I made a reservation earlier today and was so looking forward to a foot massage. 45 minutes prior to my time I was called asking if I could change my appointment for a half hour later. I couldn't. The person proceeded to have a discussion with someone, possibly forgetting about me. I held for a few minutes, tried to get their attention then hung up. Not a very good first impression. I tried Sakura for a 1hr foot massage, this foot massage consists of dipping your feet in warm water which they sprinkle with rose petals, and while your feet soak they do about 20 min of shoulder, arm and hand massage, then they take your feet out of the water and do a leg and foot massage for another 20 minutes and then they flip you and do a shoulder, back massage for another 20 minutes. I requested Cindy and was not disappointed, she had great technique. I should have listen to Sean M.'s tip of bringing my own headphones because although the staff does a great job at talking quietly and maintaining a serene and relaxing environment, it is the customers that disturb the peace, the guy siting in the chair next to me was snoring, and not just any snoring, I am talking freight train snores!!! He was on the other side of a curtain dividing our chairs, the first time it was funny but it got pretty irritating really quick, totally took away from my experience, then once he was done and left a super loud couple came in, Sakura's front reception area is divided by a curtain from the chairs therefor there isn't much of a buffer from people who don't know any better or are just plain inconsiderate. I will definitely be returning, the staff was very friendly, the massage was great, the salon is very clean and the chairs are new and comfortable, $35 for a 1 hr massage is a great deal, but next time I will be bringing my own headphones. read more

They are doing everything they can to keep the customers safe and let's not forget they have concerns to keep themselves safe as well, especially considering they're in the business of touching and are in very close contact with people. I held off as long as I could and while I did get one other massage at another smaller massage place during the pandemic I've been hesitant to come here because of its set up (you're not in a private room). But the type of treatment I get here is so much better than the regular type of spa (DEEP tissue in exactly the right places), I couldn't hold off any longer. My husband and I were the only ones here, masks required which we're more than happy to comply (too bad to the people who don't want to wear one during the massage, the staff doesn't want Covid either!) All went very well, we felt very safe, clean and protected while giving my poor, stressed out body the help it needs. I would hate it if this gem left our area, it's well run, well managed and I swear gives the best massages for half the price of regular spa places. This is a relatively new Thanksgiving tradition for me. A few years back, I found out that it's a myth that everything closes on Thanksgiving. Plenty of Asian restaurants, stores and Chinese massage places are open. Therefore, getting a pampering massage becomes a new Thanksgiving tradition for me. It's a good way to reduce your stress and get ready for the holidays, right? While this place has received some raving reviews from my trusted fellow Yelpers, I'm also a bit wary as they are a few years old. Knowing the industry, this place can well be under new management and the good masseurs moved on. Thankfully, there's no need for worries. The service is great, from the receptionist to the masseurs, the place is clean, and the chair is super comfortable. A full - and I do mean full plus a few bonus minutes - 60 minutes foot massage is only $35. I love that this place does spend more time on the feet, even if it's not the old school reflexology, where the masseur knows the road map to your whole body may sometimes even tell you to take care of your stomach or whatever body part he/she detects not to be in perfect health just by touching your feet. But then I think that's kind of a lost art. If you prefer less time on the feet, there are body massage as well as foot/body combo. My masseur is excellent. He is very attentive: he puts the water basin on a stool so my feet won't be dangling when I lie down and covers my eyes with a towel. While his touches are gentle and not rough, they are strong and effective. The knots in my neck that have been bothering me for months dissolved under his skillful hands. I feel so much better afterwards, I find my posture straighter, my shoulders more relaxed. My hubby and I both agree that it's the best massage we've gotten in S Florida for a while, and we do get massages a lot. Can highly recommend Tina and Calvin. For those not used to Chinese massage, a few tips: 1. it is performed in a communal room, so some noise is unavoidable even if the staff made an effort to keep quiet. 2. you keep your clothes on, so come wearing shorts and loose t shirt or tank tops. (they do have a small room for a full bed, if you prefer a more traditional body massage) 3. it is a stronger, tui-na style meant to release muscle knots and "maintain health", not a relaxing pampering Swedish massage. read more

There are 3 kinds of Foot Spa's 1) Upscale 2) Mid range and 3) Cheap. 1) Upscale Typically upscale foot spa's have Zen inspired aesthetics, private rooms, hostesses & waiters, very attractive female masseuses, saunas whirlpools showers & change rooms. Each room or communal massage area has perfect sound mitigation and might be outfitted with remote controlled flat screen TV's. Complimentary fruit, wine & tea is the norm. Masseuses are always well trained. They do not charge extra to use CC's. 2)Mid range Usually mid range spa's have one large communal massage area with an effort put towards sound control. The lobby area is mostly likely directly or indirectly adjacent to the massage area so you are prone to periodic talk. These places can also be somewhat Zen inspired and are very clean. These places might also have a room or two for conventional massage and one extra room for private foot massage. Masseuses are usually well trained but you might encounter a nincompoop here or there. They might charge extra to use CC's and usually do not accept Amex. I would advise bringing your own headset to listen to music if you are looking for total serenity. 3)Cheap These places always have one big communal massage area. The masseuses typically don't have a lounge room so they usually hang around available chairs or in the lobby area. Serenity has no meaning as masseuses and people randomly talk as though they are walking down the hallway at the local DMV. The place might not be as clean as you would like and you might get a masseuse that smells like smoke. Masseuses might also have casual convo with their co-workers while they are working on you. You can get a real good foot massage at these places, but more often than other you'll probably have a mediocre experience. Definitely bring your own headsets to listen to your own music or you will be extremely annoyed if you are seeking quiet serenity. They always charge extra to use CC's. These places sometimes are much cheaper than conventional Asian foot massage spa's, I'm talking about prices in the $20-25/hr range. I would avoid places with these prices as they might be filled with illegal's being manipulated. $35 to $39 and higher is the typical price range for Foot Massage in South Florida unless they're having a special. In my experience I've only experienced upscale Foot spa's in Asia particularly in China. But Tao foot spa in Boca a mid range spa is the closest I've experienced that's bordering upscale on some fronts. Sakura a mid range foot spa facility, is spotless with 7 very comfortable massage chairs(chairs recline to 180 % and two conventional massage rooms with I believe four masseuses two male & two female. There were no masseuses freeloading on or around any of the available foot massage chairs either both times I've been here. Both masseuses are 'A' grade in technique and pressure, but I was particularly fond of Cindy's technique and strength. Cindy also gave me a foot exfoliating scrub which I've only experienced at mid range and upscale foot massage spa's in China. There's no extra charge to use CC's and they do accept Amex, but they prefer to accept conventional CC's over Amex. Parking is super as there is metered and free parking in front of the spa. Take note that the metered parking is facing the spa and the free parking is facing away from the spa. The people here are classy and friendly. Ahhhhsome!!!! I think I may owe Sean M. a big favor because of his recommendation. I requested Cindy and was rewarded with one of my favorite foot massages ever! Relaxing in the big, comfy, reclining chair, I was first treated to an arm and hand massage. It was good, but Cindy did an even better job on my feet. The foot massage seemed to come to a premature end and I was thinking the whole experience was too short when Cindy had me lie on my stomach and finished with an absolutely amazing upper back and neck massage. It was so good that I added a 1/2 back massage! I don't remember the exact price, but I believe Sakura is still having a special for the 1 hour foot massage and it was very reasonable. (4.5 stars) I've had Sakura bookmarked for some time thanks to Sean M.'s suggestion. I get full body massages fairly regularly but decided to come for a date night with the boyfriend and try something different. We both put a decent amount of stress on our feet with work and the gym so foot massages sounded like a great idea. I called ahead to confirm what time they closed and asked if they took walk-ins or if we needed to make a reservation. The lady on the phone did say they took walk-ins but did recommend a reservation as they only had a few chairs. The parking out front isn't the best - some spots seem to have meters while others don't which I found odd. Upon entry the lobby was very serene and quiet. Once we checked in there was no paperwork to fill out or anything which was nice but I do wish she had asked if we needed to use the restroom before starting. We chose to do the 30 minute foot massage since it was our first time. She showed us to a large room with about 7-8 lounge chairs and directed us to the two chairs closest to the back. We waited while they filled buckets of hot water for us to soak/clean our feet in. There was a lot of walking around and bustle by the staff but for the most part it was fairly quiet considering you were in an open room with other people. The overall massage was great. I absolutely love a good foot massage and this was seriously top notch. They start out massaging your scalp (swoon) and then massage pressure points in your head and face. Then they cover your eyes with a little towel and move to your legs and feet. The pressure was great the whole time and I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. A few notes as to why this isn't a 5 star review - the noise from the back (washing machine going and ware bucket filling) and staff walking around was very loud and distracting. Also, the one thing I absolutely despise in any kind of quiet setting are ticking clocks; and they had two of them. I know this because I heard them ticking the majority of the time and could not fully relax. (Digital clocks are the way to go - but also noted Charmine P's suggestion about bringing your own headphones for next time.) Besides those two things the experience was great. I was disappointed that I could have received an extra 30 minutes for only $10 more which I highly recommend. 30 minutes is definitely not enough time and 60 minutes for $35, why the heck not?! The minute you walk in you are welcomed with a friendly and professional greeting. They ask you to choose the length of time and type of treatment, I recommend the 60 or 90 min combo massage!!! Once you have decided on the treatment you are then taken to the main room and asked to sit on a recliner like chair containing comfortable pillows and towels for warmth. They give you a large tub of warm water with rose petals to place your feet into and relax for a few minutes. Then the heavenly experience begins. Davie was perfection. The perfect amount of pressure (normally I feel like I've been beaten with a crow bar in places like this). On the chair with the combo massage you receive the first 20-30minutes of foot, calf and upper leg with oils that aren't heavy or smell funny. Then they move you to a separate room where the heavenly experience continues. You are placed on a massage table to which they continue with upper/lower back, neck and arms. Davie deserves an award for his perfect massage technique, I didn't want him to stop. But wait there's more.....hot stones are brought out with warm towels to solidify a treatment of perfection.
