make it a point to be courteous to all, and this day was no different. My wife broke her sunglasses and I decided to have a nice day with lunch and a surprise treat of a pair of new sunglasses. Of course, my wife's Champaign tastes lead her to a beautiful pair of tortoise designer sunglasses (I forget the brand, but on the level of Prada or Givenchy). We are not "luxury" shoppers, but sometimes quality shows as they did with these glasses. We arrive at the checkout areas (having navigated one of the messiest, disorganized and disgustingly dirty stores I have ever been in) and we are greeted by a young woman who waves us over, no smile or words, grabs the sunglasses from my hands (while putting her palm all over the lenses), scans is, drops them on the counter to go look for a case. I was shocked, but this isn't even the worst part. She comes back a few minutes later and says: "no box. $xxx is your total". No emotion, no sorry, no "is that okay?" I think we were both fine not having a box for the glasses, but these were nice! I wasn't going to pay over $100 and not have at least *something* to put them in. I really was polite and not at all superior (I really am very careful about this), and I ask if she could please look again or if there could be a little discount off the top. She eye-rolls, then says (can you believe this!): "B*tch this is an outlet store, f**k you want?" I was shocked. This on top of a dirty, disgusting, disorganized, store. We just went there yesterday to purchase a sweater for my mother in law and when we got home and clipped the tag we realized they overcharged us after comparing the tag with the receipt. When we brought it back in, the manager there didn't fully understand how we could have been overcharged and was reluctant to refund the difference. However after about 10 minutes of discussion and mild argument, he realized they had placed an inventory tag with the incorrect price while the person checking us out scanned the original tag with the original price. Although he was skeptical at first when we explained the situation, he remained professional and was very courteous and apologetic after realizing that it was their mistake. read more

Avoid it like the plague is right! The worst customer service in the world! Everyone that works here has a big attitude like you're a bother to them. So I stumbled into this dump as I was walking out of dinner. No one even acknowledges your existence so I picked up a few things and three items had no price tag on them. I asked the guy and he said just take them to the cashier and she'll ticket them and that's what I did as she was ringing me up she ticketed them and put the tags in pockets since she couldn't find the gun to attach the price to the item. I got home tried them on and two of the items were big. I came two days later to return them and the cashier skinny young African American lady started to question me with an accusatory attitude like if I wore them ... then I explained to her but she was very bothered and I told her why the attitude ? Why would I even wear them ? She tells me I Jj she attitude not her and stumps away to another register leaving me just like that waiting for her manger . Five minutes later he showed up trying to give me the same attitude but finally did the return. This is the most humiliating experience ever! I shop Saks and the staff there is amazing! Huge store with amazing deals - been there twice now - one during a crazy weekend and once on a quiet Wednesday. While the store and the merchandise are great the customer service, particularly at the registers is some of the worst I've ever seen. I understand that when a store is busy it can take a while at the registers, but waiting 30 minutes for 9 people in front of you is just plain bad. No one seems like they know what to do or care much for the long waits. Ran into the exact same situation when it was dead quiet. If the manager is reading this - make sure you have your speediest people cashing everyone out. And if there's only one register open and four other employees standing there - maybe someone should help out... read more

I struggle with this review because there are some great deals at this store - with some extra coupon opportunities if you provide an email - and ultimately, price is my biggest concern. I'd sacrifice a bit of service for a great deal. I'm no diva, and I've worked in retail, so I actually prefer not to bother staff when it's not necessary. This store is a mess. Honestly, every time I've entered in the past year it's been open, the mess has progressively grown. I was recently perusing clearance racks, and so many things were tossed around and damaged. I get it. Customers are slobs with deals. I then went to some full-priced selections, however, and there wasn't any item that had two of the same size. This place is really a glorified warehouse clearance outlet, except those are usually very organized because they know how to deal with the turnover of volume inherent in the clearance market. I also know what to expect walking into a warehouse outlet. I expect a slightly higher level of selection from a Saks-affiliated store. I have found the floor staff actually pretty courteous. The customer service mess occurs when it's time to pay. I have never seen more than two cashiers (on 6 or 8 registers), even with a line 20 deep, and more than once a manager who jumped onto a register took a customer or two and then announced "I'm closed after this person" still with a line about 10 deep. I like saving a buck, and I've found some great deals here. If the store continues its downward spiral, however, I will rethink shopping here in the future. read more

I feel like a lot of these reviews are a bit entitled. I'm not sure if you've ever been to a clearence or liquidation store, y'all, but visual merchandising and organization aren't exactly the focus; moving out older product is. You have to dig for things in these types of stores. I went to this store a week or two ago, and the sales person, Rita, who helped me a few times during my visit was extremely nice and helpful, and very friendly. This company needs a complete overhaul. As it stands the customer service is so bad you would think you are dealing with a scam. When you call to report an issue you are speaking to an operator in South Africa to begin with and they are powerless to help. The website states that Shoprunner orders are free shipping and free returns, don't believe this. When you return an order via shoprunner 9.9 times out of 10 you are charged the return shipping of $9.95 per item, meaning if you have two items in the box they will try to charge for both. I fought them many times on this and only half the time got the erroneously charged shipping fees back and mostly from paypal customer service. Most recently I was seduced again into purchasing some shirts from them since the customer service offers discount codes in lieu of not being able to actually get you your money back. One of the items I purchased was not in the box even though the packing slip said it was. After several phone calls and emails to them, I finally had to resolve this issue using PayPal buyer protection which sided in my favor and forced the company to refund the money that way. I do recommend using PayPal to purchase on their site which has these protections and also has a return shipping program in case you are dealing with this absolutely horrible customer service. Also, when I tried to return some items in an actual store, the print out receipts from the website wouldn't work and it took the workers several minutes to figure out how to fix the mistakes. In conclusion, do not get seduced in shopping this Off 5th company online. Macy's and even Lord & Taylor online offer much better customer service and similar quality. Nordstrom Rack is also far superior. In other words, boycot them until they get their act together managing this company in a civilized way. read more

There was a good selection of items and occasionally, some items looked tempting. It was also messy at times and there were crowds. They immediately made an announcement that the fitting room was closed, 40 MINUTES before they actually closed. Went here for Valentine's Day. Wanted to price check on a pair of shoes for my girlfriend. I went into line and waited a LONG time. Time to get the price check and it wasn't even the right box containing the shoes! Horrible customer service. The place is always a horrible mess. The people that work here are useless. The cash register people don't have enough ringers. This is probably one of the worst shops in the assembly area. I am disappointed. Lets start with first impressions... The store is extremely disorganized to the point of being unsafe. I'm surprised the staff members haven't filed OSHA complains for the trip hazard clothes that litter the floor. The shelves of gift items near the registers are stacked haphazardly; a simple glance might warrant a tchotchke avalanche. I find the condition of this "Saks Off 5th" completely unacceptable. I have shopped the Merrimack, Wrentham, Auburn Hills,MI and Woodbury,NY locations to find the condition of this location completely out of line with what I have happily experienced in other locations. Caution in the event of a return at this location. I have been treated like a criminal by two rather nasty women who tried to turn me away repeatedly. I asked for the manager who approved my return but for a fraction of the amount payed even though I presented a valid packing slip quite honestly a few days out of their 30 day policy. This store is just minutes away from my work and I've been pretty happy when it opened. I've shopped here frequently, especially for shoes. I was so happy I could find what fits me! Same goes for the clothes. I'm selecting what to get pretty carefully therefore I'm OK with prices. And I'm OK with the mess in the store, I was always able to find what I need anyway. Then looks like store management changed... Store became extremely not customer oriented. I went to the store; I need to get a pair of shoes and a dress to go to a summer wedding this weekend and I was lucky to find fast what I need. Well, let's just say - I thought I was lucky. When I went to the dressing room I asked if I could take it shoes into the room, I was rudely told - no, shoes are staying here. I asked if anything could be done and that lady asked store manager to come in, which is fine, in the past I was able to arrange that I'd take pair of shoes into the fitting room to try with the clothing exactly with the store manager. He said again - shoes are staying here, it came slightly more polite than from the lady. I explain the situation and ask to help to figure out something. Reply was - NO. So, I gave him shoes, he started to tell me where I should put them, but I also put on his hand all clothing items that I was planning to try on and said - Thank you and have a great day. I'm not asking for a very special treatment, all I'm asking is for a respect and there is none. And so - Well done mister manager! Well done! You just saved me about $600, I truly appreciate that! If I could give no stars I would. When this place first opened it was great. (And last time I was at the Merrimack NH store it was excellent as well). The ppl who worked here cared and it wasn't a total whirlwind of customers throwing clothes EVERYWHERE, but times they have changed. The other day I stopped in to return an item I bought online at Gilt (bc OffSaks accept them here and I have returned things before). The young man at the cash wrap told me he 'wasn't trained to do anything but check ppl out.' He looked to his slightly older boss who explained he'd have to call Gilt's 1 800 number and walk through it. The cash wrap kid looked like a deer in head lights. And then the manager stared rudely at me and inquired if I'd done a return slip online? Ahh no that's why I brought it here so I wouldn't print an online slip, pack it, etc etc. Then he told me how I needed an iPad to do so, they had an iPad but it wasn't charged. I looked behind me at a display FILLED w iPad chargers!! (But I guess opening a charger and connecting the two hadn't dawned on said manager). I then proceeded to try to start the return on my phone but the site was formatted for an iPad ...the entire thing ended w my leaving and calling Gilt to relay the debacle. Needless to say I'd planned on staying to peruse shoes but I didn't. Not will I likely ever go back to this location. I suggest if you like good service and an somewhat organized shopping experience neither do you. Which stinks because over the past years I've gotten some great stuff here. I was anxious about going here based on some of these reviews. Yes, customer service is not their strong suit here: no flowery greetings and no one will offer their services. This is a discount store and if you want a higher level of customer service, march yourself over to Newbury Street or Copley Place where you might be greeted by staff at those high end stores, but be prepared to drop a few bucks for that privilege. The layout of this store is haphazard with temporary racks of clothing thrown smack in middle of the aisles making it difficult to navigate (hello, fire code anyone?) and a customer service checkout buried in the middle that looks more like an afterthought. As I wandered through the store crowded with merchandise, I found sections of interest and went deeper in for further investigation. On one particular day, I saw plenty of signs with 40% off the lowest ticketed sale price and a buy 1 shirt, get 2 free (yes, please). Most merchandise, especially clearance or sale items, are squished together. Sizing tabs generally mean nothing and several tables were in disarray. The separation between racks of merchandise is narrow and you will be moving back and forth to let people pass. If you are looking for a bargain and don't mind the taking extra time digging and hunting through the racks, comfortable enough with an indifferent staff, and don't mind a store with a disheveled factor, then you will be pleasantly surprised what you will find and the price you paid for it. I went on a slow Wednesday morning and can only imagine that it would be unbearable on a busy weekend or around the holidays. Overall, I was happy with the selection. You'll see the familiar designer names like Michael Kors, Vince, Theory, Saks brand, etc. Checkout, as some yelpers have mentioned, is slow, but was professional and courteous: I was greeted, rung up, items folded, and placed in a bag. I am not in this store for idle chit chat, white glove service, or making new friends. Again, this is a discount store where the game is to move high end past season merchandise so keep that in the back of your mind when you venture in. If you are looking for staff to help you match something, find something, put items on hold, or fetch another size while you are in the dressing room, go elsewhere. Off 5th has a strict return policy and tags must be attached so try before you buy or make sure you keep your receipts and don't cut the tags until completely sure you want it. I've returned an item and had absolutely no problem since I was within their store guidelines. I would imagine that if you are not, you will have problems. The store is a short walk to the MBTA's Orange Line Assembly Station and there's a wide arrange of other stores in the immediate neighborhood. read more
